Kh3 Critical mode is coming out tonight, so let’s see how they make it harder. Plus, they halved health and magic, decreased the chance of reaction commands showing up, nerfed magic attacks, and changed up enemy patterns.
I like the idea that the lingering will gets angry, not because of xehanort or anything, but because you literally die in one swing he can't seem to hit you, like he is getting mad because he's trying to kill a fly holding a toothpick while he's holding an anvil.
This video is a masterpiece. As someone who had a hard time beating the Lingering Will at level 49 CM , I know how much work went behind this video. Dude, you definitely owned him at nearly his full potential (I say nearly because it would've been a pain in the ass to deal with the Glider attack or his magic attack). If you ask me he really did put up a good fight, that even one move took out both donald and goofy at full health😭 Canonically speaking, Sora at kh 2 shouldn't be able to defeat lingering will/terra considering terra defeated xehanort and was even holding back, considering he didnt want to destroy his own body, sora at the end of kh 3 however is a different case

He is harder probably since he has more moves but Sephiroth on lvl 1 without looping is still really tough, he kills you if you fuck up once and you have to react super quickly to his stuff.

But in his video he always triggers the revenge, and still manage to dodge the whip after, crazy stuff really, very tight timing after an explosion. Good job bro! I liked, made me remember of those michaku's + bizkits vids. Edit : While watching it again, it seems you do looping strats. After some finishing leap combos you back away , instead of triggering the revenge. When you trigger the revenge every single time and react to the chaos after, that's the true no loop experience.. For example, if terra was using the bow patern moveset, he would most definetly end up looping his moves if you didn't trigger the revenge each time. So the true loop doesn't depend on RNG for him to not loop his moves, you gotta combo him all the way and stuff. I think only michaku tohunen was able to do this to this day. Unless someone else did it too.

Well done...however I am 100% sure the Lingering Will got forced into a near 100% pattern of predictability he couldnt get himself out of, because not once was there a Keyblade Glider phase or Keyblade Bow phase.
I purposely didn’t loop him so he’d mix things up a bit. Sure the first rising sun phase was pretty easy since I am pretty familiar with his overall move set. The second phase I just reacted to whatever he did. Keyblade glider phase is awful rng since you can’t really get through it without insane luck or breaking my restrictions by using magic or guard if he does lasers and rising sun at the same time. I did this challenge again with kingdom key a couple weeks ago and got the phase where he used bow and ultima canon often. It’s just kinda random what patterns you get here but these restrictions make it more interesting still

Today. I finally beated him without any guides or tipps. Just searching for myself (and lv 80. I'm sorry) but now I'm ready to see what wrong moves I always did.
My head canon is that Sora lost this fight dead to rights. The only reason why he won is because it's a game. You were given a challenge and you HAD to win. A lore accurate fight Sora would've been creamed. And KH III supports this with Terranort having actually bodied Sora casually in ReMind and the Lingering Will is above even Terranort.

How do you avoid him doing the twisty-loopy Keyblade Chaser rushes with the crystal bits shooting lasers at you? I've no clue as to how I can possibly avoid that (I've tried using Summons for the invincibility, but he does it a million times)!
His moveset is random. The OP must've gone through dozens of attempts before this one to get lucky enough not to have the glider or bow curse moves used against him. Still an impressive achievement though
Is there a specific reason you didnt go into air combos after launching him upward? I've never actually fought Lingering Will or played the games at all seriously, so I'm not a master at strategy and best ways to attack an opponent lol. My guess though is to extend the damage chain? And if that's the case, then why not perform incomplete aerial combos and let him come back to the ground and hit him before he touches the ground?

Yea, Sora used to be really slow and couldn't cast magic while running (only sliding or hovering).

Is there a specific reason you didnt go into air combos after launching him upward? I've never actually fought Lingering Will or played the games at all seriously, so I'm not a master at strategy and best ways to attack an opponent lol.
My guess though is to extend the damage chain? And if that's the case, then why not perform incomplete aerial combos and let him come back to the ground and hit him before he touches the ground?
I purposely mixed my combos up as part of my no looping Sora's attack restriction. I made sure I never repeated the same combo set twice in a row.
