At least the had time to say goodbye unlike the tamers kids. The conversation between Henry (Jenri) and his dad at the end is just heart breaking both in the dub and sub.
25:54 That wasn’t an error. That was intentional. The English voice actor for Tai had a family emergency that day and had to leave the studio early. Unfortunately, that line was so pertinent to the plot that they couldn’t just cut it from the episode. To make matters worse, the English dub was in a time crunch and couldn’t afford another day to voice any leftover lines. Remember, this is the 90’s. It wasn’t as easy as making a voice clip at home and sending it in an email. The actors physically had to be in the studio to record. The only solution they had was to have the voice actor for T.K. voice that line as best as she could’ve in Tai’s voice.
I was obsessed with Digimon growing up. Its influence is still felt in my "everyday" life. When I see the brand Lululemon in print, I absolutely pronounce it like a Digimon's name: lu-LU-le-MON
I recently met wormmons voice actor and I gushed about how important the show and characters of Ken and Wormmon means to me. We had a sweet conversation about how the show effected so many kids. He's a very nice guy.
Glad that worked out. In my experience, overworked and underpaid VA's barely remember the roles that might've changed your life forever lol. So props to whoever rolled with "Remember when you voiced a worm for a bit in the early 2000s?" Love to see it.
Frontier may not be deep but I love it dearly. It was my favorite as a kid and was the first anime I remember making a point to sit down and watch every week. As shallow as it is it really helped cement my love of anime. The sailor moon-esque transformations also helped sell the show lol
I was in love with Koji and named my cat after him. I honestly loved it. I also loved the southern belle/Blanche Devereaux villain. But I also loved Mimi, so I think I just loved hyper-feminine southern characters and angsty boys.
thats because of the heavy influence christianity in korea, although angeman is a straight up blonde haired angel man...Leomon is an allegory for jesus. Just like how in frontier the fight between "beastmen" and "human" digimon is an allegory for heathenism and Christianity.
@@Tahahente I cannot explain what this info has done to my family. One day I stumble upon this nice little factoid and told my brother. I will never hear the end of leomon being Jesus whenever he sees him on screen. If my brother was a child I could forgive this but NO he's 18 he's doing this on PURPOSE Anyways thanks for this fun little piece of info.
I remember TK being my favorite growing up and not knowing why. As a kid, I usually liked the protagonist or whoever did the more fighting. TK was the opposite, he was a crybaby whose digimon never evolved until the very end of the first and last arc of the entire show. Then when I watched it again when I was older (in the dub for Latin America which stuck with the Japanese music and dialogue but borrowed the English names, I’m sorry but I can’t stand the English dub), I ended up realizing why I related to him so much, he was a young kid from a broken home as I was. I don’t even remember my parents separating like TK didn’t know. I remember one specific dialogue that had me emotional asf, and that’s when Sora wants to leave the group and TK stops her and says that “families suppose to stick together” very angrily, clearly projecting what he felt towards his family towards her. That hit me like a truck cause it’s like I watched my younger self and the emotions I couldn’t process on screen. People don’t talk enough how kids simply don’t know how to process emotional trauma and it’s up to our subconscious to find ways to cope with it, and my attachment to his character was probably one way in which my subconscious dealt with it. This is, in my opinion, what makes digimon so underrated
I had the same connection with Ruki in Tamers. I didn't have a relationship with my dad, at all. I knew what he looked like, he visited often but I straight up didn't interact with him beyond "Hi", "Bye" and him asking if I have good grades. I couldn't say that I had a bad or a good relationship with him, because we didn't interact at all, despite him being physically there a lot of the time. I had no idea what to make of my situation and it hurt me a lot, so the way I tried dealing with all of my problems at once (not feeling loved by my dad, not feeling like I have much in common with other girls and thus feeling like an outsider to them) was basically creating a persona I'd play at all times, where I'm strong (so like boys, in my child mind) and tough and I have no insecurities at all. Seeing Ruki deal with similar issues made me feel like, just for a moment, I can put that persona down, be myself, because the middle-aged japanese man writing that show fucking gets me better than anyone else. I'm also half Japanese half European so I had issues fitting in because of my bicultural upbringing as well. Jenrya's presence in Tamers always gave me such a warm and nice feeling.
My 8 year old and I are watching it now. We're in the middle of Tamers. I can't begin to describe how much fun it's been to rewatch my favourite childhood show in its entirety. But I dread season 4. So far the little man has chosen Adventure as his favourite, his Digimon is Patamon/unimon/ piximon. I've drawn them all for him, including his own character (his chosen crest is reliability) it's been a ride I tell you. Now he wants a bio emerge with himself and Piximon. I have no idea how to even start on it. Help!
During 01 every time they'd Digivolve, I'd call my dad in to watch it! It got to the point where he would just join me and have his supper while we watched the original gang kick Digibutt! Thanks for the memories Billiam :)
All humans are inherently evil. The spores merely weakened inhibitions and intensified those dark urges. Eventually, the victim of the Dark Spore loses the ability to differentiate between his own desires and the amplified ones, causing him to become truly evil, even after the spores are removed. That's what makes it so insidious.
And that's what actually happened in the show, it's not just your headcanon as far as I know. Near the end of the season they even gathered up all the kids and harnessed their dark spores. Do you think that they legitimately were all evil if the spores literally mind-controlling its victims were the intent?
I don't remember about the English dub, but in the original show it's made clear that Dark Spores will make children more inclined towards negative feelings and behaviors, but can be overcome (as Ken does). Ken's Dark Spore only flourishes as a result of Ken's difficult childhood and complicated emotions surrounding his brother.
