  • A classic, delicious Afghan breakfast treat! Paratha can be enjoyed in a sweet or savory manner and are the perfect breakfast delicacy for any occasion!
    INGREDIENTS:
    1.5 tsp yeast
    1 tsp salt
    2.5 cups warm water
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    5 cups flour
    1 tbsp oil

    If you make these and plan on reheating them, make them slightly thicker so that they don’t become too crisp!

      We eat these for breakfast on occasion and top them with sugar or honey. These parathas pair well with sheerchai (milk tea) which I will be posting a video on soon!

    Salaam sister which flour did you use? Please be specific because I get really confused with the type of flour lol.. is it self raising flour, plain flour or something else? Jazaak’Allah Khairan

      Walaikum Salaam. I used all purpose flour which I’m guessing is what you call plain flour.

    If I want to make less can I cut the ingredients by half? Would it still

    Do I have to leave ti for 2 hours can I not use the dough straight away

      It is necessary to let the it rest so that you are able to roll out the dough. If necessary you could let it rest for just one hour.
