Sometimes… a day unfolds unlike anything we may have ever expected. This, was one of those days. I am very pleased with how this six minutes and forty seconds of an evening turned out. But honestly, this entire day… let’s just say, this day was… unplanned. Unanticipated.
Unfortunately, this beautiful Saturday evening was borne of one extremely tragic and unspeakable circumstance. My son-in-law lost a grandparent. That’s all I’m gonna say about that. But, I was able to drop everything to go and be there for him and my daughter, and take solace in a beautiful impromptu evening at the beach with them. Always, keep the boots in the car.
The rivers and the beaches are part of our way of life in the Pacific Northwest, and I should never fancy living apart from the them. It’s in my blood… the tides and the waves and the cold and the rocks and the life that abounds here. It heals. It lifts. And you always leave feeling better than when you showed up… without knowing why you do. The subtleties of Washington State have permeated perhaps even the hardest of hearts for centuries. But shhh. That’s our little secret.🤫
Everyone you see here felt a longing to get out after the day’s rains to enjoy the shared experience of a winter evening at the shore with bonfires, ferry boats, birds, planes, trains and of course, a captivating sunset that evolved into a poignant and most intimate ‘blue hour’ worthy of stealing one’s breath away.
Thanks for coming along. Thanks for reading. For taking time to gain some insight into this particular creative experience, introduced with a smidge of Vivaldi. I am a natural born encourager and have a terrible habit of wearing my heart on my sleeve. It does tend to help in this simple life as a lunch lady though, and my hope is that a bit of that may transfer to my videos.
So, enjoy this portrayal of a local’s perspective of life out here on the coast. It was not sad. It was good. I truly appreciate that you read this far. I always do. I’ll catch ya next time.♥️
