@@JulesJules707most gen 3 tacos were also assembled in Mexico… fun fact, they’ve been building Tacomas/Hilux in Mexico for decades! Major components like drive train are built in the US. As far as price goes, everything is expensive these days. My ‘22 taco OR premium was nearly $48K msrp. My new trd OR was just under $44K msrp. #1 and #4 are very easy to fix. The front lip is easy to remove by unscrewing 4 screws. The grill will have several aftermarket options, so there's no need to complain about it. Grab a grill from a trd pro or trail hunter when they release later this year. Make sure you go by a dealer and ask to see a trd pro model as well as a trailhunter model, and then take a picture of the VIN for both vehicles. That way, if parts department asks you for your VIN in order to get trd pro/trailhunter accessories, you can give it to them expeditiously. The Gen 3 tacomas were notorious for being gatekeeped by dealerships, demanding that you provide them with a VIN for a trd pro grill.

Turbo Powertrain less reliable than aspirated, bad mpg, less towing, 4 or 5 inch less room in back = 2024 a down graded truck compared to 2023, and cost 10k more put nail in the coffin.

@@asajayunknown6290 Everything is calculated for the customer and tested to make sure it is up to Toyota traditional standard. Again, they know what are doing. Toyota moving to turbos has every truck owner freaking out. They’ve been making turbos for many years now it’s not complicated.

@xxk4rilsxx I hope you are correct. I have serious doubts. This isn't the Toyota of the Toyoda family anymore. I wonder if kaizen is even a tenet? But, time will tell. We'll know which of us is more right in 4-5 years. But the sample size is going to be MUCH smaller. At this price point, they will be suffering lot rot in many parts of the US.

@@asajayunknown6290 I don’t want to sound like a Toyota Fanboy but I’ve been in many Ubers in Miami/New York with 2020 Corollas / 2019 RAV4s / 2018 Camrys with 300-450k miles and the drivers claim their vehicle has been reliable and no big issues. If Toyota got those vehicles right the first generation I’m sure they did fine on the truck / SUV generation but even if they didn’t they have a good history of fixing what they messed up even if it’s out of warranty.

@xxk4rilsxx i agree that historically, Toyotas can last forever. Today's Toyota is different. Even Scotty Kilmer is starting to diss them. As I said, we shall see.🤔 I wonder how many of those long-term vehicles you mentioned had a "J" in their VIN? Different era.

They look cheap as hell with the factory wheel and tire setups and so much exposed plastic. My normal dealership wants $45k for a basic SR5 model and it looks like a $20k fleet truck companies like autozone would use, also the body design is horrible in certain areas. Stand 20+ feet away looking at the truck from the side. The area between the rear wheel in the cab looks dented to hell on all of them. Because it’s not a dent, that’s actually the shape they chose. Likely why this reviewer chose a white truck because the body shape looks worse with darker colors.
