On "My Car Story" we're in Volo IL on 5-9-20.
We're looking at a 1967 Oldsmobile Olds 442 Cutlass Supreme Sports Coupe in Spanish Red Paint. The car features the factory 400 CI V8 engine.
Today I'm speaking with Jay Grams, Buyer / Co-Owner of the Volo Auto Museum. This car looks like it’s in showroom condition.
The car's located at Volo Auto Museum, 27582 Volo Village Rd., Volo IL 60073. Web site is www.VoloCars.com If you love cars (Hollywood, Classic, Muscle, Antique), and Military equipment, memorabilia, and mementos then you must stop by this location.
ENJOY!
These big body 442s are great cars... What a ride ! Thanks for posting Lou ! Thanks to Jay too !

Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Happy to read you enjoy the looks & sounds of this car :-) Fun taking you for a ride, my pleasure, and you're welcome, Lou
Just beautiful Lou! This car is awesome in the red with the red line tires and chrome wheels. Loved that engine sound and the giddie up and go it has! Really nice unit Lou and the owner as usual is awesome too! Thanks for sharing Lou!
Hi Steve, Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Once again you bring back memories. My Dad had a 1966 Olds Cutlass Supreme 4 door hardtop red with a black vinyl top. Not a 400 but it's little brother a 330 4 barrel it also said ultra high compression use premium fuel on the air cleaner. That car was a big departure for my Dad because he always drove 6 cyl Chevys. I spent many hours washing and waxing that car. He didn't let me drive it very much because he said I had a lead foot and would get too many tickets with it.
Hi grant wright, Happy to read this car brings back memoirs of your Dad's 66 :-) Sounds like Dad kept you out of trouble too, Lou
Lou, We always have time for an Oldsmobile.
Hi Right Lane Hog, Happy to read you enjoy viewing the Oldsmobiles :-) Lou
Yeah man Lou! I’ve always liked the 66’ and 67’ Olds, 4-4-2 or whatever Olds, I like them all! Good deal Lou, very good deal! Keep on keeping on my friend! My cousin had a 64’ 4-4-2 with the 330 Rocket engine and 2 speed automatic ( Olds version of the powerglide trans). But that car would absolutely scream, he tried every way he could to blow that engine up and he couldn’t do it! He would drop it down into first gear and run it up to 70-75 mph and then hit second gear, geez! lol!
Hi Hensley’s Hobbies, Happy to read this one brings back fun memories of your Cousins 4-4-2 :-) Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
Lou Costabile - YW buddy, thank you!
Well, look who it is! Didn't know you were subbed to this channel!
Red 13 - oh yeah, been watching Lou for a long time! What’s up Mark?! ✌🏻
All 1964 Olds 4-4-2s were 4 speeds, no automatics.
Great car Lou, I've had 5 oldsmobiles, first was a 67 Cutlass Supreme, 330 w/ 2 spd. automatic .One of my most fav cars.! Had a 73 442 ,with a hurst 4 spd, 455,and 3.42 rear end. That car saw a lot of cruising and street action! Drank a lot of gas, but it was cheap back then.! Thanks for sharing this beautiful 442!
Hi Kevin, Happy to read you're a Fan of the Brand. You've had some fun cars & memories for sure :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
In '64, 442 stood for 4 Barrel, 4 Speed, Dual Exhaust due to the 330 cu in motor. In '65 with the new 400 cu in motor, it stood for 400, 4 Barrel, Dual Exhaust.

A high quality restoration.. You can tell this baby was done RIGHT!!
Looks showroom new :-)
I bet miles of smiles with this baby!!
Exactly :-)
I belong to Buick Club Of America, but have driven to club events in cars other than Buicks. One of our Chapter members has a 1967 Pontiac GTO with only 12,000 original miles, and this 442 reminds me a lot of that car, except that the GTO has a 4-speed.. This Olds is one of those cars that is a perfect 10 just like this episode, Lou. Thanks so much. Our Buick Club Chapter has visiting the Volo Museum on our things to do list if the virus stuff ever goes away.
Hi Fred and Debra MacDonald, Happy to read you enjoy this episode & reminded you of that 67 GTO with only 12K miles too :-) If you're Buick Club would like to do a "Zoom" video conference call one evening with the topic being "On-line Car Shows" I have a 45 minute presentation. Feel free to have the President reach out, my e-mail is trupowr@yahoo.com, Lou
I have 1966 f85 olds just rebuilt motor n trans and ready to Drive Fun in Da Sun 😎

This is really a car done right. By the way, those are Louvres, not scoops, but that’s okay. Also, not sure if you thought that the automatic was a rare option, it’s not. The 4-4-2 numbers originally in 1964 stood for 4 speed 4 barrel 2 (dual exhaust). However, in 1965 they changed the numbers scheme to mean 400 CI....4 barrels...dual exhaust, because the automatic was now an option in 1965 and up.

Great video Lou love watching your channel you dont see many early 442's at the shows where I live usually it's the 1968 through 1972 442 I see. My dad had had a buddy in high school that had a blue 67 442 with a automatic he lost control of it and ran off the road in a creek bed and the car turned up on its driver's side. As always looking forward to seeing your next video.
Hi PlymouthDuster 225, Happy to read this one brings back memories of your Dad's Buddy's car and the end result was ok :-0 Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
My father had a regular olds cutlass 4 door hard top in gold with a black vinyl top. I think it had a 330 v8 with a 2 bbl. It was the first car I drove on a regular basis and looking at the dashboard brought back memories. It was the same layout with the small glove box
Hi Robert, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Fathers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Lou
Beautiful car inside and out, I never owned a 442 but i did have 2 grand pa Oldsmobile's 1960 and 1965. I always enjoy your car story and taking a look back in time. Thanks Lou!

That car sounds great it must have a little cam on top of the 10.5 to 1 compression
Hi Joe L, Happy to read you're enjoying the sounds from this car :-) Lou
It's nice to see a 1967 Oldsmobile restored almost to the way it was then. I think there must have been some trim and detailing added, though.
Hi Jed Clampett, Not sure if there was any extra trim added on this one, and I agree with you, nice to see one look like it came off the showroom floor :-) Lou
Volo always has some of the best.
One day maybe I can stop at their business.
Thanks Lou.
Hi Gary, FUN place :-) Hope you can stop by soon, Lou
My brother had a 69 442. 455 4 spd muncey 411 posi w/850 double pump Holley. Was crazy fast. We had a lot of fun with it back in the day. Couldnt take off without tires breaking. Cops usually thought it was done on porpose.
Hi Michael McLaughlin, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Brothers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Beautiful car.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
@loucostabile my mom had the four door Oldsmobile then in 71 my dad got a Olds cutless and i had a 83 cutless and now i have a 69 Olds
Music to my ears!!
Just the way we like it :-)
Amen to that!!
Love that body style
Nice :-)
Thanks very much
My pleasure, and you're welcome Robert.
Always lots of room under the hood when there's no air conditioning. Beautiful car, looks like it's never left the showroom, but a bit too basic for today. I have to have my A/C. Have to have power windows too; this car has manual windows. But the body shape is just gorgeous. Love the sailpanels that give it a semi-fastback silhouette.
Fun to see a car when it's well restored. Takes you right back to the year it was introduced.
I have a 1966 Olds starfire for sale with a 425 mint condition looks a lil like this one
