    I learn something new every time I watch a new quilting video. Not only did I learn a new corner technique but I learned about using a zipper foot to stitch in the ditch! Nice quilt too.

    You did an amazing job on your Winter Wonderland Quilt. That is a pretty cool technique with mitering the corners. Yeah you won at Spool and Bobbin Chicken way to go! Great job!

    Wow that binding technique is interesting, I have never seen it done that way. Your quilt is beautiful. Maybe record a short of you walking in and seeing it hanging in the quilt shop? Yay for winning thread chicken x 2 🐔🐔

    This video actually came when I was questioning how I was going to be able to bind a table runner when I didn't have enough fabric for continuous binding and wasn't supposed to use the backing fabric. You helped a lot!!! Now I just have to follow the directions you gave. Wish me luck. :-) I'm a new subscriber. :-)

    I'm so happy for you! The finished quilt is lovely. I think your art quilts should go on display so the public can admire them, perhaps your public library display.

    Jodi, I have no clue about “stitch in a ditch” 😂 but this quilt is amazing!!!

    • @QuiltSquirrel
      @QuiltSquirrel  20 днів тому

      Thank you so much! Stitch in a ditch is just where you sew in the seam where two pieces are sewn together.

    This is amazing. How far into the corner did you sew your strips before sewing the triangle?

      I stopped and started each strip 1/4" from all corners.

    I promise I won’t look but I’d really like to see how you square up a king quilt! I have one that’s 109 by 109, and it’s freaking me out!

    • @QuiltSquirrel
      @QuiltSquirrel  Місяць тому +1

      Don't freak out squaring it up, just take your time. In my Competition Quilting Binding Technique video which I recorded after this one, I gave a quick demo of how I squared my king sized quilt using kettle bells to help hold everything secure before I cut. Just remember, measure 2 or 3 times before you cut.

  • @tonigould2589
    @tonigould2589 Місяць тому

    Do I understand correctly that before doing the corner joins in this technique, you sew a binding strip onto each side of the quilt, rather than sewing one continuous binding strip around all sides? In other words, this new technique produces 4 joins, one at each corner - do I have that right? I'm trying to understand the advantage of doing the technique you're demonstrating. Thanks for sharing!

    • @QuiltSquirrel
      @QuiltSquirrel  Місяць тому

      That is correct. I am doing another video showing the technique from start to finish. The benefit is that your mitered corners are sewn with this technique. I also think it's easier. No more hoping that where my binding strips are sewn together ending up in the corners.
