  • Here I test get to test my theory of what's the best top handle for $500 bucks. I have spent that getting my Holzfforma G111 up to a reliable state with Stihl Parts. You can buy the MS194T new for that price. Lets put them head to head in a Holzfforma vs Stihl chainsaw battle for hand saw supremacy. While I know the 020AV would beat them both

In Italy, a brand-new Stihl MS 194 is priced at 299 euros and comes with a two-year warranty. On the other hand, a used Stihl MS 201 in good condition costs 400 euros. Personally, I think Holzfforma would only be worth considering if it were priced around 200 euros.

You also have 192t 193t in the 30cc class saws which are cheaper then 194t and 201t
Also if someone is looking for smaller and even lighter top handle saw say 23cc to 27cc weight 5 to 6 lbs class
    Stihl 150t 151t
    Echo 2511 screamer
    Husqvarna t 525

The Stihl ms200t is a better saw than the Stihl ms192t and I once had a couple Stihl ms200t saws. In the used market the Stihl ms 200t is often outrageously expensive due to it being one of if not the best arborist saw.
Keeping this all in mind, I'd likely choose the clone 200t knowing I can replace bad parts with OEM parts when needed. Total cost might go up higher over time than I'd pay all at once, but it would basically become closer and closer to the Stihl Ms200t while you are getting great use out of it and still likely be cheaper than buying a used working Stihl ms200t. I think Stihl was crazy to discontinue the 200t personally. Smh
Now if I was buying a top handle saw as an arborist, for in the tree limbing, then I wouldn't choose the clone except as a back up saw due the risk of it breaking down on the job.
But just for my own use, I'd go with the clone of ms200t as a copy of a better saw than the ms192t because I could buy it cheaper and build up the saw with OEM parts over time since I can't really afford the an initial high cost, it cuts better than the ms192t and I'm not using it for a job, so breakdowns are not going to be as big an issue.
Great video and I can totally understand your point of view. A very practical way of looking at it and you start off with a great high quality Stihl made saw. 😎👍

Very good points! Yes it would be nice to find a minty 200t but odds are against you. I’m really enjoying my 194t and have a few vids comparing it to this clone. It’s a pretty good watch giving all my thoughts between the 2

These comments for this video are great, also, great channel. Originally checked the channel for the Ford 555 content, stuck around for all of the other cool videos.

The Holtzforma seemed more ""grunty" although it seemed like the drags may be down a little to low the way they were " jumping" around...but overall those Stihls DEF. do better ported and un-plugged. I acquired a 192 that was straight gassed that I'm gonna rebuild and port...the saw looks NICE... but needs new P&C so I'm gonna hot rod it up while I got it apart!

Yeah the 194 seems really choked up. I’m going to dig into it at some point when I get some spare time. I did remove the screen/baffle from the clone 200. I like them both

My experience with clones saws is limited to only a G372 but I'm thinking for the long haul that your 194T is the better bang for your buck?

I still use the stihl 2 in 1. Typically I expect a .030 softwood setting and run with it. I like it

@@Man-Time If you plain to heat with hardwood then set rakers at 25 thousand 30 degrees on cutters

    Closer comparison would be
    Stilh 194t vs Husqvarna 525t
Stihl 200t vs Husqvarna 435t both of these are 35cc saws

Haven’t had any issues with the one I have. If I can get OEM for a decent price that’s usually what I do though
