I live in Crete, Greece. Back in 1992 I was 15 years old and I was desperately trying (for many months) to convice my father to buy a 155! Even of different size. I never managed to convice him. In 1993, he actually bought a Land Rover Discovery , keeping his word....and the Ritmo . Both these cars are still in my garage, together with a Fiat Coupe' LE and an Alfa 75... but the 155 remained something like a dream . A version with the excact same wheels and a similar body kit was sold as 155 "Silverstone" in Greece, but with the 1800 engine

There was a theory, on forums, that series 1, and very early wide bodies….were galvanised to an almost ridiculous degree. The later 155s seemed to suffer more, rust wise. My 1995, had it’s first welding last year at 170,000 miles. It was garaged most of it’s life, but any Italian car that waits 27 years for welding is either a miracle, or a miracle 😂
That's been very nice to see. Here in Italy hardly anyone bought the 2.5 V6, unfortunately, due to the notoriously punitive taxation for over-two-liters engines still in place at the time. The model in general wasn't a sales success, as people didn't like the styling very much. However, I've often heard those who drove them in the Polizia and Carabinieri appreciated their 155s, and the model's tall, boxy rear end made for a comfortable surface to compile paperwork on! :)
Hi Matteo, I still find it hard to believe that a country like Italy had such a ridiculous taxation system on cars. I mean, not only did it restrict local sales but, as a result, hampered development of proper rivals to the big German brands. For example, the GTV from the 80's should have had at least a 3 or 3.5 Litre V6 to absolutely take it to the M BMWs. And this continues even today with further prohibitive taxing on cars like the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. For a country with such wonderful and exciting cars it's heartbreaking to see it slide further into obscurity. From being one of the major powerhouses of Europe, to an almost has been. Very sad.
This is my old car. I cherished that car. The leather was originally red so I had it re-coloured to contrast the red exterior. The exterior was resprayed completely a few years ago.
I love this car, one of the best Alfas. Aggressive, elegant, sportly, a timeless shape, equipped with powerful engines that invite you to speed up; all versions break the barrer of 200 km/h. A true mito.
I just love the 155. Looks, chassis, sound. I enjoy my own 2.0 16v TS still. That tan interior looks like a retrim. I wouldn't rev a cold engine like that though. Treat mine like a baby up to full temp and then 7000 rpm :)

Apparently we can't get the shocks anymore. If anyone knows a source please post it!
@@Jack155Q4 doesn’t this share a Fiat Coupe platform? I’m sure I went through this with my many Coupes. I think the fronts aren’t exact but the rear are. KYB Ultra SR were nice on the rear of a coupe, gold coloured
Would trade my giulietta for a 155 q4😂
😍😍😍beautiful car
That's an amazing survivor. In Northern Europe salted roads in the winter made Alfas a buffet for the rust worms. In the 1970-1980's they had a very bad reputation for that very reason. Some banks would refuse people to lend money for an Alfa. They didn't last the 10 years often used in the repayment plans... But they've always been a drivers car.
Revving it at 4k rpm straight after firing up on cold engine? Come on
who said id not been running it before.
@@ItaliaAutos the temperatures on the clocks for example
If I were your customer, I definitely would've not been happy to see my car being treated like that mate
Pipe down . It’s not like it’s underload🙄
As long as oil has had time to circulate the engine it's fine. 4k isn't high revs. He must sit on his drive glazing his bores eveytime he uses the car not reving it until the coolant has warmed up. 😉
@@ItaliaAutos no, I don't do that, but still- 4k on cold engine is not cool, especially when it's not your car
4k isn't high but it isn't low either, why don't you redline it next
It's a cracker
Beautifull 😍...my next car project...i'm italian
Cool 👍
Are you sure the engine is original of the car? Wasn't the 155 V6 phased out when they launched the wide body?
All original. Sold until 1997 in uk
@@ItaliaAutos cool, thanks!