Your review about each Digimon season and movie is amazing. You explained which aspects you liked and disliked about each one in an extremely comprehensive way. Thank you so much for this amazing content.
Of the original 8 digimon, I've always found Patamon's and Gatomon's evolutions to be the strangest. The others have fairly logical next stages; dinosaur becomes bigger dinosaur after spending time in the military, wolf becomes werewolf Billy Idol, etc. Even cactus becoming a flying plant makes sense. But a cat becoming a scantily clad attractive angel? And a flying puppy (I guess?) becoming an equally attractive angel? As a kid, these evolutions in particular had me scratching my head.
Yeah, but Digimon has always been that way. It's only in the anime that they happen to have an evolutionary line that makes sense. In the original virtual pets, and the video games, Digimon have an evolutionary tree, not a line. And what they become can be pretty random. Agumon can become Numimon (the slug), which becomes Monzaemon (a teddy bear). Digimon in the same family group, such as Tyrannomon and Darktyrannomon, aren't even on the same evolutionary tree.
The Digimon Adventure section of this video made me realize just how much of it I watched as a kid. I thought I only ever watched the Devimon arc, but seeing the characters from the later arcs brought memories flooding back to me. I remember having a huge crush on Myotismon as a kid.
I used to play digimon with my two friends in elementary school on the playground where we pretended to be stuck in the digital world and so on. We played that every day for years. I haven't watched digimon in years and this video reminded me why I loved it so much. Now I gotta go watch them all ^-^
digimon tamers has GOT to be my favorite out of the entire franchise. the ending act is just amazing and the D-reaper is such an interesting final boss. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STTTARTTTED ON THE ANGST, i think everybody loves some good angst in a tv show (i know i sure do). AND THE 2d ANIMATIONS FOR THE DIGIVOLUTIONS WERE SO FUCKINGGGG COOOOOOOOOOL
I'm Mexican, so I never experienced the Digirap to the fulles until I was already an adult. Fortunately the Spanish dubs preserved the original songs. They also preserved most of the censored scenes.
Hearing the songs at [00:27:00] I'm really glad in Germany we had translations of the original Songs (They also are pretty awesome. "Leb deinen Traum" and "Wir werden siegen" for everyone who is interested)
There's an alternate universe where T.K. is the leader of the 02 team and Ken's double life is actually relevant to the plot and I'm disappointed that I don't live in that universe
My favorite thing about Digimon Adventure is how sometimes when they animated a character running away, they'd just play one animation three times, getting faster every time before continuing.
Yeah, it was good. But the major issue and problem that still haunting to me til this day was that creepy girl (one from Takato's school friends, which one of them who voice by Bridget Hoffman) at the end of the third season of Digimon. Take a big guess of who Takato and Guilmon (my third childhood favorite Digimon) fought at the last arc that sends chills and shivers down my spine with tremendous amounts of fear and terror.
That is right that's the one that I am talking about...I could never forget those terrifying moments from that season...that creep gave me the worst nightmare in my entire life. I couldn't get a good sleep.
@@SSJ491 That's cuz the guy who directed Tamers normally directed really dark or adult anime, look up Tamers and it'll say his name and the sort of things he directed, and her name was Jerry, she only became creepy because she got infected by something in the digital world due to her grief of losing someone she cared about, she was actually a really sweet girl.
This is a very emotional video for me, growing up in a super small town our cable company didn't the channel that had pokemon, so when that was the biggest thing Digimon was the biggest thing for me, it was basically pokemon in my mind and really good too, the characters look badass and unique, cool story arcs, when it came out it totally made up for the emptiness I felt never being able to watch Pokemon. The intense battles, the awesome transformations, the wondering what a transformation looked like, actually having transformations like Pokemon and how cool they turned out, those climaxes and things were the peak dopamine and serotonin experiences for me when I was that young. This literally was the most exciting thing to me at the time, just thinking about being so excited for it, telling my mom about it, my mom buying me the toys and cards and things for it, a large chunk of my emotions in childhood was centered around this show, just thinking about all that and how happy it made me, I could cry if I think about this too much lol
I'm looking forward to Digimon Survive. The reasoning behind putting visual novel elements into the game in a way that will accentuate aspects of Digimon that were generally only present in the anime (corrupted evolutions, for example) intrigued me. I want to see how they go about executing that.
@Paul Roman She once fought against the Champion forms of the group (in the hall with the gate into the humand world) and completely annihilated them without breaking a sweat.
It also makes it weird without the ring tailmon/gatomons evo line changes with the ring you get ophanimon without it you get the pink dragon monstrosity no offence to those who like the pink dragon its just if were gonna have an angel theme I would like it to have gone full angel like patamon going angemon to magna angemon to seraphimon but seems like gatomon has restrictions to go full on angel because she lost her tail ring xdd even thou she briefly became ophanimon Falldown mode which is just basically an evil Ophanimon which ironically close to being Lilithmon lol
@@scarletrose8766 Magnadramon is the Canonical Mega to Gatomon due to the Golden Digimentals movie and Ophanimon's first appearance in any kind of media would not be until the next year.(From what I can find.)
Man Digimon the Movie was one of my favorite childhood movies of all time, of ALL TIME. Most of my friends chose either Pokémon or Digimon, but I loved both. It was fun and nostalgic to hear you flesh out all of the franchise 🥰
I saw "Child's War Game" in theaters at a special event with my cousin. We were huge fans of the card game at the time and even got a promo card for going to the event. I loved it, and it really brought me into Digimon for years, but it was always so hard to see more of it. Still, it was part of what got me into anime in the first place.
