He’s not HOF worthy. His peak wasn’t long enough and his overall counting stats aren’t close to other HOF pass rushers. He was a great player in his prime but his prime was only a few years unfortunately
I think he could get in, but probably in the later years like we’ve seen many linebackers recently. But doesn’t him any less a hall of famer. As for the rest of y’all, some things you just can’t measure. Stats, longevity of his prime, comparison to other legends at the time, that doesn’t state how good he really was. It’s impact, his team and many others. I once heard that ‘to be in the Hall you have to ask if you could write the story of the NFL without mentioning this person’. If that’s a criteria I don’t think you could. One of the best defensive players on one of the best defensive franchises, the Super Bowl pick 6, the fact that anyone in the AFC North would remember how he played, etc. You at least have to consider him for the Hall.
Eagles fan here always have respect for our Pittsburgh brothers and sisters, harrison was my favkrite steeler next to troy, god bless yall steeler nation
Same as a steelers fan. I'm glad we are not in the same division as eagles so we don't have to be rivals. We will leave that to the penguins and flyers😂
James Deebo Harrison didn't disappoint when he came to Pittsburgh he deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame soon as a Steelers fan he is was and always will be a Steelers no matter what from here on in!
Steeler fan here since 73 and this guy was an absolute beast.talking about ray lewis this guy was on his level. In fact ray and james saw an awful lot of each other on sundays.
Wife & I drove up from DC to go to that game vs. the Ravens in 2007 when they honored the 75th-anniversary all-time Steeler team. Ben was at his best, throwing TD darts in the rain, but Harrison owned that game like nothing I've ever seen. A transcendent performance that no one who saw it will forget.
What an amazing story. James Harrison is a legend, not only in Steelers fame but also the whole league since its inception. He was called 'the Beast' for a reason. His incredible strength and physique was of a nature that demanded respect and it didn't come easy. His play on the field is accentuated by the number of sacks and that amazing interception and run that upended NFL records. His previous disappointments and cuts only fueled the fire within. Here we have a man that should be a mentor to all who have faced adversity, only to emerge even stronger through discipline and hard work. God bless you sir!!!
I'll never forget how my Old Man and I celebrated, jumped around while hooting and hollering. Watching games hasnt been the same since he has passed. James is one of my all time favorite players!! I miss seeing that beast playing lol
What an amazing MAN and Father! I did not like the Steelers but respected his abilities, but I RESPECT him even more after watching this. He needs to be in the Hall of Fame!
Man you said a mouthful. I hardly even recognize the game now. Everytime there's a big hit or any kind of physical play, there's always a penalty. Guys getting suspended for hitting hard.
I have to say it if no one else will, but damn! He was a beast, much love and respect, James. ❤ I would have to say I really respect his dedication as a father and his commitment as a son. When he said the greatest moment was making his father proud, it really hit me where I live.❤
Endless love for this man.. dude IS Steeler football. You’ll live among the Steeler legends forever James. It was a privilege to watch you play man. GL in everything in life
Harrison and Polom was definitely a problem for the ravens we played some great games but I will never forgive Tomlinson for sticking his foot out to stop a runback. I lost a lot of respect for him on that play alone. Respect to the Steelers. They made us the team we are today.🤓👍🏾
Wow! Awesome story! I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never heard of this man until this video! I am totally awe-struck at what he did on the field, and so respectful of him as a son, a father and a man.
A beast he was. DOY at linebacker who was cut 4 times, is only 6 foot tall. Who could imagine going from him to Watt. Honestly a rarity to have greats at LB back to back
This is when ball was the best!! James was a great player and wants to be remembered as a good human that made his Dad proud .. It doesn't get any better than that..
The one thing I will always remember about him is his final year in NE, when in the Super Bowl he was literally their best defensive player they had despite his age! Tough as nails with infinite heart!
THANK YOU James Harrison, I REALLY miss seeing you play, I have been Blessed - I've got to see Andy Russell,Jack Lambert,Jack Ham and James Harrison play for the Steelers! GOD BLESS them all & Thanks for the memories.Go STEELERS!!!
Great great great grrrreat video.! I literally got chills listening and watching this video. That’s a man right there! 🏈🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Yesssss! STEELERS!! “ The name on his back” , “ I made my Daddy proud “
When I think of James Harrison, I'm reminded of Rocky III when the reporter asked Clubber(Mr. T)for a prediction for the fight. He said, "My prediction?- Paaaiiin!!!"
Your exactly right ! But He is the only one that will ever do what he accomplished🌟With a relentless, unmatched, violent! 1 man attack that could change the game in 1 play.Or the skill to crush and run the football like a grizzly 99 yards for TD ! Belongs in the H O F ! No Doubt
I have 3 of his jerseys all steelers, of course and troy Polamalu and hines ward and heath miller and ike taylor and pouncey and timmions and big ben man those was the years!
As a skinny white safety, james harrison was my football idol. He did a lot of wrestling single/double legs or hip tosses, never stopped the pressure and intensity, ans most impressively was down to ride for his teammates without hesitation. Get this man his Jacket
In the SAME ERA......there was James Harrison....and Vontaze Burfict. HOF, vs. Villian. Played Hard , Physical, but James Did it RIGHT! Pittsburgh Loved our guy.... Cincinnati had to endure their guy.
I met James in Hawaii and talked with him , he thought I was a rookie player he didn't meet yet. I didn't know him at first but kept telling him how much I liked how he played "old school" football with the hard hits . He just laughed , especially when I said the reasons for the fines was because of these newer players not being tough enough and being candy a**es .
Someone get this man into Canton sooner than later

In a sport grounded In violence, he was one of the most violent to ever do it. Dude was FEARED and ima ravens fan.
And to think the Ravens had him and cut him too
I wouldn't say violent anymore.
James Harrison was a Beast. That 90+ yard INT in the SB was one of the top 5 Plays in Superbowl history
It was a 💯

One of his games with New England he had 2.5 sacks! 😅

It was an honor watching James play and honestly that Steelers team man those days were fantastic

Folks I hope we appreciated the 2000s-mid 2010s era of hard hitting football. Especially with the Steelers and this man!
The Steelers defense was that amazing throughout the 2000's and early to mid 2010's
Sadly my Steelers defense was so dominant we made cte awareness a thing 🤣🤣
back then the defenses were the best, the offenses were still all about the run, it was a great time.
I’m so glad I was alive to see that Super Bowl and that era, I might’ve been only 11 years old but I remember these times!
😢 miss that era
The pick-six against the Cardinals in the super bowl is the greatest play in football history.
