A large scale conventional war with moving frontlines on a map would be pretty unrealistic for a modern day second civil war in the US. The vast majority of Americans on either side and in between don’t want all out war or haven’t really thought about what it would actually entail. If anything happens it would most likely resemble something like the Troubles conflict in Northern Ireland - pockets of conflict and civil unrest.

This is a largely unrealistic scenario. Texas fighting for independence as a United front is first off wrong, there are millions of democrats in Texas who would oppose leaving staunchly, alongside loyalist moderates. Secondly, you assume entire states would secede, but let’s not forget we live under a stronger federal government than we do in the 1800s. States won’t just secede, there will be pushback, especially from cities who trend blue. Having the navy and all of the cities will be a major advantage for the democrats, that’s why I think they’d win. Just my feedback, because civil wars in the US don’t tend to go well for the seceders.
The south is the poorest region of America and would barely be able to scrape up a militia and would infight Texas would just be a slightly more coherent militia but then the army would kick them down Wyoming idaho new mexico utah and nevada would not be able to amass anything that could stand up and they are so far away from any assisting army that thry would get crushed All in all red would quickly get crushed and it would just be like the real civil war where the south had to persecute the army but knew they couldn't win but more helpless in this world
Most of the military is Republican, the police are republican, the 12 million gun owners are republican, the farmers are republican, and the business men are republican.