Frontier is not bad but it is not for everyone. I enjoy watching frontier but I like any series that came before do to the foil the digimon provided their human. When the human becomes a digimon it is neat but it removes a dynamic i missed. But I can say Frontier did better then anything that came after it. Data squad was silly and Xros wars was a thing that exists.
I just want to say, as a child, 'Times standing still!' Came off as intentionally awesome in the same way two equally skilled samurai with swords crossed is.
Frontier really touched me in my childhood. The English opening was my favorite and the whole turning into Digimon thing really appealed to me. As I grew up, I realized that the story was pretty poor xD. But, as you can see from my username, I loved it and I loved Kaiser Greymon, haha!
I had named my cat after Koji! I was absolutely in love with the character and his brother lol. I really liked the concept they could turn into them actually. At least, as a kid.
@@kaiser9598 that would've been more logical, but he was Orange. He had 6 claws on each paws and kept to himself mostly, except for me following him around all day, and when I was a kid he'd walk me to the bus stop and wait for me there when I came back. He was a great cat though!
I watched the first series when I was really little and it aired on TV, but I never really got into it very much. When Digimon: Survive came out I played that and loved it so much that I replayed it twice to get every ending. After that I played Cyber Sleuth/Hacker’s Memory and loved those too, and ended up casually watching Tamers for the first time. I basically experienced the series backwards, not knowing that seemingly ordinary characters were actually callbacks. I am FLOORED that the Wendigomon scene in Survive came from one of the short movies, and my jaw hit the floor when I saw that the dog digimon from the Tamers movie actually ended up being my girl Labramon. Falcomon, too, being from one of the later series and then being one of the main cast’s partners in Survive was cool to realize.
This has been in my recommended for a long long time. I'm glad I finally gave it the almost 3 hours it deserves. You expressed all the thoughts I've had about Digimon, and many I didn't even realize I had. Now, time to listen to Butterfly and Brave Heart on loop.
The first time I saw Digimon I loved TK's arc to no end, and the fact that Patomon is the unequivocally strongest of the partner digimon is just something I love, because it would've been so easy to disregard that after the first encounter with Devimon. I was actually more excited during the Digimon movie when Seraphimon just randomly comes out of nowhere than the Omnimon reveal. And I was equally disappointed when he did nothing whatsoever, despite being arguably the most powerful entity in the series up to that point. In his Ultimate form he obliterated a monster who singlehandedly defeated the Mega partner digimon with ease. Seraphimon should've been an apocalyptic old testament deity, not a throwaway power-up for Veemon and Terriermon. I get that as a narrative payoff, their idea just works better, but I see no reason Angewoman and MagnaAngemon couldn't have fulfilled the same person, if they weren't going to use their Mega evolutions, they shouldn't have included them
I know this video is over 3 years old but I am just now watching it for the first time. The insane amounts of nostalgia I have for digimon is insane. This is special because the only media from digimon I ever consumed were the 1st vhs of 02 and the movie along with Digimon 4 for the gamecube. Despite only having such a limited quantity of content to consume digimon at one point was more apart of my life than pokemon. I watched the movie at least 40 or 50 times with my brother when we were kids. The opening short was terrifying and so suspensful, the big fights to kill the spider things were so hype, and the last story was so weird and interesting. We had no idea who any of the characters were or any of the backstories, but solely from charm and direction we understood every emotion. It helped that the movies looked and still look amazing to this day, Another testiment to how timeless good animation can be.The late 90s early 2000s anime aesthetic along with the increasde budget for the shorts and movie. A lot of crazy shit has happened and I don't get to see my brother too often anymore. I needed to find this video and just reflect on stuff. Not gonna get too personal but my parents were divorced, I was on the internet a lot as a kid, and I loved cute monsters like any other kid did. Digimon never meant everything to me, but it remains such a strong piece of my childhood. Everything about the english dub is so early 2000s. A time before Bush and corporate greed plunged the economy and a world before social media took over. I am not some boomer who is gonna say social media is evil, because i have critical thinking skills, but what i mean is that the world felt huge, almost infinite as a kid. I had to grow up way earlier than I would've wanted to, the movie and the series in general is a reminder to more innocent times. Videos like this just make me smile so much, its so nice to just sit down and enjoy a funnt dude reminise about something we both loved as kids. thx Billiam
I adore Frontier, because I really loved the concept of a a monster taming series letting the people become the monsters. I actually liked it better than any of the other versions.
I like Renamon's personality. I'm not into anthropomorphic sentient creatures. At least, not in "that" way. Renamon's just cool. And Guilmon is adorably goofy. Galantmon with Guilmon's voice is hilarious.
If I'm being hones, Digimon tamers was my favorite as a kid simply because I actually liked the designs of ALL the main character digimon's base forms. Like you, I didn't--and still don't--like Renamon's design for sexual reasons. She looks cool and her character was cool. Guilmon was a dinosuar. I loved dinosaurs. Automatic favorite. Then there was the cute bunny one who's name I forgor but I thought he was adorable... oh and I thought it was hilarious how he evolved into Big Chungus with guns. In every series I had watched prior there was always one or two main character digimon who I thought were stupid looking but tamers had really good designs.
I randomly stumbled on the new movie and had my mind blown and was so confused at the same time. I thought it was just an old movie I somehow missed but it said that it just came out. Either way, it felt nostalgic as hell to watch and see all the original characters in a new movie as an adult
