So I recently picked up a Marshall 2551AV cab loaded with a quad of 2015 Marshall Vintage 16 ohm speakers. So, I wanted to do some reamping to put them up on the E609 against my trusty 2002 V30 8 ohm loaded Mesa traditional recto straight cab. Here's a reamp mash up using a riff from one of my band's songs called "Release". I went ahead & used tones from my Mark IIC+, the Mark IVb, and also what I think is the best part about the Mark V- Mark I mode! Note all tracks are boosted with my Griffin Analog Chiron (klone) boost.
The iic+ through the Mesa v30….Damnnnn what a sound.
Thank you for the comparison, interesting!
A good comparison would be to use the same cab and swap the speakers, striking out the difference between the Marshall slanted cab vs. the Mesa straight cab.
You can definitely hear a difference between an 8 or 16ohm and I'd think their would be applications for both. That Mark V Mark I mode sounds incredible.
I've really been enjoying MkI mode. In the room, that into the Marshall cab is TBA in a can.
I need to get my iib modded, also if u could compare the unmodded amps to their modded counterpart that would be nice to see what the + does and if u can mimic it bc I’ve heard people say some pedals or something gets u there
1:15 sounds downright NASTY
Thanks man. That's the album tone!
V30 uk 8 ohms is the best speaker
