Usually when I look into buying games with majority positive reviews, I'll look specifically for the negative reviews. This is to see if there are any valid major criticisms of the game. It's negative reviews like yours that convince me that there is no reason not to hold off buying the game. I'd struggle finding people arguing in worse faith on twitter.

The devs not wanting to comment on the the war and claiming not wanting to discuss politics could mean A. If they denounce the war, they get thrown out a window in a hotel. B. They applaud the war and are viewed negatively, affecting there game. Just because they are making a game that is based on something that can be perceived as political, doesn't mean they have to comment on real world politics.
People have discovered multiple racist slurs against Ukraine people and derogatory comments in the game or character depictions aimed at Ukraine people specifically. There's also references to Donetsk which was occupied by Russia since 2014. Ukraine women are compared to sex slaves and the game turned out to be filled with Russian propaganda AGAINST Ukraine people. Ukraine has therefore asked Microsoft, Sony and Valve to ban the game. There's also an entire article from Eurogamer that explores that connections of the developer to the Russian government and how they funded the game to spread hate towards Ukraine people. They used smaller companies to mask the fact they were backing it. A lot of this stuff was confirmed or semi confirmed today. More stuff is coming out as more people play the game. Oh and yeah, the game released on february 21st 2023 which just so happens to be the anniversary of when Putin signed the decree that recognised Ukraine's two breakaway territories(february 21st 2022).

It is very said that a lot of people decided to buy the game. I think it is because the wrong arguments have been used. The main argument that should have been throughout the video is the fact that the russian budget will get money to keep amassing the military, buying rockets, and bribing politicians in Europe and USA. ( Some people may argue that the company is based in Cyprus and so the taxes will be paid there, however, this game dev company has its investors in russia who will be paid dividends that will be taxed and thus sent to the army ) And furthermore when looking not so far in the future, as Ukraine War became the biggest war in Europe since WWII, I would like you to ask yourselves: " When I will be asked by my children or grandchildren or friends what did I do to stop the war and prevent the genocide that is committed every day by russian army ", are you going to say" I was bored and thus because of my weak will power I bought a game about a communist dystopia and donated money to russian army." Furthermore, even if these arguments did not convince you not to play a game. I would ask you to pirate it / only watch a walkthrough on UA-cam or alternatively take a challenge. In this Challenge, you would be supposed to live for a week in a way Ukrainians lived for 5 Months: October, November, December, January, and February. I would ask you to stop the use of ELECTRICITY except for 3 hours per day. And to clarify this does not just mean getting rid of the internet. This means: Your fridge works only for 3 hours per day, your lamp only works for 3 hours per day, and you can charge your devices only for 3 hours per day (including if you have an electric vehicle ). You can only do work involving the internet for 3 hours per day. Basically, anything involving electricity must be cut out for a whole week. And to make it realistic these 3 hours would usually be at 3 AM when Ukrainian mothers had to wake up to cook food that would not spoil for 3 days, do some work, washing, learn the news, charge the devices ( oh I forgot to say you can actually use carryable computers and phones if they are charged but without internet, that means you can only view/ play/watch only pre-downloaded content ). I bought it, it's fucking amazingly mysterious, story us fantastic even though the main character is denser than the core of a star, I loved the plot and message, it has no ties to modern Russia other than the studios origin. Ultimately, it was a very enjoyable experience for me as a Ukrainian
Honestly I have totally taken a liking to the character and his talking glove. Usually I don't like puzzles in games but the fact the character hates them somehow made them more enjoyable in some weird subversive way. The character being kind of childish is also kind of a nice change over "silent protagonist" and "serious character guy", genuinely got a few laughs from me at this point. Like it is just a story about a guy having a really bad day and I am here for it.
tbh i hated this game, it's like eating paper for me, locations don't have THAT feel to them, they are just weird. optimalisation sucks too and i feel like that beginning 4 h bunker sequence might have been made so long just for you to not be able to refund the game

The hogwarts legacy boycott is based on the views of the author of the books, it's a different situation. That boycott is at the very least justifiable since it is supporting someone who is bigoted, unlike the Atomic heart boycott which is very literally just racist (I don't have any issue with people playing or buying hogwarts legacy, I just understand the thought process behind the boycott)

People have discovered multiple racist slurs against Ukraine people and derogatory comments in the game or character depictions aimed at Ukraine people specifically. There's also references to Donetsk which was occupied by Russia since 2014. Ukraine women are compared to sex slaves and the game turned out to be filled with Russian propaganda AGAINST Ukraine people.
Ukraine has therefore asked Microsoft, Sony and Valve to ban the game. There's also an entire article from Eurogamer that explores that connections of the developer to the Russian government and how they funded the game to spread hate towards Ukraine people. They used smaller companies to mask the fact they were backing it. A lot of this stuff was confirmed or semi confirmed today. More stuff is coming out as more people play the game.
Oh and yeah, the game released on february 21st 2023 which just so happens to be the anniversary of when Putin signed the decree that recognised Ukraine's two breakaway territories(february 21st 2022).

It is very said that a lot of people decided to buy the game. I think it is because the wrong arguments have been used. The main argument that should have been throughout the video is the fact that the russian budget will get money to keep amassing the military, buying rockets, and bribing politicians in Europe and USA. ( Some people may argue that the company is based in Cyprus and so the taxes will be paid there, however, this game dev company has its investors in russia who will be paid dividends that will be taxed and thus sent to the army )
And furthermore when looking not so far in the future, as Ukraine War became the biggest war in Europe since WWII, I would like you to ask yourselves: " When I will be asked by my children or grandchildren or friends what did I do to stop the war and prevent the genocide that is committed every day by russian army ", are you going to say" I was bored and thus because of my weak will power I bought a game about a communist dystopia and donated money to russian army."
Furthermore, even if these arguments did not convince you not to play a game. I would ask you to pirate it / only watch a walkthrough on UA-cam or alternatively take a challenge. In this Challenge, you would be supposed to live for a week in a way Ukrainians lived for 5 Months: October, November, December, January, and February. I would ask you to stop the use of ELECTRICITY except for 3 hours per day. And to clarify this does not just mean getting rid of the internet. This means: Your fridge works only for 3 hours per day, your lamp only works for 3 hours per day, and you can charge your devices only for 3 hours per day (including if you have an electric vehicle ). You can only do work involving the internet for 3 hours per day. Basically, anything involving electricity must be cut out for a whole week. And to make it realistic these 3 hours would usually be at 3 AM when Ukrainian mothers had to wake up to cook food that would not spoil for 3 days, do some work, washing, learn the news, charge the devices ( oh I forgot to say you can actually use carryable computers and phones if they are charged but without internet, that means you can only view/ play/watch only pre-downloaded content ).

I bought it, it's fucking amazingly mysterious, story us fantastic even though the main character is denser than the core of a star, I loved the plot and message, it has no ties to modern Russia other than the studios origin. Ultimately, it was a very enjoyable experience for me as a Ukrainian
Honestly I have totally taken a liking to the character and his talking glove. Usually I don't like puzzles in games but the fact the character hates them somehow made them more enjoyable in some weird subversive way.
The character being kind of childish is also kind of a nice change over "silent protagonist" and "serious character guy", genuinely got a few laughs from me at this point. Like it is just a story about a guy having a really bad day and I am here for it.
tbh i hated this game, it's like eating paper for me, locations don't have THAT feel to them, they are just weird. optimalisation sucks too and i feel like that beginning 4 h bunker sequence might have been made so long just for you to not be able to refund the game
