@@loucostabile @4:12, the headlight configuration of having the parking light separating the dual headlights was unique at that time IIRC? It gave the Olds a WIDER look!

I used to have a '66 Dynamic 88 coupe. I loved that car. 425 2bbl. The interior was what I loved about it, a forest green sort of color, metal flake blue exterior. The front seats were getting trashed but everything else was perfect, even the tube AM radio worked. It was big and comfortable and a great highway car. I've always wanted a 442, though.

Beautiful original ‘67 4-Barrel, 4-Speed, 2-Exhaust 4-4-2. A friend of ours owned a silver automatic back in the day. I remember they referred to the car as “The Handler”, and it was very true to its nickname. I had the experience of driving it, and it was a joy. Like a much lighter sports-car, it stayed level when pushed hard in a curve, with excellent control. Great memories.

Hi, Lou! Well, after that leisurely ride in the Pierce-Arrow we're back to the heady fast rides again! Actually, it was Chevrolet that called its black paint Tuxedo Black. Olds called it Ebony Black. But be that as it may, it makes this car look really slick and so does that shiny vinyl top and the overall styling. That kid was wasn't kidding, this car is badass!
As we flip through the treats in the trunk, the Cutlass was an up-and-coming name, and 1967 was the first year that name was used on a wagon, and the last year the F-85 name was used on one. Also, on a note of notoriety, it was an Ebony Black 1967 Delmont 88 sedan that Ted Kennedy was driving at Chappaquiddick.
I give 442 thanks to both of you for putting us all out front with you guys in this Supreme Rocket action muscle machine!
    P.S. Tim, love the shirt!

The Shorter stroke E block 400 used in 1966-67 was a bit more responsive than the 1968-69 G block 400 which had a slightly smaller bore and longer stroke.

It was a year old when he bought it and was a huge step up from the 6 cylinder Chevy's he had up until them. That 330 Olds V8 was a strong runner. It had the same "Ultra high Compression, use premium fuel on the air cleaner. He later had a 75 Delta 88 and I had a 76 Delta 88 Royal 2 door hardtop with the 455 in it.

The Delta 88 Custom was a replacement attempt for the Starfire. In fact, the entire Starfire option package was carried over to the Custom.
Those "flat pieces" in the taillight assemblies are reflectors.
'66 and up Olds engines have the best exhaust sound of all GM V-8s. Flipping the air cleaner lid adds greatly to the exhaust sound, once those golf ball-sized secondaries open up

Lou, I was so excited to see you had a 67 442 featured, I almost forgot to click the like button before the video started. !! I had a 67 Supreme painted in ultramarine blue metallic. I wish I still had it.! I had the 330 c.i. w/ the power slide trans. This is a cool 442.! Tim is a very fortunate guy to have this car. I can tell he takes great care of it, too. ! I could tell you were very excited to feature this Olds. ! Great ride with the 4 spd & the right amount of pedals. ! Thanks Lou & Tim.!

Had a 1967 maroon red black interior cutlass. Supreme 330 cubic inch with a 4 barr carb. But that two speed transmission blew, that up. What a great car unless it rained. You remember doing a 360° turn in front of a bunch of trees in front of my grandparents' house. Praying very quickly hit nothing amazing. What's it even going that fast? Just cruising along at about 30 miles an hour. Hit a Patra rain, and that was it. In dry weather, a fabulous car except wet weather hard as heck. To see out, the rear on the right side Near impossible. Comfortable fast, as long as it was dry. I guess they were all like that on those mid-size cars' light in the back. Great car anyway.

