I very glad minecraft now has many more side quests and has slightly bigger difficulty! I have played minecraft for 10 years since the 1.4 update and I am AMAZED by how much stuff has added, both good and bad. (I even played during the dark age)
I’m really happy about biome-specific soundtracks- it adds a bit of personality to the game, and breathes feeling into more boring biomes like deserts.
I think the bamboo block is an amazing addition to the game because you can now live in a bamboo forest without having to bring in other wood types.This makes it less annoying to run into and more convenient since the bamboo is everywhere and is easy to mine.
5:30 I don't care what everyone is going to said but that is probably my most favorite part of 1.20 the fact that now diamond get a new recipe after more than 10 years and neitherite became harder to obtain is for me really good

I just started playing minecraft again after a long time and wow have they added a lot of new stuff. In some ways it’s a whole new game to me, caves are so different and massive, and there’s a lot more goals to work toward than before. Having fun with this game has been nice recently.

With the armor trims added, there are roughly 3,840 different armor combinations, with 6 types of armor, 10 types of colors, and 16 armor trims… 6 • 10 = 60 • 16 = 960 And if you account for the fact that there are four armor pieces, then that would be 960 • 4, which is 3840, and if you account for the turtle helmet, then you have 10 • 16 = 160 + 3840 Adding up to 4000 armor combinations… and don’t even get me started on the combinations of dyed leather, do that yourself…

I remember how cool it was when they added horses and then rabbits, now I’m getting to see these super pretty pink wood blocks that I don’t need to have a mod for.
When archeology was first introduced they showed how with the brush you would remove layer by layer of the blocks a bit like snow, so you could do dirt slabs. It's sad they removed it, that was so cool! Pottery was also much cooler when first revealed. I still don't get why did they scrap the idea.
I can agree. The fact this feature was butchered by Mojang hurts my soul. I wouldn’t mind if they were purely decorative if they had released the Minecraft Live version. It was so much better.
the moment this update came out, i immediately searched for the cherry grove and a sniffer egg and together, i used it to create a habitat for the sniffer. it's really beautiful~

you can enter the gamefiles and make the torchflower produce light. should work in shader packs too if done right. it doesnt make light come only from the top though the whole block is lit up.
Iron axes are extremely common in ocean ruins, as when I went to loot some ocean ruins I broke a total of 15 pieces of sus gravel and I got 7 iron axes

Hoping that 1.21 will have ton of features than 1.20, such as vertical slab, stack capacity raise 64 > 150 and others 16 > 30. Squid and Goat can now add to drop meat for survival. Fish nets added and could now collect more fish and other materials, in the water but 4x4 requirement. Apple seed can craft from 1 Apple and have 6 apple seed, at once and to grow apple tree and produce 3 apples. Prone by press and hold sneak button for couple few second and it cost 1 block and speed of 3.87 m/s to stand is press sneak button. Glowstone block can now dye and can craft 18 glowstone stick then can dye as well.
Hopefully the next updates will add actually useful new things, like being able to dye any block any color you want, quartz brick stairs, new brick types, new lamps, vertical slabs etc. It’s nice of them to think about survival players, but creative players need some love too
Yea honestly idc what people think after the massive updates with a nether and new world generation updates I think some small updates will give us a break to take it in but the community says otherwise they say we need every update to be massive even at the cost of the developers health honestly the communities bull has made me distance myself from the community and minecraft as a whole and it's kinda sad

Ooo, this was helpful. I don’t play Minecraft too often but I’ve picked it up lately. I didn’t know about the bamboo and the camels! I’m trying to do hardcore ( I’m playing on normal but for a just in case I die but don’t want my world to be destroyed.) So I was trying to build a house so I look up a vid and I thought the game was paused. Turns out it wasn’t and I got killed by a stupid drown. I was so sad, I’m not counting that as dying though since I wasn’t even playing when it happened.
I'm so glad I watched this because I've been looking for a sniffer egg and I kept looking in sand temples because I thought that's where they spawned. Now, I know where to look.
I wanted to make a new world for the update and spawned straight away in a mountain with cherry wood. Didn't know they were uncommon until now, intresting
By the way If any bedrock edition players are interested in playing in a world with an update before it comes out all you have to do is while you are making your world you go into resource packs and select whatever packs you would like to play with…. Which was why I knew about this update about 6 months before it being announced! Hope that helped!!

I am incredibly disappointed with the archeology. What we got feels incredibly stripped down compared to the trailer. Everything else we got in this update was primarily decorative. The small adventure portion we got feels incredibly bare bones.
I was waiting for this update because me and my boyfriend started a new world and he got lucky with the seed. So he got a REALLY big cherry grove biome I think like 4 in one spot. But we had to travel for it which was fine! I adore the biome tho it’s a great home spot Only downside is that mobs will struggle to die by sunlight
Once I was able to explore the update on my Xbox, I went to my village an replaced all the wood on one of the houses to the cherry wood and used bricks for the floor instead of gravel so when I was finished I had a cute little pink villager house
I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of hoping there would be an additional mechanic with the pots. Sure there are plenty of things in minecraft that are purely decorative and also only fit certain themes, though the fact that the pots also have designs on them had me hoping they would have some unique effect if "triggered", however that would be (redstone, destruction, projectile, certain flowers, blocks like sand or gravel dropped in, etc.) Still, this update made some good decisions, added more spice to minecraft, and did some needed essential changes (Since it's been a while since I played, it took me a bit to realize how nice retyping signs could be without destroying them) that I think were alright. I hope that if more updates are expected, that they only come sooner.

Once I was able to explore the update on my Xbox, I went to my village an replaced all the wood on one of the houses to the cherry wood and used bricks for the floor instead of gravel so when I was finished I had a cute little pink villager house

honestly im really happy about this update, i think its the best one for builders yet
my favorite feature is the fact that the camel update released on hump day
Armor trims seem so useful for fantasy or medieval builds.

I'm so glad you didn't make the "SUS" joke, I hate it and it is too overused
I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of hoping there would be an additional mechanic with the pots.
Sure there are plenty of things in minecraft that are purely decorative and also only fit certain themes, though the fact that the pots also have designs on them had me hoping they would have some unique effect if "triggered", however that would be (redstone, destruction, projectile, certain flowers, blocks like sand or gravel dropped in, etc.)
Still, this update made some good decisions, added more spice to minecraft, and did some needed essential changes (Since it's been a while since I played, it took me a bit to realize how nice retyping signs could be without destroying them) that I think were alright. I hope that if more updates are expected, that they only come sooner.

10:04 I dont like the fact that you need a silk touch tool to get chiseled boockshelves back. It's logic if you tell me it's like for normal shelves but when you break them you get 3 books and not nothing.
Minecraft should really add more color to Minecraft. As in wood, stone and the other materials. Really gives more fun to it.
Now MatPat needs to do a theory on where these ruins and things fit in.
Okay maybe I need to pick up Minecraft again
