Welcome to my channel! I can't believe it's been 6 months since my last update! In this mid-April cross stitching update have lots to show! Finishes, Wips, Haul and of course lots of random chatter! Yay you are back! I kept checking to see if you had uploaded a new video in case I didn’t get the notification and I was so happy to finally get a notification after such a long time. I could watch and listen to your videos all day. You were the first Flosstube that I subscribed to. I hope we don’t have to wait long for the next video.

Great to see you back, loved all your projects. The Santa is stunning and you have made fantastic progress on Winter Cabin, it looks great, look forward to seeing your progress on those trees😀. I’m no good at journaling either, my attempt consists of a little notebook with the name of the project, the start date and the finish date but it works for me!!😂😂. Happy stitching 😀

Christine!!!! It is soooooooo lovely to see you again. I have missed you. You have made some amazing progress on all your Dimensions Kits. As a big Dimensions fan myself I keep telling myself I must start one because I have a million of them but haven’t done one in years. Far too many beautiful kits and far too little time! I mentioned on one of my recent videos that robins (European robins) are just favourite birds. I have lots that come to visit the feeders in my front and back gardens. My cats would very much love to see the video of the birds visiting your fountain! There are quite a few bird videos for cats on You Tube and my cats are big fans!! 😹 I look forward to seeing you again, whenever that may be! I have about 10 hours of footage with most of it having NO birds, so I will start going through it and try to get it down to 1 hour of just birds! I have put it off far to long!

Its hard for me to keep a journal. I do write down when I start a project, the linen, the pattern, but it took over a year just to get into a habit. When I wake up or need to fall asleep I always put on Delores cannon. She passed away a couple of years ago. I miss her. Your projects are amazing. The riolis blue Jay's are so pretty.🌻🌻🌻
Thanks Cindy! I haven't heard of Delores Cannon. I got to thinking about my comment about not journaling and realized I DO journal in a sense. Instagram is my journal and since I usually make notes on my pictures about when I start and finish things. I also have my blog and Flickr accounts where I have all the info on my projects if I really need to find it. :)
Great update! Enjoyed all the stitching and fun new stash🙂. A Dimensions year sounds like a great idea: I just know if I commit to one I would end up stitching everything but! Fun to think about though. Most museum dioramas and displays are put together by museum volunteers so you may get your chance yet!

Hi Christine! Wow, you’ve done a lot of stitching since you filmed last! I love Dimensions kits (as you already know) so I love to see what you’re working on because it’s sort of like scratching an itch. I’ve seen pictures of most of your WIP kits but seeing how they stitch up is so much better than the picture. Gorgeous stuff!! I’ve been trying to finish my Snowman & Friends stocking, and I’m down to the heel now. It’s hard to pick up when school is demanding though, so it still feels slow going.
Oh, and “Let’s stay home” is SO charming! What a wonderful commemorative piece with a special story!! Love love love it. Nice to see you! Happy stitching!

Thank you! It's a nice thought to think my boys will lug around my stitching and pass it down but I doubt they will! I've already told them they shouldn't feel obligated to do so unless they want to. I told them to never feel guilty about giving it away after I'm gone because the important thing is that it brought me joy to stitch it. OR maybe I should just tell them to throw them all in my coffin, lol!
It's so nice to see you again! I love your Winter Cabin WIP. I recognized Birdhouse Garden when you showed it because last year, I found it finished and framed at a yard sale for $5. Lucky find! I also listen to Rebecca's channel. Her videos are so comforting and cozy. One of the best ASMRtists, in my opinion.

Good to see a video from you. Love all the bird kits. I went for my 1st walk of the season about a week ago, but then my hubby ended up in the hospital again for yet another procedure, this time for another kidney stone, so with running back & forth to the hospital I didn't have a chance to be consistent with the walking, plus it's been really windy & chilly here still a lot of days, but I'm really looking forward to getting back on the trails again. Since tearing my hip in '19 I haven't really been walking for exercise much at all, & with gaining all the quarantine weight, I want to get back to it. I'm hoping it starts getting & staying warm here soon. I've also been on about a year hiatus from birding, partly due to my joint/muscle issues. I just sort of lost interest in it for a while because of the pain, but I also want to get back into that again too. I was saddened also when I'd heard about April passing. They did say she lived a longer life than she would've in the wild though, so at least there's that. Enjoy the rest of your week! 😊
Hi Michelle! I'm sorry to hear about your husband's kidney stones. No fun! I hope he is on the mend. Maybe when the weather starts to warm up you will fee like birding, walking and gardening again. It can be easy in the winter to just curl up and do a lot of nothing! I love watching the feeders this time of year because of migration. I just know someday I will see a very lost and wayward Cardinal in my yard, lol! I did briefly see a Spotted Towhee for the first time under my feeder, but when I went to grab my camera, he was gone and hasn't been back. I keep looking, though!
@@calico_whimsy Thanks for the well wishes for my husband. He's doing better. Oh, how cool that you saw the Towhee! I looked that one up on Google just now, because I'm not familiar with it, & they're cool looking. Reminds me somewhat of a mix between a robin & an oriole from the pic I saw on there. Hope it comes back sometime so that you can get a pic. Maybe do a search as to what kind of seed attracts them, since now you know that they can be in your area. It's funny how during spring migration sometimes a couple of birds that aren't really native to an area will sometimes make a pit stop in a state & show up at the feeders. Always cool to see when that happens. I'm planning on getting some seed & clean my feeders again this week after work sometime. I have this pipe dream vision of this feeding station I've wanted to make for yrs now, but I don't know that it will ever come to fruition. Happy birding! 🐦😊
@@justchellebee2425 I was just telling my son today that I would love to have a whole aviary blocked off in my yard that birds can come and go from, but predators can't get in. All kinds of feeders and bird bath with a while garden!!! It would be so awesome. Be on the look out for my bubbling bird fountain video. I'm editing it now and it looks like it will be over an hour of just birds!. Cat TV! 🐱
@@calico_whimsy Yes!! That's something similar to the vision I have in mind for mine too! The only part that's hanging me up is how to completely squirrel proof & cat proof it. I have some ideas as to how, but I'm not sure they'd work. Maybe during summer break this year I'll sort of map it out, put it down on paper so that I can at least start planning it & come up with a good plan.

For ASMR videos, Hercules Candy has several. As a stitcher, you might especially appreciate some Asian ladies. They don't necessarily "market" their stitch-along videos as ASMR but they have that effect. No talking, just the WIP and soothing sound of needle and floss going through fabric. If you or anyone else would like recommendations, just let me know.

This lady has time-lapse and regular. Look for the videos with Zen in the title. There is ambient noise sometimes but usually not too intrusive
