    Thank you for addressing over curing! The real danger is UNDERcuring which is the #1 cause of allergies.

    Great video. I have been asking myself the same question. "Is it possible to over cure. Thank you for answering that question. You do have the best reviews on YT when it comes to nail products. Thank you💕💖❤

    Thanks a lot for another great gel info video!! I have been doing freehand nail art with regular polish for YEARS so the heartbreaks have been rough😂, just a little question, do you think that there are any big differences between freehanding in regular and gel nail polish?

    Hi I just started doing my own press on nails. I try to avoid constantly having to put my hands under the UV light so I always pre-paint them while they're on nails stands. But I've noticed that sometimes when its time to put them under the light to cure, once I take them out the nails have widened and no longer fits my nails the way they did before curing. I thought maybe too much top coat was applied but its really bumming me out because all my hard work is just ruined😢...Are there any tips for how I can keep the width the same after curing the nail? I just feel like I'm definitely doing something wrong here😕 I just want to get better😭

    Thanks for this! I started doing my own nails and friends and family at home a year ago with a starter kit that came with a lamp. I started noticing that it's getting weaker so I'm in the market for a better lamp that will last. What do you recommend? Can you recommend a lower end budget lamp and a higher end one? I saw your lamp reviews but I still can't decide!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

      I just did two reviews on Amazon accessible low-cost LED lamps definitely check them out they both work great. As far as how long the light lasts it depends on how powerful the light is and how many times you’re using it but LED lights should really last you like a couple of years if you have a really good wattage I use my lights multiple times throughout the day for A really long time like yrs it was with a higher end and higher cost LED lamp right now I’m reviewing lower end ones but I really can’t comment on how long it’ll last until I get to that point and they might be a while LOL but definitely check out those reviews the links for each of those lamps are included in the description I am currently still using the $20 LED lamp in my shop i’ll use it a little longer before I test out the next one 😉

    I realize this is from a year ago, however, I just found this. Appreciate your information. Question: Are the lights bad for your skin in anyway? Do you only recommend gel?

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  2 роки тому +2

      Definitely check out my video talking about UV and LED lights I go over concerns with the light and whether not there should be any. In my shop I only use soak off gel polish for hands. Regular polish is awesome but takes forever to dry leaves too much room for people to get nicks on them while they dry art is super limited and it definitely doesn’t last as long so I choose not to waste my time with regular polish unless it’s for young children who really shouldn’t be doing gel manicures if it’s left up to me. And ultimately what I recommend is making sure that people are doing things right and taking care of the nail place because you can definitely have healthy males using other products like dip or acrylic or hard gel but it does take a lot of care because of the prep required to ensure the product adheres properly. I like keeping things simple and making sure the nails are getting healthy no matter what

    I just bought my first ever gel polish ...applied the black sitting here with a blow dryer waiting for it to dry....box didn't say I needed a uv light. Lol good thing I work with epoxy and has pigments that glow and came with a uv light. But it's a uv flashlight will that work or do you recommend a better light ?

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  2 роки тому

      If the polish cures with UV light then the flashlight could definitely work a lot of polish is these days are LED light so check that out about the brand. Any LED light that you purchase on Amazon that is 45 W or more will work good I reviewed so many from cheap too expensive and I’ve never really had an issue accomplishing the job just make sure the lamp is higher than 45 W for a good strong cure

      I truly believe the longevity of a manicure has more to do with the actual process than the product! 😉 i’ve never used C&D nail products I believe it’s shellac but I do have it on the list is some thing that I want to start reviewing and comparing to gel polish. 🤗 It’ll be a little bit but it’s in the works for sure!

    I've been having a problem I hope you can help me with. I have scoured the net for an answer and no one seems to have covered it. After applying two thin coats of polish and then my top coat I notice that within a few minutes after curing, tiny bubbles have appeared in my top coat. Not on all of the nails, only on a few of them. I apply thin coats of polish, and I have a fairly new high wattage LED/UV lamp. I am stumped as to why this is happening. Do I need to wipe my nails with 91 % alcohol before applying top coat? Should I go even thinner with my top coat? Should I cure for longer than 1 minute? Has anyone else had this issue? I am hoping you can help me with this, because I would love to have flawless finished nails like everyone else. Thank you for your help!

