- CCCP propaganda film from 1972.

Nostalgia :)
Ural has great vehicles though.
Mainosfilmihän aina on vähän höpötysfilmi, ihan yhtä höpöjä ne länsimaistenkin tuotteiden mainokset on. :)
Sikäli, kyllä nuo tänäkin päivänä on parhaita autoja noihin olosuhteisiin.
The only Western trucks that were equally capable were aircooled Magirus-Deutz trucks! Almost 10 000 were sold to the Soviet Union for the construction of the Baikal Amur Mainline. They were so impressed by them that even nowadays they remember their "Magirusov" and UralAZ (the ones shown here) entered a longtime business relationship with Magirus Deutz and later IVECO!
Very interesting film :) Ural is a great truck.
having literally a ''STOVE'' inside?! i think i fell in love for this truck :D
@rymyeetu1 Back in those days Finland bought many of russian machines. You can still find some of them there.
I dont se a propaganda from this movie ! I see only HEAVY Russian michine rom HEAVY off roads !
lovin the woodstove heater in the cab
I love at 2:45 ...buddy throws another couple sticks of wood into the wood stove glove box lol hardcore!!
it seems to me this marketing movie was produced for the Fins in 1972 (if the narrator is not added now). Well... they certainly convinced me that this machine will conquer any road! looove the stove in the cabin, so useful in the forrests.
@4x4Globetrotter All is correct. I worked at factory in Siberia did compressors. So they worked in Bolivia at height of 4500 meters over level sea-any others couldn't work there!
They didn't show the film crew's Lada breaking down and being towed by the Ural.
Gotta love the way Soviets used to build stuff. Simple, rugged and effective. The built-in closed fireplace is pure genius!
@Erniz2 No ,it is in Finland. They are speaking finnish.
Both Ural and Tatra are both excellent trucks, Urals are simpler though and slightly more reliable because it is built for rough terrain from the ground up. Tatras are built for more European type settings.
Harvinainen klippi suomettumisen ajoilta, kiitos.
This was actually really cool! (oops, pardon the pun.) I just wish it was subtitled!
What is the name of the tune/song that starts at 6:05?
Ural - pride of the Motherland!)))
Don't underestimate the URAL it is the logistical back bone for the USSR
Of course! I have seen one of these in my work. It is a radio station. It has an AC and filter system, against nuclear and chemical contamination. It`s very hard core machine, it needs very little maintenance.
where is the propaganda part??????
Nice clip! These Ural trucks are freaking beasts! This is a 'promotional clip'.
Very impressive. Especially that these models are equipped with ZIL-375 V8 carburator engine.
Super video!!!
Does anyone know anything about the music used?
+Mike Spence Yep, from 4:38 -> it's "Time, forward!" from Georgy Sviridov.
Nice video ! thanks for sharing
super film
Can somebody tell me what he did at 6:43? Is it a torque wrench?
They are measuring the torque needed to turn the engine and how long time it is needed to use pre-heater to start the engine. At -54°c 38minutes, very impressive resoult, he says.
And this is only a promotion film! Watch what these trucks do after years and years of heavy duty!
@4x4Globetrotter I think he's referring to the Finnish voiceover, which is sort of cheesy.
Whoever wrote the title "extremely silly propaganda" has clearly zero experience about offroad driving. Of course this is an advertisement, but unlike most products in most ads, Ural actually delivers. It is still the best offroad truck ever made. If only it didn't consume so much gas, it would still be a hit. Back in 1970s, the gas prices were not an issue in CCCP govt vehicles.
Vakavissaan kannattaisi muuttaa otsikkoa. "Äärettömän typerältä" näyttää nyt otsikon laittaja.
@4x4Globetrotter : Well spoken, bro! Those Ural-trucks are an excellent example that hightec is not allways the solution.
Viimeinkin jotain oikeata historiaa.
At -60 celsius ur hummer even wont start
What are they using @ 6:46?
