Was late to the party but WOOO THIS IS SICK!! Though I'd love a little sidequest (or easteregg I suppose) where if you recorded either Moon, Pebbles, or both, when you return to the colony of slugcats, it adds a new part of the ending cutscene where the Scholar is showing and explaining all the little pups about what it thinks the iterators are and how it all went. Overall amazing design and concept.
Thanks :) I think a sidequest thing with Moon and Pebbles would be really cute too. I did want to include *something* with the iterators but didn't know what since I assumed most players would just visit them anyway, so I think this is a really fun idea!
@@Wallace_Horsey what if you could take a picture of moon and deliver to pebbles and he would read it and have some dialogue about it, that would be neat
Yeah! it was a *REALLY* old project from when I had a discord server and worked on it with the community. Thought I would bring some of the old ones back cause I still really liked the designs :3
Okay, there's a lot to love here. Firstly, the slugcat. It's amazing. Here's why. I feel like too many mods try to be too...uh, extravagant(The Meteor, I'm looking at you.)While it's great to have fun concepts I feel like sometimes it can be downright ridiculous. And is nice to see a slugcat more grounded in the original game, my best analogy is that sometimes vanilla is the best flavour. Also, the creatures(and other stuff) I like how unique many of them are, as well as the lore behind their appearance and presence, especially the Secretaries, Razorbacks and recorder. It's also nice to see symbiotic relationships and reputation interactions. Overall this was a great way to close out the 4k Mark. Keep it up man.
@@entropy._boy Thank You! I’ve noticed that with a lot of modded scugs too. While I like their crazy abilities from a gameplay standpoint, they just don’t feel very “Rain World-y” I still find them fun to play, Wingcat is my favorite, but it would be nice to get some that are more related to the world and story, rather than just having some crazy abilities.
@@jessiesowter the purpose of rain world is to simulate an ecosystem that the player is simply another part of. The story of the iterators really only took more focus in Downpour with campaigns like Saint and Spearmaster, but if you look back at the OG Survivor, the most he can really do with Pebbles and Moon is talk to them after receiving the mark, he doesn’t have any effect on their story.
@@jessiesowter no, it doesnt, i and many others would rather not spend all our time running back and forth between angsty robots in a lush gorgeous world ripe to explore, but no theres time limits and a rush always that takes away from the true game feel .
@@Wallace_Horsey I'll admit i kind of misunderstood what original comment meant, by that I meant it more as "slugcats being the main focus defeats the purpose" - I know the game is designed to simulate an ecosystem & I've read through the devlog archive multiple times. Joar said he wanted to kind of recreate a 'rat in manhattan' sort of thing, and an integral part of the game is that you are _not_ the main character. @@jessiesowter Yeah i agree most of the modded slugcats lean way too much into the op abilities and focus less about everything else. (it’s why my concepts are mostly centered around creatures but that’s beside the point) They can be fun to play but the stories just don’t fit with what Rain World is originally trying to do. It’s a big reason why Gourmand is my favorite, cause it not only has a ton of unique abilities whilst maintaining a nice balance (at least in my opinion) but it also sticks to that original concept of the slugcat just casually stumbling upon the iterator rather than seeking them out purposely as their campaign.

I actually quite like the idea of the Titan. Though its design feels too similar to a Dinosaurs and would feel a tiny bit out of place in RainWorld, I do like the idea of it being massive. The sort of creature that you might not really notice on your screen until it takes a step. Plus being so large, its head would assumably be off-screen for the majority of your encounters with it. Giving a sense of mild dread as you are unsure of what they actually are.