The first episode I ever saw of Digimon when it originally aired was the one where Wizardmon sacrifices himself for Gatomon. From that moment I was hooked and I've been a fan of the series ever since, but the abridged version of the movies brings back then charm the original had.
My favourite way to summarise Tri is "the literal personification of Homeostasis gets a bunch of kids roped into a fight with an ancient evil tree and goads them into conspiring to murder a cat."
"Hey Digimon" always hit really well for me. It was like right when everything felt hopeless, suddenly there was this release and everything was gonna be okay. Action wasn't over, but we could breathe again.
Honestly? Frontier is one of my fav seasons. It's true that most of us wanted to have a digimon and the bonding is important, but come on. WHO didn't wanted to BECOME the digimon? Beign part of the action (not like in savers)
I designed my own character and made my voice deeper with every evolution and everything. If they ever make a live action movie, I don't care if it sucks, sign me up and let me have my moment.
Is Frontier worth watching? I mean, I don't get the concept of becoming the digimon. I love the idea of partner Digimon and the kids have to fight but also keep themselves safe. But when I heard about Frontier it made me sad. So I think that's why I like Adventure, 02, and tamers the most. Data Squad seems good but I dont like Marcus all that much, so I only watched the first 4 episodes. So is Frontier worth it?
Digimon: Tamers was probably my favorite iteration of Digimon. It was a way to make us all feel like Digimon was more realistic than ever before. My friends and I all had Digivices and used to dream of obtaining the blue card. Leading us to create our own Digimon designs and use our Digivices in super fun imaginary games.
You should review dinosaur king, it would seem like something up your alley, I remember loving it but that's probably nostalgia because it's more of a Pokemon clone than Digimon ever was.
i mean... of the 4 or so minutes i remember seeing of it, i remember what i presume was the main character having ash's old voice... so in more ways then one that comment is agreeable.
Braveheart and Butterfly have always been some of my very favourites growing up. Even now. Always felt cheated when I didn't hear it in the English dub. As you said, that opening guitar rift is hype!
While I also loved Pokemon as a kid, the original Digimon anime has such a warm place in my heart. Unironically still think the story for that was really good, and I was glued to the TV through every episode as a kid.
When I was a kid their was a theory that the 02 team was scattered around the tamers universe. T.K. was the head of hypnosis Kari was Takato’s teacher Yolei works for hypnosis
I think the kids from 02 picked it up quick because a lot of kids saw what happened in Our War Game movie on their computers, which Yolei mentioned in episode 27 when Izzy explained DNA Digievolution. I also believe she was in one of the frames in the actual movie
Frontier may not be deep but I love it dearly. It was my favorite as a kid and was the first anime I remember making a point to sit down and watch every week. As shallow as it is it really helped cement my love of anime.
Billiam: Complains about how he couldn’t watch every part of 01 Me: Casually watched the episodes on Netflix when it was still there and hunted down the missing episodes pretty fine.
I watched Digimon Fusion first and I loved it , I did not even realize that it was Digimon and thought of it as just a random anime. When I grew up a bit more , I discovered digimon and watched digimon adventures and then I watched this video and realized Fusion was digimon lol
Being born in Brazil, when you speak about dubbing in English, I felt so lucky to be born in a country where dubbing is awesome and internationally recognized as excellent quality and my experience growing up as a kid with great dubbing was definitely game changer to appreciate this amazing anime, which I still love and played soooo many hours of Digimon Rumble Arena (love Gatomon)
I remember having to get up at 5AM everyday for 3 weeks to watch this in chronological order on FoxKids, to finally see the elusive Angemon finale was a great day I've held close for 2 decades ❤️
The songs and VAing in the english dub is iconic in its own right. I had that first Digimon movie on VHS and damn near wore thru the tape! "We're the kids in America, aye oh!"
Dude...Tri was trash from the start. It's just like Dragon Ball Super: shitty animation, bad characterization, outright character assassination at times, bad writing, retcons galore, and a story that goes nowhere. I had high hopes until I started seeing teasers that appealed to nothing more than nostalgia; it was around that time that I began to fear the worst. And, unfortunately, my fears were realized.
@@combativeThinker Agreed, DBS sucks its the worst series to me. I personally liked GT and all the other series except Super, which is bad. I only watched because I liked the previous series, I wished that GT got the Kai treatment and they just just did a reboot and retcon of GT. SS 4 was awesome and they just could of kept Goku as an adult or something. Goku a moron, villains are brought back, Frieza blew up planet Vegeta and Namek why would you bring him back Goku. I don't care about excuses...Etc. I could go on their a long lists of everything wrong with DBS has so many problems I could write a essay but I don't think anybody feels like reading that right now and I don't feel like writing it. I kinda wished I didn't watch super. You know it's like Thundercats Roar, Teen Titans Go, Ben 2016, Beserk 2016 and 2017, Netflix 2018 He-Ra I mean She-Ra (not really) and Princesses of Power. If they ani't going do something right, don't do it at all. Voltron had bad writing but it looks good at least, and the PPG series is okay to me. I mean it's bad writing, bad animation, bad art, mocking fans of originals, bad sound, bad jokes, dumbing down, or changing the age of characters, etc... Sorry, for being long-winded.
Watching this has unlocked so many memories. I didn't consider myself a big Digimon fan, but so many of the show review segments make me realize I watched most of the shows as a kid.
When Digimon Tri was announced the nostalgia came back full force. I loved the original series as a kid, a teen, and now an adult. Hope they do the series justice with the next movie!
On March 7th, 2019, for Digimon’s 20th anniversary, I started to watch one episode/movie each day until I watched everything. As of May 1st, 2020, 421 days in, it was completed. And I still love digimon.
26:27 Not being from an English speaking country, I honetly feel bad for the people who only watched in English, cause the og soundtracks by Koji Wada (RIP

