This is the first time i saw any animal mother popping out an entire amniotic sac intact. It looked like the baby would suffocate in there. Seems like seagulls aren't exactly a nuisance but actual midwives for Harbor seals (seen in other vids too).
Thank you John for your concern. I am about 100 yards away, using a telephone lens while up on a elevated sidewalk. I am actually in the process of documenting marine mammal disturbance and understand completely how important it is to give seal moms there space.
@@ExperienceWildlife Thanks for the response, Jennifer. I dug a little deeper and discovered that you are teaching others how to do ethical photography. THANK YOU! As a wildlife rescue professional, these topics are very important to me, and even more so to the animals!
She's not confused, she is teaching baby to move. You know they don't immediately get up and move around, she has to teach it. The gulls just want the sack.
😮looked painful but cute baby , we got doctor seagull assisting “ take deep breaths ,push it harder “😅 and bird nurses clean up the mess , group effort - congrats ❤🎉 the whole animal kingdom gets alone minus clueless humans - we have the same birthday yay
Hi,there! Its me, rain! Wow! This is such an amazing and incedible vidio! I love it so much! Good job, mamma! That was a big baby, but you just kept puuuuuushing and puuuuuuushing and puuuuushing, until he was finally out! Way to go! If i chould have been there, i whould have laid a few feet away from her, put my hand on her tummy, and encourged her to just puuuush and puuuush and puuuuush over and over again! I whould have said," come on,girl, come on, come on! You can do it! You can do it! Oooo, yah! Oooo,i know! I know its hard, i know! Come on, oooo, oooo, yah! Puuuush! Puuuuush! Yah, girl, come on, come on, puuuush! Just breath girl, just breath and puuuuuush!" I love it! Rain.
I highly doubt you could lay next to her for any of that, they are wild after all and have a nasty bite. They will charge you once you enter their space.
Cares for it? Was this her first pup? She acted like she wanted nothing to do with the poor guy. I was holding my breath thinking he was going to suffocate in the sack
The magical moment when one of Earth's cutest animal babies takes it's first breath...

I was thinking the exact thing!
Amazing!
How close were you? Such remarkable footage. I'm hoping this is zoomed to give mama plenty of room for a critical moment.

@@jdinosaur My pleasure. I'm just glad there are people out there who care.
Omgosh!! Poor Momma, she was so confused!

Sorry to say the bg music ruined the video.
At first I thought the sea gulls ate the baby 😮
Oh no, it was helping it out of the sack
@@ExperienceWildlife hmm yes I saw that later.. Thank God 😊

It takes time to build bond
No, she was trying to touch noses with it to remember its scent for when it left for food and came back
