    This was one of the greatest runs in NFL history. The Giants, a wild card team, had to win 3 games on the road to get to the Super Bowl, then they beat an undefeated Patriots team. Remarkable.

    • @mikemiken1963

      On the road. Playing 3 teams that had byes, including both 1's. In the reg season NYG went a combined 0-4 against their playoff opponents. They then beat an 18-0 team, making the pkay off the century in the process.
      Everyone is going to get amped up about their team's run, and they should, but there was nothing like what the 2007 NYG did.

    This one still stands out to me. As a Giants fan. I cant say enough about Eli during those years. He just had to win. It was like watching Peyton's little brother take over the world. But it was so much more at the same time. This particular game is historic to me. To beat Brett Favre and Romo. Then to defeat the 18-0 Patriots...you can't explain the feeling as a NYG fan. The 2007 Giants were easily one of the grittiest teams in NFL history. The epic journey they had to take to get to Super Bowl XLII was astonishing. They had to play on the road the whole time, including this game, which I think was or is the second coldest game in NFL history, only the '67 Ice Bowl was colder. Other than Super Bowl XLII, This game was also really awesome, just because of the conditions they had to play in.

      But the 10-6 WC Giants played the 10-6 Buccs away, the 12-4 cowboys away, the 13-3 packers (I think) away in sub zero temp, and to top it all off beat the 18-0 patriots away as well.

      After their 2nd Super Bowl win, their O-Line & Defense became depleted with the core of the team retiring and then to get rid of Coughlin and to bring in horrible coaches... then to have receivers who keep dropping passes... it doesn't help Eli's Efficiency and QB rating.

    • @tomknapp6194
      @tomknapp6194 5 місяців тому

      @@nedneedlemeyer3615 Yeah, playing16 years with even below average results will do that.
      He had a top 10 passer rating once in 16 years. He was below the NFL average 9 times. He was 3.8 or less over the NFL average in 5 of the other 7 times. So, in 16 years, he had 2 years that were somewhat over the average. I don't see in what universe that makes a QB great.
      In 2018, Eli's last full year, I did a comparison between Eli and Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers and they were al 6th, 7th, and 8th all time. Only BR needed 807 FEWER attempts to have more yards and more TDs than Eli. That's almost 2 fewer seasons worth of attempts to have more than Eli. PR needed 972 fewer attempts to have more TDs and slightly fewer yards.
      And that's basically Eli's career. His stat to make the most top 10 each season? Attempts. Not yards. Not completion percentage. Not yards/attempt. Not TDs. Not TD percentage. Just attempts.
      That alone shouldspeak volumes.

      Do you think the Packers would have survived against the 18-0 Pats? The main reason they lost to the Giants was because they had played against each other weeks before and the Giants had an insane blitz defense (that was also reading Brady's play changes from the line of scrimmage). I wanted the packers to win this because I'm certain my Pats would have gone 19-0. Giants were the WORST team they could have faced in SB 42. Cowboys or Packers would have been just fine, plus Brady vs Favre? Now that's a dream matchup that will never be.

      I'm from Waukesha, Wisconsin and I still couldn't believe Favre didn't check it down to Ryan Grant for a big play that would've likely gotten the Packers into FG range.

      @@PackBrewBadgeWI4 yo I think this hurts worse than the championship game in Seattle with the onside kid but I’ll say this ppl don’t realize how magical this season really was it was Brett’s last great season as a packer he I literally watched every game this year this was the year farve got the touchdown record and passing record I think vs the then St. Louis rams and the other vs the Vikings Brett played the smartest football in his career that year Ryan grant was amazing all year wit over 1000 yards rushing Greg Jennings broke out that year Donald driver and farves connection was on another level I want to say we had bubba franks at tight end or donlad lee Aaron kampman was injured nick barrnet our best defensive tackling player at the the time Charles Woodson at corner Al Harris an amazing offensive line our defensive front played amazing all season this team was supposed to be remembered as champions I don’t understand to this daywhy Brett farve destroyed all that with the worst pick I ever seen in the clutch from him I was so disappointed in him to this very day I obviously haven’t got over this 🤦🏾‍♂️

    As a lifelong Packers fan, this game absolutely gutted me. Brett Favre has absolutely earned his HOF ring, a top 10 QB in my opinion. But the man gave away so many games, including this one. He literally threw the Giants this W. Got this still hurts to watch.... why did this god damn video pop up on my feed?!!??!! WHY?!!?? 😭😡🤬😫