You mean the "Biyomon over here" line?

I recently met wormmons voice actor and I gushed about how important the show and characters of Ken and Wormmon means to me. We had a sweet conversation about how the show effected so many kids. He's a very nice guy.
Glad that worked out. In my experience, overworked and underpaid VA's barely remember the roles that might've changed your life forever lol. So props to whoever rolled with "Remember when you voiced a worm for a bit in the early 2000s?" Love to see it.
@gankhef5564 I've also met Ken's VA and he's a sweetheart too
Frontier may not be deep but I love it dearly.
The ongoing “kill Leomon” trope is almost like a law in digimon media. Literally if any form of Leomon shows up, it’s guarantee to die
So... does that make Digimon Adventure (2020) illegal?
He's digimons uncle Ben
thats because of the heavy influence christianity in korea, although angeman is a straight up blonde haired angel man...Leomon is an allegory for jesus. Just like how in frontier the fight between "beastmen" and "human" digimon is an allegory for heathenism and Christianity.
Along with Zero from Mega Man and Optimus Prime. These dudes just have a knack for dying.
@@Tahahente I cannot explain what this info has done to my family. One day I stumble upon this nice little factoid and told my brother. I will never hear the end of leomon being Jesus whenever he sees him on screen.
If my brother was a child I could forgive this but NO he's 18 he's doing this on PURPOSE
Anyways thanks for this fun little piece of info.
Im the exact same way, I also connected with TK because patamon was the best characterized digimon