It's a torque wrench. They use it to check how hard it is to turn the crankshaft. This way they will know when the engine is pre-heated enough so they can use the starter, not wasting the battery's energy trying to start too early.
I believe that this is commercial film for finnish market.
Awesome.. thanks 👍
Yes, but Ural was fully constructed(as all other soviet cars) in Moscow, and builded in Russia.
URAL IS THE KING!!!!!!! END OF HISTORY.!!!
Well .. at least the new Ural truck was successful ... it's still in production. :)
Actualy, this is a historical/ promo. 1950's tire technology in -40 weather! What a problemo.
Very nice this original film.
Yes ... years ago when the US captureda Russian jet, as they started looking at the inside, they laughed because the electronics had tubes instead of capacitors. Then they realized .... they would survive a nuclear blast, and the US jets would not (without heavy shielding) Simpler = better in my opinion :)
Video is excellent. And so far, all shown using. In Russia, things are changing slowly. The main people who are not afraid to work in such hellish conditions of the Far North.
@ArtHummer Yes
@4x4Globetrotter I agree with you.
@TheVeneth the comment was about the truck , it was a crap even at his time , i repeat the comments is referring to the trucks, if you think in another way , well is your point of vision.
My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during five and a half years because of our homepage linked on my channel. He was assassinated by the German BND which is the renamed GESTAPO.
By the way, German snitchers are following me on UA-cam and immediately flagg many of my postings.
Martin Bott
@TheVeneth whao ...i really touch your emotions...sorry i was unaware that you was soo delicate
Näin arvelinkin. ;)
@4x4Globetrotter - I was a soldier there too, globe. You guys make some nice vehicles. Check-out T-54 bull-dozer!
@4x4Globetrotter
-60C :)
The mere size of the wheels tells me that they know a thing or two about off road transport. Finesse? Nah. Function? Most definitely! Simplicity? Definitely - they can surely be repaired in any field situation. Assembly and parts quality (The last, very important question)? No idea - if that one is in place this is one helluva vehicle. If not - forget it. Anybody knows?
a wood stove in the cab wow
Kuinkahan pal toverit hyödynti saksalaista insinööritaitoa autojensa kehityksessä sodan jälkeen...
top film
I wonder how well these trucks would do with a turbo diesel reporter?
How come this is silly? That's such a piece of machinery.
Yeah with some slight changes to engine and gear.Just go to the UralTrucks site and see for yourself
Because and in suomi they have sold in Finland
I´ve got an idea, its just a joke, but listen: Many countries like the USA, China and even Russia argue who will be the first one, who will reach the Mars with astronauts. I would say: The russians of course with the good old URAL Trucks! XD But seriously, my respect to soviet technology.
@arekk75 This video about that as tested the car in 1972
1961
Not all of them were powered by gas engines.
Ljublju vsjo sovetskoe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderfull what you can do whit a truck like that
Why? Same load capacity, less ground clearance, more complicated - same off-road ability. Urals win Europa Truck Trial Just like tatra...
@ManSnowdrift есть!
Supertruck
1:11 Holy crap is that Spock?
Evil1P extremly silly person from year 1972!
1961
czech patriotism :)
More WAAAAADKAAAAAA
System was what it was, the propaganda was what it was, the engineering was what it was, mostly simplifying and copying working solutions. Still now, this is not silly at all, still working solutions. About the system etc. these days...mm...later. But go ahead and try one of these just for fun. ;). :)
En kai mä laitteita tässä kyseenalaistanut vaan tuon suomenkielisen spiikin!
(CCCP) RUSSIA POWER, Nie zniszczalny sprzęt.
@kumquatsta Hmm, well I dont know what manner of Oshkosh trucks you've been driving buddy, but let me tell you, plastic RC trucks of any make dont count ;).
author you got to tell me why this is a silly movie, its just true, conditions and ways to get them rolling again are as in this movie so are the capabilities of the ural truck
USSR FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
Propaganda? GTF it's A FIN narrator telling the truth! These things are bullet proof
