A commonly known glitch is that if the player gets too far from the dolphins, their ai stops, causing them to drown. Maybe try a chunk loader in the dolphin enclosure so their ai doesn't stop.
Not a glitch. it is an oversight coded intentionally into them. (at least from bedrock) Dolphins have 2 breath bars (or 1 technically, but bear with me). When in water, they are holding their breath. To prevent drowning, they need to breach or just be out of the water. When out of water, they have a timer (the second breath bar). If they dont get back in the water, they dry out and die. So the mob will constantly try to manage both breath and drying out timers. The problem and oversight shows up in the games' hardcoded feature. When a player is far enough away from a mob. Their AI is deactivated, but any timers will not be frozen. This leaves the dolphin unable to prevent itself from dying or drowning. Mojang made dolphins that die on their own. And yet call us players monsters if we were to kill them.

the thing with dolphins is that they need open air to breathe, or they actually drown, but if you give them any flat surface they *will* jump onto it and suffocate. to combat this, lower the water level in their tank (because you can't exactly raise the walkway) by a considerable amount so they can't just kill themselves on the pathways, or better yet, put a layer of glass and add soul sand on the bottom of their tank so they won't drown or suffocate.

This is the first time I audibly went "No freakin' way!" at a title I got in notifications. I knew there was so many fish combinations, I couldn't imagine somebody collecting them all!
This project is INSANE I just recently started playing Minecraft again and I’m struggling to build an iron farm XD you built a guardian farm, a MASSIVE build, a fish farm, you got almost the rarest animal in the game, along with all of its variants, and you proceeded to get every other water creature, WHAT? I remember watching this the first time and being like “wow” now I am absolutely blown away by your dedication of this. I feel like I have to watch all the behind the scenes to fully understand what you went through. This is awesome 👏
45:57 Sea Turtles go to the beach they spawned on to lay their eggs. This is why you moving the first turtles to the aquarium and breeding them didn’t work. Their AI is trying to return to their own beach so now you permanently have a pregnant turtle stuck in a corner. 💀💀
Hey mud, I think this would look a whole lot better with a clear water resourcepack, not one that makes the water invisible, but just makes it slightly clearer so you can actually see the fish, love the video!
Honestly I’m just commenting to boost interaction with this cuz this level of dedication deserves attention. Plus I like your voice, it’s nice enough to pay attention to but not loud so I can ALSO queue up your vids to sleep if I want.
When you walk away from mobs, they become unloaded meaning they don't move but can still experience things like drowning and suffocation. Even if you nametag the dolphins, because of the fact that they need to constantly interchange between water and air, they will either drown or suffocate because they can't move. This doesn't happen with other mobs because the dolphin is unique in needing to constantly move between water and air to survive. Putting the dolphins in your spawn chunks (which are always loaded) or never leaving the dolphins are the only ways you can prevent this.
I believe an enclosed tank with soul sand bubble columns will also work, but then the dolphins will be forced to the top of it all the time (open tank won't work, they'll suffocate)
@@Halinn Wouldn't you be able to build something similar to what Mud Flaps did in the video where he made the thing that semi-automated catching the tropical fish (where the soul sand moved to let the fish spawn)? Would that solve it?
This is something I used to dream of doing back when tropical fish were added. And with my longest video only taking about 20 hours of editing, I have a whole new respect for this man. Congratulations!
6:37 "So now, if I stand in this little spot, all the fish we pushed right up in front of the player ready to be collected." I had an aneurysm listening to that.
I remember, I built a mob zoo and creative mode and I had seven dolphins, almost all of them except for three killed themselves via drowning. so it’s best to have water columns, most likely soul sand. but they can also die when they’re on the surface for too long.
Next challenge, Camman18 said "No one could every get all the leather armor color" But you could dye them green and then red, and than white. So good luck.
The main thing with leather armour is you can use multiple dyes to dye them more than 16 colors and you can get trims so the total count of them is something like 900 million different sets so even for mud this is basically impossible
@@hercar20xx5 yea at that point i think it would literally be impossible due to the limitations of technology, as in, it would be too laggy 😭 need a quantum computer or some shi
@@_sandy_ I feel like the "limitations" of a human life are a lot more important here. Like if there's actually 900 million and if we're generous and say one takes a minute, it'd still take you around 1.712.328,77 years to complete. I'd say that's at least a little bit longer than a human life and also probably longer than the time whatever hardware you're using can store any given information... Also statistically speaking longer than our civilization will be around.
@@Monkeymario.Well hard drives can store data anywhere from 10 to 50 years and considering how this would take literally thousands of life times, it would probably also fail due to the technological limitations... And all that before talking about how big that world file would be at some point, you'd have to probably transfer it to an entire server room after a few centuries, assuming the data hasn't corrupted after copying it to hundreds of different hard drives over the centuries.
The most insane part of this is that with your world age there's no way you didn't have some of these already ready to go, or some of these farms, or some of these mobs, or anything. You started from scratch and I'm honestly really impressed with your commitment.
I like how no minecraft hardcore youtuber can be trapped on the nether roof: they can just walk, like, a thousand blocks and find a random nether portal they placed 37 hours ago.
On every single one of my friends Minecraft servers, I always collect rare tropical fish. I can't say how happy I am to see someone actually care about catching rare tropical fish
The problem you were having with the dolphins was because Minecraft only runs the ai for entities within a certain distance of the player. The dolphins’ drown timers still ticked down while they were too far from you to move, so they died. The only way I know of to prevent this is bubble columns. Putting them in minecarts in bubble columns works. You might be able to use magma blocks and cover the floor with boats so they don’t touch the magma blocks, or use soul sand and have a roof, but I’m not completely sure about those working
@tetriscat66 I am very confused. I have a named Dolphin in a bay that has been in my world for 2 months. I leave its chunks fairly often as well, and it is still alive when I go back to the bay.