Please don't, please do not talk about my true fear from the last saga/arc of Digimon Tamers....I think you already know.
Help!
Frontier is great. It's different, sure, but it's still one of my favorite seasons.
"Leomon dies" that's it, that's the whole anime series.
Data Squad: Listen. What if we kill TWO Leomons this time?
Leomon may in fact be a red shirt. 😂
He died for your sins
@@mareanie5998 HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS!

During 01 every time they'd Digivolve, I'd call my dad in to watch it! It got to the point where he would just join me and have his supper while we watched the original gang kick Digibutt! Thanks for the memories Billiam :)
That's a nice story.
My headcanon is that the spores didn't _cause_ Ken to be evil, they just pushed him off the edge even further. It helps me feel a bit better about it.
What if Ken got the spores AFTER he went over the edge?
All humans are inherently evil. The spores merely weakened inhibitions and intensified those dark urges.
Eventually, the victim of the Dark Spore loses the ability to differentiate between his own desires and the amplified ones, causing him to become truly evil, even after the spores are removed. That's what makes it so insidious.
@@q-miiproductions878 there is actual canon about that. Ken and Ryo went on a adventure when they were kids.
Digimon in the same family group, such as Tyrannomon and Darktyrannomon, aren't even on the same evolutionary tree.
even then in the ps1 digimon world it was more random and we still don't know quite how evolution worked in that game
hey at least the digivolutions after angemon make sense. angewoman just becomes a fricking dragon
Patamon is actually a Guinea Pig.
Mattok101 DigitalTamer yer both wrong, patamon is baby :P

