Another great video. I like how you pause while showing the selection at the store so we can look as well. Most of the big channels just show you a blurry glance and we as viewers cant see anything. Keep up the good work!
Good luck finding any allotment on the shelf in the Minneapolis area. You either have to ask or get to know a salesperson pretty well for them to show them. Luckily, I've gotten to know mine and regularly let's me know when they arrive.
I discuss allotments a little bit in my next video. It's interesting to see what's considered allocated in different areas. For example, in the Mpls area I didn't see a single Blanton's and the only Buffalo Trace I saw was either in a case or in the back room and considered highly allocated at $50. Here in Iowa a shelf full of Buffalo Trace is reasonably common at $25.
Not a whole lot of special bottles but i did spot 1 real gem in there you shouldn't have pased on .they don'tmake it anymore and it wasn't ridiculously marked up.not gonna mention what it was because obviously it wasn't special to you personally or you would have bought it but i would have considered it a real score .
Looks like you were out in the ham lake area. Minnesota is firmly beer and canadian whiskey territory. Not gonna find anything crazy for the most part. Mostly heaven hill.
Also, at the 4:14 mark. Bottom shelf, between the Old Grandad and Evan Williams white label there’s a single bottle of Very Old Barton. That’s a nice find.
That's a really good question. The simplest answer I could give is that I don't care what's in the "locked case" and I hope that idea is clear in my videos. I'm looking for and encouraging my viewers to look for the hidden gems on the shelf at great prices. For example, the full shelf of McKenna 10 in my thumbnail for $52.99 vs a few miles away where only one bottle was available inside of a locked case for $79.99. I use McKenna as an example because where I'm from it's not far from being a "locked case" bottle. I referenced this example clearly in the video. Here's another example from the video. Buffalo Trace is fairly available where I'm from. It's not uncommon to see a shelf full in the $25 range. In Minnesota it was considered highly allocated and was either in a locked case for $49.99 or being held in the back room. A few locked case bottles shown in the video which I would never buy or recommend buying because they're priced between $200-$500 Barrel Kentucky Owl Whistle Pig Chicken Cock Islander Garrison Bros Widow Jane Vaults. Thanks for the question!
If you don’t mind me asking, where about in MN was that store with the knob creek 12? I live down in SE MN and I’ve been looking everywhere near me, but haven’t been able to find it
@@lilybdrinks not super close to me but I’ll have to check it out if I’m ever up in the cities, thanks! Don’t worry I’ll leave some good stuff for you ;)

Scotch whisky review some
Buddy, where are these stores you're stopping at?
Ha, I know a couple of these spots. Used to deliver wine for one of em
What a fun trip! I have never seen McKenna stocked on a shelf so full!
I wonder if they stopped in at spiritz liquor in melrose minnesota...HUGE bourbon selection!
Pretty interesting - Binny's in Chicago is another massive place. They have whiskeys in the thousands. They have one for like 5k.

Elijah Craig Barrel proof 😭😭😭 I've never seen it here in Chicago
Dang! We've got shelves full here. It goes both ways but I guess that makes it fun
You can find it in the burbs.
I can get KC 12 here in Chicago Land .

Yes I was! Believe it or not, MN has an amazing selection that we don't. I'll feature some on the next video.
I would take that Knob Creek 12 all day over the McKenna 10. For $63 I would stock up in the KC.
I'm realizing this. I did pick up one but can't wait to get more. Thanks for watching!

@dracht good eye. Luckily vob is everywhere in my area. All strengths and sizes so I passed it up in Minnesota.
Some spots you panned around the locked cases.. why tf would we want to see the bottles of Kessler and jack Daniel's

Hello! ! Is there a recommended online shopping website for bourbon whiskey that can ship internationally to Taiwan? ! I live in Taipei, Taiwan
If you don’t mind me asking, where about in MN was that store with the knob creek 12? I live down in SE MN and I’ve been looking everywhere near me, but haven’t been able to find it
Only if you promise to hold some good stuff for me! Star liquor in Blaine. Amazing selection and even better prices. (Not sponsored)

@@BigMeatyClaws212 I believe there is a Star liquor in Austin. Not sure if its related but might be worth a look closer to you.
That’s about half the distance for me so I’ll definitely have to check that out sometime! Thanks for the info!!
@@BigMeatyClaws212 don't forget the spam museum and green giant while you're over there!
I recognized my local honey hole from the thumbnail immediately
You're so lucky to be local to there! The best selection of the whole trip
They just had a raffle last week for 16 blantons and 9 EHT single barrels. No luck though
@@coltonr5741 I saw that. Wished I was in the area. Ace spirits has a raffle going on for gts. Not sure of the specifics