12:48 don’t know if anyone else had said this but I will. Two solutions. A. You just use signs on all the exhibits. Doesn’t use xp, really easy if you have tons of wood or a wood farm. B. Catch all the fish first then build an anvil stack at the gold xp farm (or another possible xp farm, skeleton, enderman etc) so you don’t have to fly back and forth. Maybe only flights required are for bringing the fish to the xp farm and to their exhibit in shulker boxes. (Easier if you use a xp farm near all the fish) I know you’ve already done this but in case anyone else wants to pain themself or you do in the future for some odd reason
Ah, I have such fond memories of making a rare tropical fish aquarium in my ocean world. This video makes me really appreciate how much more fun it is to catch like 10 rare fish swimming around the ocean instead of getting all of them from a fish generator haha Seriously though, this is legitimately impressive. Is it weird to call this art, in a way? To dedicate so much time to something so utterly pointless just because you can, because you want to, because someone told you that nobody would. That is something like art.
every time I see one of those "I collected EVERY mob in minecraft" I quietly think to myself "it would be insane if someone did this and actually included all the tropical fish" but I never thought I'd actually see the day.

The fact people can dream up and execute mad man schemes like this in Minecraft just boggles my mind and certainly keeps me tuning in for more. No wonder it remains so popular!
Estimation of the amount of fish you have to catch: 10*3072*(1/1+1/2+...+1/3050) tropical fish, assuming 1 in 10 tropical fish are useful, and you get 3072 random fish and want to fill 3050 slots. This is approximately 8.60028*3072*10= 264,200.60... I guess other people would use 3072 twice in the calculation, making it a few hundred more, but this is more accurate, because of the 22 common fish I guess you would already have by that time.
Hey man, you've just single handedly gotten me back into minecraft content, thanks lol I've always been keen to get back into the game after a couple years of not playing, so I'm hoping that after I finish school I could get myself a proper gaming laptop or something and catch up on everything I've missed. And now that I'm older I'll get to appreciate all the game has to offer and be able to mess around with the game mechanics Thanks for your dedication, your builds and projects all turn out really cool :)
Great video and masochistic levels of effort, but one critism of the main build is that the pillars being between the pods instead of under them makes it feel verut unstable. Most buildings like these put the supports below the heavier parts of the build, so i think it would look better if the pillars were beneaths the pods
46:03 Turtles need to lay their eggs where they spawned, so abducting a turtle means it cant breed - breeding random wild ones and Silk Touching the eggs is the easiest way to get turtles even tho it can take long for them to hatch - but those hatchlings consider where they hatched their spawn and so WOULD breed there.
Honestly i never subscribe to a channel who asks for it, but this guy deserves an exception 😂 3+ months to build an aquarium with every water based mob and a few honorary exceptions gotta say mad respect.
And to think I'm having trouble finishing college, there are people like you out there having enough sanity to invest into a 1000 hour fish project in a videogame... Why do you make it seem like "burnout" does not exist as a concept lol