Tamers was the last Digimon series I remember being on tv. So it's fun to see what came after that.
@@SSJ491 the girl ypur talking about her name is jerry and i completely agree she was very creepy towards the end
That is right that's the one that I am talking about...I could never forget those terrifying moments from that season...that creep gave me the worst nightmare in my entire life. I couldn't get a good sleep.
Ppl honestly thought this was a RIP-off of Pokemon when Digimon make more stories than pokemon and their movies
Neat and fun fact: Veemon's voice actor was also Ken's.

another fun fact: also played impmons evolution line
fun fact also: also also played demidevimon!
He also voiced Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu and Kokichi Oma in Danganronpa. Can’t unhear that now 😂
I'm looking forward to Digimon Survive. The reasoning behind putting visual novel elements into the game in a way that will accentuate aspects of Digimon that were generally only present in the anime (corrupted evolutions, for example) intrigued me. I want to see how they go about executing that.
I’m annoyed that you never mentioned that Kari’s digimon: Gatomon was the only one who remained in champion form
LilboyG Thorns it also bothers me how Angemon is a champion level but Angewomon is an Ultimate level
@Paul Roman She once fought against the Champion forms of the group (in the hall with the gate into the humand world) and completely annihilated them without breaking a sweat.
@Paul Roman nah Gatomon was weakened in 02, she was pretty strong in first appearance easily handling the groups Digimon in their champion form.

I personally enjoyed Frontier a lot, and honestly, I didn't know it was disliked by other Digimon fans.
I liked Frontier. I didn't meet another Digimon fan IRL (only Pokemon fans) so I assumed everyone liked it as much as I did.
Way better than Data Squad/Savers. Hated that one and all beyond that
except the remake, that's fine
I really enjoyed the Frontier's English opening song.
I saw a lot of these movies and shows on youtube back when anime episodes were uploaded in 3 parts so this was huge nostalgia trip for me
I just want to say, as a child, 'Times standing still!' Came off as intentionally awesome in the same way two equally skilled samurai with swords crossed is.

I get that as a narrative payoff, their idea just works better, but I see no reason Angewoman and MagnaAngemon couldn't have fulfilled the same person, if they weren't going to use their Mega evolutions, they shouldn't have included them
I petty sure seraphimon can take away the power of the gold digieggs

My friends and I all had Digivices and used to dream of obtaining the blue card. Leading us to create our own Digimon designs and use our Digivices in super fun imaginary games.

