Yeah agreed about Chester, especially when he was young that scream mode was so explosive combined with his ability to gracefully go back to his melodies. It’s like watching a young D-Rose or Westbrook and when he gets in his melodies when he gets older it’s graceful like Steph
As you saw at the end you can see just how much anger and frustration Chester let out during the song
People may think that they acted tough only because all the other bands were heavy metal but thats only half of it, they were well known for letting off steam during their concert and Chester was by far the one with the most to let out

I suppose he could’ve done it on an exhale but there is a very specific way that you inhale that tricks your body into opening up your vocal cords on and inhale producing that exact distinctive shriek it would just be unusual to be able to sustain and amplify it for that long it puts a lot of strain on your vocal cords because it isn’t natural which is why it makes that banshee like sound.
