Nostalgic, the only car game I played is Need for Speed 18 years ago or something. Enjoyed it a lot. Edit: I remembered another extremely old car, truck game with an open world. Was literally my favourite game next to Operation Flashpoint 18 years ago or more. Forgot its name though, was it "how to drive"? 🤔
I really hope we'll be able to set a marker on our ships actually soon, as that seems to be the biggest issue that holds ground vehicles back aside from just not having a use. Can't joyride too far from the ship, or you might lose it.
So very right Farrister. I've been with Star Citizen since 2014. I immediately brought the Origin X-1 and then the G-12, when they were posted, as I lioe Origins lines and ship models. So, at first, this was acceptable as I was busy with my purchased vehicles and ships. However, after so many years of waiting, and then seeing so many OTHER vehicles that were not even ADVERTISED being brought FULLY into the game, now it's getting a bit frustrating. Thanks for bringing this situation to the forefront.
That's a well done video my friend. I'm looking forward to the inclusion of a few of the vehicles you reviewed. When they came out for concept sale, I pledged for the complete set of Ranger Bikes and the set of G12's. I also have a buy back for an X1 Force that I won in a streamers contest. So I have a vested interest in those vehicles. I know I can only use one at a time, but It would be fun to juat go out and drive for the fun of it on an alien planet or 3. Thanks for the video, Farrister. Please keep making then as I enjoy watching every one. Take care, fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
I think the real use of the Rangers are how SMALL they are. They should fit in just about everything...and not get stuck on rocks or trying to get up a ramp like the Graycat. AND, being a GROUND vehicle, not a hover bike, it won't have as much trouble loading onto a ship (hitting ceiling, etc). You might, for example, be able to drive it up the Cutlass RED's ramp and through the door and park it in between the beds. Stuff like that could be really really useful to players. I'm one of those "don't need the biggest ships to have a good time" players. :D
As long as CIG keeps every corner of every moon and planet covered with billions of rocks ground vehicles are much less fun than they could be, so I hope they adjust that someday.
I have the Ranger TR now, but I am thinking of getting the RC as like, a signature vehicle. Something that makes people go: "Oh, it's a Ranger RC, that has to be Navoii" or smth. Probably won't happen, but a man can dream
I'll keep an eye out for you when it drops! When I first learned of the Ranger I nearly bought the TR, but i don't see a ton of use for the weaponry for me. I could use that the box space of the base model tho! Ive wanted a small ground vehicle that can carry boxes for some time now. That being said, I am curious about the possibility of loading up a bunch of TR's in acargo bay, but point them all out. Get into combat, open up the back hatch and rain a veritable flood of pinprick shots😂. I'm also curious if you could drop the TR out in space and try to do something with that
You know there is a limited finite amount of off world exploration in Stanton, so people need to get their ground game on because the only way to get any additional exploration value is to look inward to the surfaces of these planets and moons.
Whenever anyone asks me "What are ground vehicles in this game even for, anyway?," I reply: Do you in tend to have a home/ outpost of your own someday? If so, WHAT are you going to DEFEND it with? Hmmm?
You forgot to mention that the X1 is designed to be carried on a 400i and the ship has a special elevator and bay just to hold the X1. I am not sure the Storm is going to be more 'accesible' tank as so far it still looks like it won't fit in anything smaller than C2. For a while it looked like it might fit in the wide Corsair bay but apparently it won't so it is hard to see the point 😒
@@Farrister Well in terms of describing how useful an X1 might be, which is what you were doing, then I think it relevant to know that if you already own a 400i then this will be a better choice than a dragonfly or Nox etc. as it wont take up any cargo space. BTW, I was not criticising your video. I just thought you had forgotten rather than deciding it was not relevant. I forget a lot of things.
can't say that any of those get me excited, the ranger is neat but it's like telling me they're adding a bike. ok cool, why is it not in yet though. i'd almost be more interested in something for fun, like a pedal bicycle, skis or a snowboard to go wild on those mountain ranges. that would be fun to do.
We need a Big City with roads and Houses / Places what we can buy for the upcoming ground vehicles! That would be awesome and is completely left out right now
Absolutely! Although I feel like it would take away from the homey feeling of ships like the 890j and the carrack that have huge interiors for living in. But maybe they could make it so that whenever a player buys a house on a planet it converts a building that’s just for looks and the area around it into a player living space with things like procedurally generated interiors. So say a building can hold 20 players each and after that fills up the next closest building to it becomes an actual area with some small shops and actual working buildings that allow players to get houses. And maybe while in this area you can join a secondary sever with the players that live in that area and invite them. Cause having every building become real would be huge and impossible. But it could make it so that certain home locations become rare and sought after and they do expansions to cities maybe once a year where if you get a house in that time it becomes valuable. So places like New Babbage become valuable since it’s a small city compared to “I forgot the name of the city planet” and the terrain is quite beautiful.
Gib X1. The Nox needs to work with the X1 bike bay easily in the meantime. Im also expecting a reconcept of the G12 to make it more competitive with the URSA. Right now the URSA has much more utility compared to the G12.
You should have named it 4 upcoming ground vehicles similar to how you named your upcoming ship videos. More people would click on it. Can you still change the names of already uploaded videos?

You can with a personal service beacon
Ive seen guys pick up a package mission and don't deliver it so they can just track the mission to find their ship. Not ideal but it does work
Hit Alt+1 after targeting
Your ship and it'll leave a marker on it
It seems to work intermittently for me, sometimes it shows the ladder, sometimes it vanishes

The Ranger TR will be the perfect companion for my little Cutter. Judging by the measurements it will fit perfectly in the 4 SCU Cargoarea.
Seems like it'll sneak into a few places!
Damn, well done again Farrister!! Another video under the belt with some great info. Thanks for sharing and keeping the info flowing!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

Can’t wait to see any of these concepts in game.

Perhaps! I'll enjoy trying out a Ranger, I think
Ranger TR, Star Citizen's riff on the Lawmaster, the iconic bike of Mega City One's Judges!!
Sadly lost me with that reference :(
@@Farrister Ah!! Not a reader (in your youth) then of comics, like 2000 A.D.? Not familiar with the stories of Judge Dredd? My apologies!!

You know you're right, there are a lot of rocks...

Plus, red...
Red is the reason of all time
Been drooling over the Ranger. I would be extremely happy if it legit fits inside the Pisces.
That's pure speculation on my part, but seems potentially possible?
The X1 will make the 400i even more awesome! But I hope the G12 will fit into it as well, these vehicles are so epic. 😍
So stylish!
Yes and I have brought BOTH of them, yet, WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY??? 😢
I look forward to trying to leap out of the back of a moving Avenger on one of the Rangers, just to see if it will work. Expect fireworks!
"Fireworks" :D
the Ranger and the G12 look great i will be picking up the Ranger when it ever drops in game
Hopefully for cheap aUEC!

More relevant to the 400i than the X1 though, no? But yes, the front "garage" for it :)

Remember when Chris said we would need to use ground vehicle travel for planets that have terrible weather?
Pepperridge Farms remembers...
lol
It would be nice if hover vehicles weren’t targeted by AA guns though.
The X1 would be cool to race
I think a few of them could have some cool racing
I wonder if SC will ever have enough ArcCorp city area to be a true Cyberpunk 2077 alternative.
I would soooooooooooooo love that! 🥰

Hopefully relatively quick to develop? Who knows!