Oh boy..
"*Now, a few years ago..*"
OOHHHH BOYYYYYYYY
which series was this in, this vid is DENSE. i dont remember this bit
The show tied to Boku no Pico due to a technicality.
@@SergioLeonardoCornejo Wait what? Explain please
@@oali2478 same director.
Sergio Leonardo Cornejo oh god
Braveheart and Butterfly have always been some of my very favourites growing up. Even now. Always felt cheated when I didn't hear it in the English dub. As you said, that opening guitar rift is hype!
Im glad i grew up with the german dub with all the songs basically translated, especially love the guitar intro to bravehearts german version
While I also loved Pokemon as a kid, the original Digimon anime has such a warm place in my heart. Unironically still think the story for that was really good, and I was glued to the TV through every episode as a kid.
"Wizardmon, Gatomon's 'BFF Forever' or at least 'BFF for now'..." I shouldn't have laughed. I really shouldn't have. But I did. 🤦🏻♀️🤣
Wizardmon is clearly a good guy the entire time but he does what he has to for his survival until he doesn't
Too soooooon!
When I was a kid their was a theory that the 02 team was scattered around the tamers universe.
T.K. was the head of hypnosis
Kari was Takato’s teacher
Yolei works for hypnosis
I thought the teacher had mad Kari vibes, even without having karis v.a.

Nobody:
Not a single soul:
Billiam and what i'm going to assume is 90% of the digimon fanbase: The real villain is the Digirap
I've never heard the Digirap and I'm thankful for that fact, I pray I never have to hear this supposedly terrible song
So... Not nobody?
@Sakura Seeds a bit?
@Sakura Seeds yes it's terrible but it catchy which makes it more terrible
In all the years I've watched videos with this particular topic, I'm surprised no one's outed the persons responsible for that song.
I love how the digivolutions step it up on the tech with the animations too, that has a really nice touch to it especially with them being digital
Here in Germany we got an very quality dub. They was even able to bring the old voice cast of season one together for Digimon Try.
.
that's really cool!
A very quality dub*

"Puh-ladin mode"
This actually hurt my very being
Big facts
I think the kids from 02 picked it up quick because a lot of kids saw what happened in Our War Game movie on their computers, which Yolei mentioned in episode 27 when Izzy explained DNA Digievolution. I also believe she was in one of the frames in the actual movie
You’re right, Yolei WAS in the movie for like half a second, just one of a million kids typing frantically at her computer
during the Diaboromon fight
Yeah the new digi team learn quick.
Frontier may not be deep but I love it dearly. It was my favorite as a kid and was the first anime I remember making a point to sit down and watch every week. As shallow as it is it really helped cement my love of anime.
Digimon helped me make friends when I and my family moved to another nation. I used the anime to invite schoolmates to my house on my birthday.
A re-upload!? I won't complain, cause I love Digimon 🖤
Why would you complain?
Is this a copycat of WonderWhy or a 2nd channel?
Billiam: Complains about how he couldn’t watch every part of 01
Me: Casually watched the episodes on Netflix when it was still there and hunted down the missing episodes pretty fine.
i watched all of the digimon episodes on netflix too lol
And now they are on Hulu.
Yeah! They were on Netflix so I watched them when I was young. Even now I have a go-to website to watch anime on, and Digimon is there.
When I was younger I got to watch the unedited netflix as well, good times
some online websites have every season with every episode.
I watched Digimon Fusion first and I loved it , I did not even realize that it was Digimon and thought of it as just a random anime. When I grew up a bit more , I discovered digimon and watched digimon adventures and then I watched this video and realized Fusion was digimon lol
Same.

Gabumon main 💪🏼 fuck reapermon
Just imagine Oscar Isaac saying "Somehow Myotismon returned."
I really enjoyed Tri until Confession. I think there was a huge potential in the reboot but it went downhill from there.
Exactly... I was so excited for everything, I loved it... And then the reboot happened and it felt so strange and disconnected afterwards..

The reboot consequence is just so flat.

When Digimon Tri was announced the nostalgia came back full force. I loved the original series as a kid, a teen, and now an adult. Hope they do the series justice with the next movie!
