Seal Rescued From Triple Entanglement

- Some days, a team of 4 rescuers is not enough when OCN catches so many seals simultaneously that we appear to run out of hands and nets. In this rescue run at Cape Cross, Naude is left behind with a complicated entanglement. He could have used help from his team to speed up the process. The seal is caught in 3 individual loops of fishing line, all of which are tight and deep. The rescuer must carefully remove each fishing line without letting the animal out of his grip. It has taken Naude years and years of seal rescue practice to stay calm and professional, and he is rewarded with another saved life. 🦭

Squirmy was far too young to be so badly entangled. Poor little guy. But Uncle Naude has saved the day and Squirmy is free to heal and grow and just be a puppy.

Hehe seeing the flash hiding behind the wall was funny. Poor thing having moire than one entanglement. One thing that is good about cape cross is that it is slow for the seals to run the same way as for the rescuers.

I love it when the rescuer has to struggle a bit to hold one down. It shows the little guy is still strong and probably healthy enough to recover fairly quickly. Plus its super cute! My genuine gratitude goes out to every member of these teams for ALL their efforts. THANK YOU!