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  3 роки тому +5

      I think I can help you! That will generally happen because you have bubbles in your gel polish or bubbles in the application brush of the bottle. That’s pretty much all it is it’s air bubbles it could be because you are shaking the topcoat or you are putting in the brush too quickly or pumping it in and out of the bottle and it saturates little pockets of air in the product so regardless of how thin the coats are you’re applying the coats with these little bubbles and when the gel cures they pop and it leaves that space because the Gel has already Harden Around it. It could also be that the Gel bottle is contaminated has a lot of particles in it which are also contributing to the little air pockets. You could try to work with it and get the air bubbles out of the Gel by wiping the polish brush completely you can easily do this with a piece of paper towel just wipe the Gel brush and one good swift motion to remove the product and it and squish all of the product out of the bristles you don’t want to rub it or anything you literally just want to give it a good wipe maybe two wipes I would probably recommend just getting a new bottle since I don’t know whether not it’s just air bubbles or if the bottle is contaminated

    My gel peels within 3-4 days no matter what I do and with every color. I thought maybe I wasn’t curing properly but I’ve took the same color to the salon and they cure for the same time and it last weeks! Why?? Do I need a new light?

    • @tresbusby8387

      I have had the same problem. I cure away each layer. Take a shower the next day or just do dishes and it peels right off. Heck, put some gardening gloves on for an hour to pull weeds and 2 nails were no longer painted.

    I think it's worth mentioning the difference between CFL UV lights and LED lights. Both use UV wavelengths but there's common misconceptions that LED don't use UV.

    Can I place in a request for just doing a Beetles video on trouble shooting various problems someone can face when using their kits? Such as lifting, cracking, bumps, etc. but all focused on Beetles brands as they are DIY friendly.

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  3 роки тому

      That all has to do with the manager process definitely make sure to check out the videos that I’ve done specifically related to that. From prepping the nail to perfect application and it will definitely address those issues. I have reviewed beetles multiple times and I have zero issues related to that it’s usually always due to the process and I will definitely be revisiting the process again taking it step-by-step so keep an eye out for those videos 😉

    I’m not sure you will respond but I’m gonna give it a shot. I use dip powder with gel liquids due to dip flu issues. My issue is this: sometimes my top coat yellows. I’m not sure why. Any ideas?

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  Рік тому

      The discoloring on topcoat comes from exposure to chemicals heat etc. if it happens regularly it’s definitely something that you do in your day it could even be your clothes causing the stains. Make up remover‘s and hair products can also causes it but really isn’t too common. The only way to avoid this is getting a topcoat that specifically states it is a no stain topcoat otherwise it really just depends

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  Рік тому

      And regarding how to fix it if it already happened sometimes you can wipe it off a little bit with alcohol, you can use acetone although it could all the shine for sure. And if you really want to get rid of it but the topcoat off and reapply again. But you’ll never really be able to get rid of it completely

    How to remove gel polish

  • @D.JKennedy
    @D.JKennedy 2 роки тому +1

    I'm discouraged and annoyed I'm becoming not a fan of gel nail polish . So I bought a UV/LED dome off Amazon and retried the polish , and to be honest I think the flash light did better , cause I can't get this stuff to cure. I applied a light coat of black ...cured it added a second light coat of black cured it ...added the cat eye polish cured it and then the clear coat and it won't cure its still tacky I think I have had my hands in this dome of about 10 to 30 mins each then again for another 30 to 60 mins still tacky. What am I doing wrong?

    • @TheNaturalNailGuru
      @TheNaturalNailGuru  2 роки тому +2

      Gel polish has a inhibition layer which is a sticky layer after the polish is cured, once you have your topcoat cured you need to wipe this sticky layer with either alcohol or acetone. Almost every gel polish that you use will have this tacky layer after it is cured however there is no wipe topcoat these days which don’t require that step. Let me know if this helps!
