    I quite literally threw a chair after we blew this lead and put a dent in the apartment wall we were living in back then. I remember this because, for those who do not know, it's a real pain in the ass to repair such things.

    The Browns' offensive coordinator in 2002 was Bruce Arians,, who went on to guide the Steelers offense to a Super Bowl victory. Both Arians and Holcomb had been in Indianapolis the previous year.

  • @chrisbeecraft
    @chrisbeecraft 3 роки тому +6

    Bruce Arians the Browns Off. Co-Ord. (Tampas current HC), "No Riskit No Biskit" philosophy was in full display even this long ago, he hadn't even gone to the Steelers to coach Big Ben yet. Just look how many times the Browns threw it down field (20+) in the FFn Snow, exactly what he had Brady do last year.

      Even as a Steelers fan I'm not totally mad about last year. The Browns outplayed the Steelers both games and prolly deserved to win them both.
      The Steelers had their window a couple years ago if Big Ben doesn't hurt his arm in the 2nd game, as that defense was Super Bowl caliber with Tuitt, Heyward, Watt and Dupree leading the way.
      I checked back, and with Ben at QB they win at least 4 more games and easily make the play-offs.

    The biggest mistake in the game was the challenge of the TD w/ 3:46 remaining in the 3rd. If Cleveland had that timeout in the 4th, they would have had the opportunity to kick the game winner instead of the clock running out on them...

    • @tomodonovan5931

      If Holcomb puts some zip to a running receiver who gets to the sideline
      quicker, leaving one second on the clock, then the Browns can try to tie
      the game. I noticed the pass was sort of more lobbed then zipped, and
      that cost maybe 2 crucial seconds. Hey, time is money is correct! But I
      agree with your main point. That challenge was very costly. lol! I actually
      missed this game working at my job. In fact, I never got to watch football
      on weekends because of my job, since it involved shopping during the
      holidays, and inventory in January. I had a VHS recorder, so I put the
      quality at best, and taped the last hour of the game, which was the best.
      I later bought the whole game on DVD from some dude online. Great
      game!

      It's just a bad read from Kelly. He throws for Northcutt, and one of two things happens. One, defensive holding on the Steelers. Ticky tack call, but it deserves to be made. Two, Northcutt catches it, gets out of bounds, Dawson has 1 second to drill the kick.

    This is the most Cleveland Browns game ever.
    False hope. Flashes of brilliance. Mismanagement of the clock and timeouts. Penalties. Dropped INT that would have sealed it. Ball goes thru Northcutt’s hands after a great performance. Coming up 1 second short. The promise of being better next year and building on this season turning into frustration and disappointment.
    Fans of Cleveland, I salute you 🫡

    The Steelers didn’t get to the Super Bowl that season, but they still had a better team than what they are now. And then, they were up and coming. These days, they’re a continuing downward spiral.

    I never want to hear Mahomes name again in the sane sentence as Brady’s when it comes to the GOAT conversation. Brady slammed that shut in SB 55.

      I’m a Saints fan and as it was great to beat Brady TWICE in the regular season, there was no way we were gonna beat them in playoffs. Brady is just too good and in the postseason Maphony is 0-2 against Brady. Brady is the goat it’s undeniable. As much I think Drew Brees is the goat (as a Saints fan I can have that mindset) but as a non-casual I do believe Brady deserves his crown as Goat.

    • @rplett
      @rplett 3 роки тому +1

      @@T3rminata Craploads of Mahomosexuals have put him in that conversation. I can’t believe I have to write this but after interacting with delusional MaFraud fans for months I feel I must. No. MaFraud WILL NEVER surpass Brady as GOAT. EVER. It’s not possible. To think so is delusional. The Patriots had the same coach and QB for 20 years. How many more years does Reid have & is he even an all time great coach? Debatable. The Pats were in a favorable division. They had luck on their side too. One bounce of a ball different & Brady could have one or more SBs wins or one or more SB losses. The Pats had good drafting more years than not. More excellent signings off the free agent market & solid trades more often than not. A QB who was willing to take less than market value year in and year out. This is a biggie.
      Brady stayed healthy & on the field for 20 plus years so far. He’s a pocket passer. MaFailure is not a pocket passer & risks injury further down the line with his style of play. Crap loads upon crap loads of stuff has to go right. Brady’s resume WILL NEVERr be replicated. Then after the Pats, Brady who is maniacal about his health & approach to the game chooses the perfect situation in Tampa Bay to possibly win 2 or 3 more when is all said & done with an excellent roster.
      And if Brady wins another one this year which is a strong possibility that means Mahomes would have to win EIGHT more SBs since Brady has already beat him head to head once in a SB.
      No. MaFraud as GOAT or any other future QB will NEVER happen after Brady. To say so otherwise tells me how delusional fans thinking is & how little they know about the game of football. Brady is a unicorn. A once in a several lifetimes generational player. Just stop with the delusional talk. It’s embarrassing. Seriously.