I like how you call this an aquarium despite the fact it's actually a massive prison complex you are keeping the fish in for your own amusement. Really channeling the British in that one.
@Rubberduckboy123 that would be a real grind challange but if you built a villager trading hall that has every enchantment it's not hard just takes time
Idk much about Guardian farms. But Grian made a good one where he used just a single chunk of an underwater temple. Took him an hour to build. But then had to expand its storage capacity twice bc of overflowing. 50 double chests for a few hours didn't cut it. Idk how good yours is, but if you're interested, ctrl+c this - - > Grian Hermitcraft 10: Episode 15 I guess you could find several temples at the right distances, and do a double or triple farm.
Camman: here's a challenge for you
Flaps: and I took that personally

You could also hide a chunk loader somewhere nearby to keep the dolphins alive. That way, you wouldn't need to move the build.
dolphins are just really dumb tbh. I hope mojang has mercy on the poor ungulates
3 bubble elevator
This is something I used to dream of doing back when tropical fish were added. And with my longest video only taking about 20 hours of editing, I have a whole new respect for this man. Congratulations!
It’s the fact that he finished Camman’s quest but also called him a off brand teletubbie💀🤣 Respect to you my guy
6:37 "So now, if I stand in this little spot, all the fish we pushed right up in front of the player ready to be collected." I had an aneurysm listening to that.
For the dolphins, you need to have water columns to prevent them from drowning when the chunks unload.
@@hercar20xx5 yea at that point i think it would literally be impossible due to the limitations of technology, as in, it would be too laggy 😭

@@_sandy_just turn down the render distance or get a better pc

46:42 the fact that you just quickly cut through build "just two" of such impressive builds
You might be able to use magma blocks and cover the floor with boats so they don’t touch the magma blocks, or use soul sand and have a roof, but I’m not completely sure about those working

i really like that minecraft videos in youtube went from a 5 vids per day to a single video in atleast some days and i have even more respect for the people that really put themselfs in their projects
(Easier if you use a xp farm near all the fish)
I know you’ve already done this but in case anyone else wants to pain themself or you do in the future for some odd reason
You make yourself go through levels of torture I would have never even imagined. That's pretty inspiring.
Ah, I have such fond memories of making a rare tropical fish aquarium in my ocean world. This video makes me really appreciate how much more fun it is to catch like 10 rare fish swimming around the ocean instead of getting all of them from a fish generator haha
Seriously though, this is legitimately impressive.

Estimation of the amount of fish you have to catch:
10*3072*(1/1+1/2+...+1/3050) tropical fish, assuming 1 in 10 tropical fish are useful, and you get 3072 random fish and want to fill 3050 slots.
This is approximately
8.60028*3072*10=
264,200.60...
I guess other people would use 3072 twice in the calculation, making it a few hundred more, but this is more accurate, because of the 22 common fish I guess you would already have by that time.
I don’t have the time to read this
But I think you have too much time on your hands

Great video and masochistic levels of effort, but one critism of the main build is that the pillars being between the pods instead of under them makes it feel verut unstable.
