Good job guys. I’ve followed many videos throughout the years. But the precise descriptions provided and the dynamics behind the shots are amazing. What I like the most is when a specific shot, stance, grip is compared with the alternatives. Here is when you really get it.
this video is so good to learn the difference between flat and topspin about comprehensive concepts. it is very helpful to understand both forehand strokes. thanks a lot :)
I watched this over and over, when either of you are actually hitting the ball your arm moves so quick I see it at start of swing (racquet in slot) and after contact (finish elbow bent and racquet placed in the backpack). Do you have any that shows hits but in slow motion so I can see what you are doing? In my head I am trying to hit the shot you are advocating but the results not the same. I am not getting it. Aside from that great video
I applied this on the court this morning practising solo and it worked. With the flat straight shot I was able to get close to my target (my backpack sitting against the middle of the fence) after the bounce, and with the topspin shot I was able to get good dip.

01:47 "With Eastern grip, contact point is more in front of you than SW grip..." I thought the contact point for SW grip is more in FRONT of you than Eastern. But video says the opposite. Simon, please advise.
With the eastern, you can make contact further in front, but you have a much longer zone to make contact with the eastern in general as you have the strings flat towards the net for more longer. Federer is the perfect example. Watch how far in front he makes contact
Great video guys 👌👌 i have a question after contact i dont finish my followthrough i tilt my racket head and use my wrist its causing problems any sugestions
That depends on so many factors. Surface, indoor vs outdoor, windy vs calm, opponents style, balls even. In general, when defending and building its better to have more margin, higher trajectory. When attacking, it goes lower
One of the best videos for me on youtube that's helped me a ton, watched it multiple times already.... Quick question guys, I'm a 5'8''~9'' 35yr old playing at a 4.0~4.5 lvl who's aiming to get to a solid 4.5~5.0 lvl... I learned the game in my junior years using the eastern grip, and with the modern game moving towards the Semi-Western grip I've been trying to gradually change my grip over the last few years. It's been a difficult path and I find it especially hard when trying to hit any shot which requires some wrist manipulation (ex. running buggy whip crosscourt forehand) as I don't have a flexible wrist... should I still continue to try to make the switch? I think taller guys have it better w the Eastern grip since they have a higher starting clearance for hitting the ball through and I'm not not that tall so....I'm currently in between eastern and semi-western, just wanted some expert advice :) Thanks!
Thank you for watching 👍 That’s a tough question, the main thing I’m wondering is what made you want to change grips originally? I’ve played around with all the forehand grips and stuck with eastern. I prefer it for many reasons but other players may benefit from the semi, but they need to know what the end goal is with their forehand
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Thanks for the reply! My end goal is to just improve my forehand and get to the ~5.0 lvl. The reason for switching is that SW grip has been the preferred grip for many players today as you know... and also that eastern is harder to play against topspin and high forehands esp if you're not that tall....you would need to take the ball earlier which is not always easy and just thought it could be better to gradually switch...but I'm experiencing that it's not easy to switch grips either and Eastern has it's own benefits also. Therefore I'm kinda stuck w what to do atm, I do feel like Eastern could be better for Doubles play which is what's played mainly here in S.Korea.

Focus on finishing across your chest with the elbow. Hold that position for a second and work on it daily
great video! what wilson raquet is that black and red ?
Thx pls give me home drills to improve my forehand 👍🏾

Pretty useful 👌🏻
Many thanks 🙏
what is the good rough net clearance?what is more important? Net clearance vs penetration? Thanks a lot.
That depends on so many factors. Surface, indoor vs outdoor, windy vs calm, opponents style, balls even.
In general, when defending and building its better to have more margin, higher trajectory. When attacking, it goes lower
I think bringing the racket up just under the height of the ball will help me as I really struggle with consistency on my forehand.
Thanks for watching

Thank you for watching 👍
That’s a tough question, the main thing I’m wondering is what made you want to change grips originally?
I’ve played around with all the forehand grips and stuck with eastern. I prefer it for many reasons but other players may benefit from the semi, but they need to know what the end goal is with their forehand

Thanks for the reply!
Really nice upgrade in production quality!

what are these grips you refer to? I was taught to use the chopper grip which you don't mention
for club level which is the gold medium for grip and stance i cannot learn to play like you tky
Club level is a massive range. Beginner club level, intermediate, advanced, top club level etc
Hey guys great video as always. Someone mentioned a American twist serve, what is that? Is it a kick serve or different again? Cheers Jed. 🎾😊
its just an old name for a kick serve
thanks
Our pleasure
Hey TTT training! I love your videos. What I would like to see next is a tutorial on the American twist serve. I believe it's a great video idea for more advanced players
Great idea, it is quite an advanced serve will have to get a few baskets out not to mess up the demo 😂
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial It would be a great tutorial and just because there aren't any American twist serves tutorials it might get many more views than a normal video. I would advise you to give it a try
2 questions, 1) is the RPM blast rough string good??- I use it , and 2) what is the best string you recommend? What do you use
I like RPM.
The best string is different for every player, experiment and see what suits your game
7:06 bro what grip you used
I’m now having wrist issues on the pinky side, and I hit a heavy ball, do you think I should start learning how to hit flat, and would that help the wrist issue? Oh I also tape my wrist all the time now cheers
Ohhhhhh the video answered my question ahaha thanks
Thank you for watching 👍

@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I’m pretty sure you’ve covered everything however I think what would be helpful is explaining generally what kinds of strings are for who, tension do what exactly, and the benefits for flat hitters or shots and heavy hitters etc...🤷🏻♂️ you might of covered that too lol cheers
This video is very important and useful ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Thanks for the support! Do you prefer spin or flat?
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial i like spin♡
Thanks, I am moving my Grandson into the game of tennis.
