    Excellent video. Thanks very much for the detailed description particularly around the force required on parts of the removal process - would never have put so much pressure on plastic parts without your advice. Everything went as you described so extremely grateful.

    Thanks for this tutorial. Didn’t realise how tedious the process is.

      I’ve got both headlights condensated up now on my 2018 MK2 R-Line.Lots on google about it, seems a common problem with the sealed LED units on all VW models.
      Very poor show from Volkswagen especially when these headlights are soo expensive

    excellent video, thanks. I have two headlights needing replacement (broken lenses along the bottom). I was considering replacing them individually, but I guess I need to do them both at once, since I'm totally dismantling the car.

    Fuckin hell. I just wanted more room to replace the headlight bulb. Never buying a VW again. I hate almost everything about my Tiguan. Good video though. Cheers

    About to tackle this project. Concerned about the potential for fault codes surfacing as one person comment on. Anyway to avoid that? Do you absolutely have to disconnect all those electrical connection?

    Yeah, my old Hyundai Elantra did not require an entire bumper removal, and I was able to replace my headlights on my own. This is ridiculous!

    Would this process be applicable to the 2022-2024 (after facelift) model years?
    Got hit by debris on the highway and my headlamp is chipped and has a small hole along the base

      @SelectVehicleSpares  7 місяців тому +1

      We haven't had the facelift model in to confirm this, but I would think that all the mounting points are in the same place and the process should be very similar.

      @@SelectVehicleSpares Thank you for answering! All in all - how much time did this take you working straight through? 1 hr 2 hr or 3 hrs?
      Dealership is quoting me at least 2 hours of labour

    • @SelectVehicleSpares
      @SelectVehicleSpares  6 місяців тому +1

      @@RubzNotNice It should take around 1 hour for a professional.

    Do I need to replace the whole headlight if only the daylight running light is the problem? The running daylight that’s always stays on is slowly getting less bright

    • @SelectVehicleSpares

      As far as we know, the whole unit would require replacing. The DRL isn't available as a separate part. You may be able to take the headlight apart, but we haven't tried this ourselves.

    Since doing this process my car came up with 7 faults when I put everything back together. They’ve all cleared themselves all but air bag fault. Any ideas what I should try to resolve? Thanks

      Six faults and I'd dive in. Seven gives me pause... as the other commenter says "Fuckin' hell!"

    Thanks for the Video.... Proof that German cars are not maintenance friendly (poor design) ....No wonder, Chinese will kill them with EV's.

    OK that was the complicated way... What is the simple way now?😂😂😂 When changing a light bulb will cost you £100 instead of £10 with all the risks to scratch the paintwork or not putting something back properly. Completely rubbish design.

      This video is how to remove the headlight. You can change bulbs without removing the headlight.
