Thank you, doctors, for doing all this research and sharing it with us. I am from the US and have listened to probably 200 YT videos on hormones. 56 yo and in the late stage of perimenopause, started HRT about a month ago…still adjusting delivery systems and doses, but my musculoskeletal pain has gone away. 😊Looking forward to more benefits, especially the long term on brain, heart and bones. Thank you, thank you!!

Thanks for everything you do. So wish there were women’s only health clinics that focus on hormones where I live in the Canadian prairies.

I dont know if you will be able to reply..but I have a question about post menopause and depression: If you have always struggled with hormonal depression and mood..if post menopause has left you with apathetic depression, loss of interest in most things...my question is..has my brain now lost the chemicals/hormones that help to elevate mood? Is that gone for good? Is it the reason stimulants and antidepressants now don't work as well??
I have been searching for this answer.
    Thanks

In one of the interviews Dr Newson did with a psychiatrist with knowledge of the role of hormones, the guest doctor explained that without sufficient estradiol present (i.e. menopause), antidepressants don’t work properly. This is not necessarily taught in medical schools, however.

If you haven’t already discovered Dr. Mary Claire Haver on UA-cam she has lots of great information. You would most likely benefit from hormone therapy, estradiol and progesterone and possibly testosterone. In Canada or the US you can search on the North American Menopause Society for a menopause specific trained practitioner in your area. There are similar organizations/websites in the UK and Australia.
