Elkins the head of the board has backed Tavares on every bad decision. I have to wonder why Elkins wanted to give up so much value on his investments? A high priced escort would have cost him much less. What is going on between these to men?
He's actually not stupid in reality.. He raised the prices dramatically so that he and the top tiers of the Company become filthy rich knowing good and well it would destroy the company.. why you say? Well they are part of the Democrat party machine that wants to destroy the car industry and thusly the USA.
No V8 for half ton Ram anymore. They expect a 3 litre straight 6 with no dipstick to do the work of a V8. Get rid of the foreign dipstick CEO that doesn't understand the American market.
Why do you need a dipstick which years ago was proven very inaccurate unless done at the proper conditions. Monitors in the engine far better and that was true when I retired from big diesel engine manufacturing. Dipstick was more of a requirement to meet policies of some companies but really worthless.
These cars are too dam expensive, too much luxury, people can not afford them, Jeep, Ram never was to be that design, people’s want reasonable prices Tavares wants profit and raises for him the workers are suffering do they care? And electric is a LOST CAUSE! !
I disagree. Cheap 4 cylinder turbo engines in suv and other heavy vehicles that are not designed for such loads is not the solution. Relying on the turbo of a 4 cylinder engine to get the same HP and torque you would get out of a 6/8 cylinder engine. IS NOT THE ANSWER. Using a 4 cylinder turbo engine to make claims of better fuel economy is a red herring. Dancing around the solution by making complicated, convoluted, and none essential changes will not solve the problem. The real and only solution is to lower prices to pre 2020 levels and thus inform investors of lower profits. Bottom Line. This is how a market shift works. Consumers have spoken.
The industry as a whole needs to go back to the drawing boards and include the government . I truly believe that a bare bones vehicle that could be sold at a low price would sell well. The government also needs to realize that the emissions requirements need to be a bit more sliding. We don't have smaller trucks due to emissions and fuel mpg requirements. So we are fed huge trucks that are expensive luxury cars. If the domestics builders are to remain in business things really have to change. I don't think the auto manufacturers as a whole have been building what the public wants for a while. They just build it and we are expected to buy it.
A portfolio of undesirable brands + poor quality vehicles + ridiculously high prices + not meeting consumer requirements + EV push + bad parts availability + lack of innovation + poor warranty coverage + bad engineering + investing profits into R&D of non-profitable brands + CEO salary = Stellantis “The dumpster of automotive brands”. 🤷♂️What could go wrong??
Even if you can buy a Jeep or Ram for cheap, my fear would be that Stellantis files for bankruptcy and a year later all the dealerships are gone. Now you can't get warranty coverage, and even getting parts to do out-of-pocket repairs becomes very hard.
Why are they saying they’re giving them away cheap. Then tell us the prices are going up, which they are. My Jeep store only has 5 and are expensive. They jacked up the price then give a discount that’s still over the original price.
Simple. As prices rise sales fall. Tavares is soley responsible and should not be allowed to stay until early 2026. Yesterday is the longest he should be allowed to stay. I don't know why but he is wrecking the company on purpose. Even a child could not make such stupid decisions as him.
When will you wake up..... It was there plan all along to , buy major American brands....over price everything,....crash, sales....then bankrupt all the car brands. Then Europes brands.....flood in and fill the market shares....( Like the 70 show, Red would call all of you DUME ASS.....for not seeing this.))
1. Historically this hasn't worked. In 1986, they tried to sell a discounted Fiat product for $3990. The Yugo. It was the cheapest vehicle sold in the United States. It sold marginally. 2. The cheapest vehicle in 2024 is the Versa, at $24k. Nissan has been successful. Reliability wise it rates 4.4 out of 5. 3. The Stellantis Fiat products- Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Sheep do not have a reliability record as high as an entry level Versa. 4. 3990 USD in 1986 is equivalent to 11,500 USD today. Therefore, Stellantis would need to price their Fiat products to their true value- $11,500 USD just to have marginal sales, based on the quality and value of their Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Sheep Fiat based products.
American corporation greeds and blind sight. Who wants those big ass expensive trucks. Too many models are made, instead of focusing on one particular market, that is small SUVs people want. Like Toyota and Honda are doing. And make them last by doing enough tests, test, and test, and test after test, before let them out to the market.
The EPA hasn’t helped with their RULE changes (SCOUS has now nixed that) on minimum gas mileage ratings. That’s why some brands don’t have v8 engines. California is the biggest influence on the industry with their state regulations. Why should the rest of the country have to suffer with their California emissions requirements. Let them burry themselves just like they are fixing to do with the requirements for 18 wheelers. Soon you won’t get anyone to supply them with any goods because people or companies won’t be able to afford to keep up with their requirements that are getting more ridiculous every year.
People haven't forgotten about the market adjustments during COVID . Combine that with the ridiculous price of vehicle's . Have some holding onto there cars longer
We need a jeep in the low 20s that has the soul of the original... No need for expensive luxury, and a simple trustworthy turbo diesel or smaller v8 no need for a 392 v8 for 100k+ we need a nice simple v8 300 hp 320tq... Kind of like those eternal 4.6 v8 ford made... Cheap simple to fix on trails, guarantee ppl will Buy them. Like hot pancakes.
CEO with the Glasses is WOKE and he is killing the company. Imagine killing the V8 engine, the HellCat, The TRex. for electric versions. he killed anything that said Manly.😂
They need to bring back the Reliance with the AWD and also put the new Turbo V6 in their Promaster with AWD and compete better against Ford and Mercedes in the Class B RV market. The Promaster has better square footage for Class B RVs. I had Reliance and loved it! The AWD was great!
Why do you need a turbocharger, just put in a bigger engine. 4 cylinders doing small v-8 work will "BLOW". You don't need a turbocharger you need a V-8.
V8 and v6 are nothing a like 3.0 hurrican is garbage I work Stellantis and that twin turbo is a piece of crap engine those engine already have issues that were fixing on some models
Anyone that isn't rich with money to burn should run from these pos offerings.they are near home prices in some states .for a car or truck how stupid.send a clear message stop buying their over priced, over teched crap that's broke down or failed before it's even paid off
They deserve it for making low quality cars that have bad reliability rate especially Jeeps FYI Jeep stands for Just Expect Every Problem before you purchase
Shit economy, higher prices. Its gonna get worse. I'm just glad they are starting to feel the pain we have felt for many many years. I am in no hurry to make a move. My feet work just fine plus having the know how to repair my shit box for much cheaper and keep my wealth in a failing economy is a better move.

If legacy auto doesn't embrace, and master the EV market, they will all suffer the same fate. After trying, and purchasing an EV myself, there is no doubt, ICE is doomed. And this is coming from an old line technician with decades of driving and repair experience.
Everyone knows what happened. They raised their prices 30 -40% . The CEO is an idiot.
More like 50%

Maybe he should cut his salary from 39 million. Can you imagine what the whole executive staff of Stellantis must add up to! Sad

They've priced themselves out of the market. Goodbye Stellantis.

What was wrong with the Original Jeep, you have now priced everyone out of a Jeep.
They are Overpriced Garbage!
These manufacturers are selling out to our government for electric vehicles. So, sad!
A little overpriced? 50000 for a jeep, 100000 for a ram?
Just a little?

The auto should be designed to last as long as the typical loan term. A highly stressed turbo engine would make that iffy.

Dealers are scum. They added thousands of dollars to the sticker price of cars. Now no one wants them. Good go out of business.
Good news we can buy a car cheap. Bad news pension and health care probably gone.
