Nadal’s backswing while incredibly effective is anything but fluid. He jabs the racquet down into position. His swing is almost impossible to reproduce since there’s inherently so much topspin due to the combination of a very low racquet drop and a semi-western grip. As a result, he has to swing all out on almost every shot. That’s why he’s a nightmare for other players to hit with since he over hits like crazy in practice to make sure he hits through the ball in matches.

Hi there I also have a semi western grip with heavy topspin. I find it hard to hit through the ball, but also hard to miss due to the massive topspin. Would you recommend an eastern grip?

@@BrickPB The semi-western grip is the most used grip for a reason. Unless you are really struggling with low balls I wouldn’t recommend changing. Just practicing hitting the ball flatter so that you can flatten it out when you need to.

The swing doesn't matter just contact point which is important. Have a good day everyone.

Yea yea, Mannarinno FH can generate as much spin and power as Alcaraz with his swing mechanics? Yeah its probbly just the contact point lmao

Hi my friend, I have a question about tennis racquets? I haven’t played in about 25 years, and the last time I was playing I was rated an 4.5-50 player, I won a few tournaments in my division, and I played with a Wilson Profile 95 and use a semi western grip on forehand and a continental on my serve. What is your thoughts on this particular racquet in modern times? Thank you for your time and have a blessed day my friend.

id recommend getting a new racquet, as rackets become dead after lots of use. also, that racket has a smaller racket head than a lot of rackets now. it is still a normal head size, but it may be easier if you get a different and newer racket.

The profile was a very unique racket it was so stiff and had a very thick beam can’t believe some college and pros used it 😂. Nothing even close to that today all 95’s are super thin and fairly flexible for the most part. The firmer 95-97 sq in heads would be the pure strike and the Wilson pro staff 95 pro labs that might be your best bet if memory serves the profile had a sense string bed but from a feel perspective nothing will come even close just bc the beam was so thick and stiff. Just try the pro staff pure strike Yonex ezone tour or precept 97 (maybe a tad soft for you).
