It only took me 7 minutes to figure out what's wrong on my head drawings because of this video, thanks mate its super helpful
Something that people don't mention about learning to draw faces is how important it is to learn the anatomy of the skull. It's as crucial as learning realism before stylization. People skip realism and end up having grotesque facial proportions on their characters. You're not stylizing, you're just drawing it wrong.
Don't skip the very basics otherwise you're gonna have a VERY rough art learning journey.
I agree. If you skip realism, you’ll have your faces looking worse than the grotesque heads of money spiders 💀💀💀💀
But isn't the face sketch like Loomis a simpler way to represent the fundamental form of the face? Drawing a skull doesn't seem like a beginner thing but more like a guide to use when doing more tedious realistic faces.
@@YoEnzo655 not exactly. The Loo is does represent the face in a simple way, but knowing the depth of the eye sockets, and the overall shape of the skull and it will give you a better understanding. The Loo is method is great for first starting off and works great as a guideline, but it isn’t strictly necessary to know the full details of the skull, but it greatly helps
@kingideaofficial I see. I'm really new to drawing so I'll stick to Loomis for now but I'll consider using the skull anatomy further on.

Thank you for making these ''learn to draw something in something days months''. Sure youre not gonna be magnificent at drawing it in that short amount of time but the fact that theres a structured schecule and routine helps A LOT, like a lot to improve. And if you feel like youre lacking you can just redo it all again (which in most cases happends atleast to me)

Thanks a lot for this study schedule and exercises, I'll definitely try it! Incredible timing on the video because this is exactly what I've been trying to improve at recently. I have been trying other angles as well, upwards / downwards and also if the angle is not exactly 3/4, and I find those quite hard to do, because it's a little hard to determine the size of the side circle of the loomis method, and also where to place the chin (especially from the upward / downward angle). Anyway, thank you again for this video, I really appreciate it, I have been unsuccessful with my recent attempts so I lost a bit of motivation, but this video gives me a bit of motivation!
I hope marc and his team continue to find ways to earn good money outside of directly charging for these videos. This is on target to be the greatest youtube school of all time

In all honesty, I struggle so much with clothing folds. I know how they look, I just have no idea where they should go. It would be much appreciated if you made a second tutorial, but don’t let me dictate your uploading schedule.

Honestly mark i think this can be in one evening or beeing realistic, in two days Max, if you wanna know how to draw heads, focus on the most detail part, the low part, a circle Is good but just as a guide, in a case where i can put the basic shapes in perspective ok, all right, but then you realize That the facial features are important too, the Head Is complex, study the skull, why everything Is like It Is, Lear to do eyes, nose, ears (those ones are tricky) 'cause if you know basic perspective you can make a Head using a box, just like Kim jung gi use to do.
The point of ot being stretched out is to make sure you eat the things you learn in small portions, if you do it all in one night itll be easier to forget

Just learn different eye shapes, maybe use a different eyebrow shape aswell

Love your videos, but imagine if you used your Discord server to its full capacity. The weekly challenges are great, but I don't always feel compelled to complete them. If we all had an area to post our results we could help each other out and interact more. I would certainly be more compelled to socialise on the server, especially if we're all practising the same challenge or communicating with other people on the same term.

Marc for 20+ years you have been an artist. Have you ever experienced carpal tunnel syndrome or wrist pain?
On the third day, can the drawings be of different characters from the same artist or should all 3 drawings (or 6) be the same exact character?
Does this also apply to traditional artists?