ahhhhhhhh.. nothing like seeing my first car that i still own today.. my dad bought this same model in 1988 or so, and had it parked sitting under covered parking from my age 10 to 18 and i WANTED this to be my first car! he said its mine when i graduate high school.. its black on black on black. 1967 442 cutlass supreme! mostly original. he had it painted black and was unhappy with the result and primer'd a few spots and i didnt know the paint was actually pretty good under those spots. but like he said when i graduated i received it. he found a 1972 442 engine, and put it in to have 455 cu... i drove it for 2 years and ended up parking it because he had moved to australia and i didnt know s about fixing cars. 9 years later i got the muster up to get it running! through the years of him coming back and forth to america and australia shipping 1956 f100's , 1965 mustangs, and mg's over there, we worked on tons of cars and trucks. so with that knowledge i took the carb off and gave it to an old hot rod guy who was the mechanic for ground service equipment at a private airport at mccarran las vegas. i was a line guy and told him stories of how i wanted to get it running. we talked quite a bit since i was always driving old cars to work.. anyway that was all i needed to get the ball rolling. after putting the original rochester on, from there i did all the consumables and it fired right up! sounded amazing its a sound ill never ever forget. i drove the s out of it. eventually lost 1st gear.. then 2nd gear and parked it again. and its been sitting since. i have the original numbers matching block/heads everything but its completely taken apart for rebuild.. my dads getting older 78 and still going hard on f100's.. in june we are going to rebuild the tranny and original engine and put it back in. i need to install disc brakes on the front and all the suspension needs replaced. in the years i discovered red/orange paint under the black.. i assumed it was the original paint and became super excited to repaint it back to original! but, unfortunately i discovered the paint code is on the plate on the fire wall and its GG.. not as happy. but, nonetheless,, still going forward with making it original as possible again. had so many good times in it ill never sell it. i plan to get a 1972 442 with a missing engine, and put my 455 into that. he bought a 1972 442 lightly used in 73 but sold it a few years later, only to see it wrapped around a pole going to work one day. all true details! hope to use some crypto gains to fund these projects! we have both invested in HEX coin $0.20 and the same founders soon to be released pulse chain / pulseX coins.. if youre interested to check it out, the community founded a nascar for this sundays daytona 500 !!! #55 jj yeley will be attempting to qualify for it using the HEX . I've had some Beautiful ❣️ cutlasses and camaroes ,,never a 442 thOugh!🤗💦!
I t all began w my Dad 💞 gettin my brother💙a Dodge he wanted ,if he'd give me his 7 3 Cutlass Supreme W a 350 Rocket I went to pick it up ,and immediately almost went thru the windshield when I lightly stepped in gas and lightly ( thank God ) applied the brakes💨💦!!
Mind you ,my Dad told me a few yrs later he'd had a " doodad,"( my word,☺️)put under the pedal because my bro had ( prob still has,,) quite a lead foot. It must run in the family🌝‼️ He waxed m washed this car constantly, whereas I go yrs w out a carwash but boy did I LovE that car I fell in luv w Cutlasses for many reasons ,wound up buying a white n black (!! Maybe been up painted black ..BTM half) 72 Cutlass same engine,a couple 77s..and many Camaroes from 75 + up Rally Sports mostly .I'm rt now in the market for a car hopefully Cutlass or Camaro.Slim chc it'll be in the years Id prefer it to be ( pre 84). These cars mentioned , I owned between 1983-2010.Mixed in were a 75 Monte Carlo and a cpl 78 a also ,a couple Buick Regals 79s , oh I CANT leave out my BELOVED 3 Novas !The car I literally couldn't kill if I tried was a bright orange 75 Nova w A 6 cyl, that I Paid $75 for. Yes $75 it's prob still cruising around tonight somewhere😁👍‼️,a 75 Merc Cougar ,a 79 eldarado, a 79 lincoln 73 duster even a 70 black Maverick My very 1st ca var ,a few mustangs and even an AMC javeline !!,A 66: Ridge Dart .. etcetc. and a couple I'm intentionally blocking out😃‼️. My 86 pink CamarO. Bubblegum pink exact color of barbies car and.oh how I honestly loved that car. I didn't plan on listing 95% of cars I've owned🤗😏☺️‼️Pardon the long spiel ‼️💦All in All though I've had very good luck w cars ,due to learning alot lil by lil about em.Id never by choice pick any thing over aCutlas or Camaro ( though an ol Nova is right up there,at least out of the vehicles I've owned). PS as much as I don't wanna mention this u can't leave out my lil black Monza I paid a C- NOTE for, which the seller bit only painted by hand w a paint brush (!!😏👍) !!!!,he proceeded to tell me about every explicit detail of the painting of the car..I HADDA year the bill if sale outta his s hand to finnnnaallpy get outta there 😤🙄🥴😄‼️💦 🔥🔥💫🔥🔥 nothin like a bad*** Cutlass Supreme🔥🥰💨💨💨💨💨💫💫💨‼️

Look closely at the brochure on the very last page with the charts! And you will notice that they (car companies) used to brag about their "specs"!!! Listed in that list the Oldsmobile 442 had 350 horsepower and 440 foot pounds of torque out of a 400 cubic inch engine!
Car companies don't brag up those figures much these days!!!
