Today is August 10th, 2022 and I wore braids for years until I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time and now my hair is growing back for the second time from having breast cancer again. I loved wearing braids. I was work 3 jobs and braids were the best way to wear my hair and my hair grew like crazy it went passed my shoulders.
I just did my 2nd set of mini braids on the 14th. The 1st set was interlocked for 6mths and it really did grow my hair! Thinking about leaving these up forever and wearing braidlocs...
I have been very very intentional with my protective styling since February 4 , 2023. I have removed and washed at 5 weeks and have been going strong on this protective style stretch since then. I had 8 cornrows (no weave) and now I have 14 loose big indiv crochet locs. (the locs are looped thru my own hair and I wrapped my braid/twist inside the loc). I then wrapped with some kinky hair I had around the house. I will wear these until late May/early June. I mostly wear them with head wraps and one loc with a bead attached dangling outside my headwrap. I still greenhouse every couple of days as well.
You sound like you got this all planned out. I wish you the best on your natural hair journey! What are some of your hair goals? What's the greenhouse method?
I love me some mini braids! I would always add beads at the end lol. I would moisturize and wash weekly and my hair has been growing like weed! This is technically my signature hairstyle and I’m loving it :) your video is very informative and I appreciate that❤️
lmaooo i have this problem but i learned to just put bobby pins in when im sleeping to help stretch it and when i wake up its all layed down flat n i dont look like a damn ant anymore 😂😂😂
Yes, you can wash your hair in braids. If you don't want to use shampoo, use a cleansing rinse e.g. African Pride Braid and Scalp Cleansing Rinse. Thanks for watching! :-)
If people are distracted by you adjusting your glasses then they really need to get a life! I didn’t notice it until you said something. Are you supposed to just let the glasses fall off your face? 😂 Now THAT would be distracting. ❤ your video, it was very informative!

Nice transition! How's the maintenance like? I would've done the same, but I don't know if I can commit to locs right now

When you leave you hair alone you will retain length cause our hair is always growing
That’s true! Thanks for tuning in :-)

Hi, thank you for the video, I like it. Is it good to wash hair in braids? I want to do it but I’m not sure if so.

I’m glad you enjoyed this video nevertheless ☺️
Am growing my hair, but am afraid to comb it out 🥺
Why?
You can finger detangle instead.
@@Hairwith_D thats useless 🥺🤷🏾♂️
Lol it's useless b/c you're not doing it properly. You can spritz a little water in it and some leave in conditioner and comb it with an Afro pick
@@Hairwith_D or growing hair is not for me
Just comb it baby you 👍 try using oil to detangle
You look so beautiful
Thank you 😊
how long do you leave them in ?
Around a month or so. Thanks for watching!
