- Guide on how to remove the digital cockpit display / sat nav / cluster / speedometer screen assembly on a VW Tiguan Mk2 model, years 2017 onwards.
The full trim around the dashboard must be removed to gain access to the display unit. A replacement / upgrade unit may require coding.

Could you do a video on how to remove the rear view mirror on the mk2 tiguan please?
The battery should be disconnected or just the ignition off?
Hello , do u know if the cockpit can be replace with the pro version on a suv with the digital version , not the pro ?
Hi, no sorry, we couldn't confirm that.
does the engine managments always come on like that when you turn the ignition on? i assume it turns off once you start it?
Yes, as long as there are no faults it will go off when started.
Is this possible to change only speaker from virtual cockpit? Because mine sometimes didn't work when I switch on blinkers
Yes! I just successfully fixed the blinker issue today by replacing the speaker following this video
Hi man, after replacint the speaker and install the cockpit back at it's place, you did some coding or something or just plug in and start the car? Thank you @@doronostrin4582
can you confirm that it is the same method for 2022 Tiguan SE ?
Yes, it should be the same process.
I’m trying to remove the whole dashboard and have stripped it down to nothing but it still won’t budge any advice?
I had the same problem. It had 4 clips that holds the cluster and got cuts on finger pads from trying pull it out.
So my solution was to put the flat rope behind the cluster corner and then pull that rope by both ends. I had to use a lot of force, but it worked.
team Ive got as far as exposing the instrument cluster but cannot get it to budge - any advice
Once the 2 lower screws are removed the screen should just be clipped in, however they are very tightly clipped in from new. We would recommend starting in one of the top corners, it will eventually go with enough force, but be careful not to put pressure on the digital screen.
@@SelectVehicleSpares should I try some wd40 around the clip for 24hours?
@@jeevandhaliwal1 No, we would not recommend spraying WD40 in that area.

Do you know where the telematics communication module is located on a 2020 Tiguan? I’ve read that it’s possibly behind the cluster?
No sorry, we couldn't confirm where it is located. In earlier VW models it can be under the front seat/carpet area, but we've never had to access one on this particular model.
