What a difference a week makes. From the eyesore that is Detroit to the glorious Road America. Nice to see grass and gravel on the sides of the track again.

I'd love having an Australia race again, especially if we can start the season earlier, but hasn't the track at Surfer's Paradise been shortened with train tracks running through? I'm not sure IndyCar could race on that track anymore.

Downside of the Nascar fans coming to Indy is the drama they bring. But anyhow, nice to see the track has more grip this year and isn't just a single line anymore. Last year was rough to watch anyone come off line.

What do we not know about Tom Blomqvist?
His 500 debacle sealed the deal Tom just hasn't been on a good trajectory in open wheel cars. Some drivers adjust others don't. Tom will be driving sports cars for MSR where he excelled. Also Malukas is young and has been the bomb on ovals and the schedule from here out is bunches of ovals.
At the current rate, Blomqvist is going to drop that car out of the Top 25 which qualifies the team to get a $1 million payout from IndyCar. If Blomqvist was a pay driver or had a sponsor that would cover the $1 million loss Meyer Shank is likely to have, he'd still be in the seat.

Canapino was doing a better job than Grosjean, the great driver. In the standings they are almost together. Illot, the other super pilot, also achieved nothing. In both Indy 500s he was able to be in the Top 10 with a small team car, and he NEVER crashed another driver leaving him out of the race. Sucks? really?? The only thing that sucks here is your comment... friend.

Who's going to pay for it? I'd love to see it, but I'm also a realist, and for the majority of CART the series was ruled by Lola chassis and a Cosworth engine.

As Ian says, there's a line, and it's been crossed. It's one thing to tell somebody they suck. But it's another to send death threats. If I tried doing that the SWAT team would have me surrounded in no time.

Loving the longer replays..but so much footage of guys putting the cars off the road in this one? That's like making an NFL highlight video with nothing but fumbles. IIRC, I only saw three onboards of drivers running through "the kink" at full tilt. I understand that in race coverage, the 'fumbles' and dead cars pitting are part of the story..but for these practice/quail sessions, please just show us who's driving well. Member of SCCA for 40yrs. Flagged, raced, rallied, autocrossed. I've seen enough of people making mistakes. I've actually *made* enough mistakes. I watch professional racing because they're so much better at it than I ever was. Would you consider showing their efforts instead?

Agustin Canapino is a gentleman, a true Champion in & out of race cars, from a Racing Familiy, well educated, a race sim ace, his father was a respected legend Engine Builder, his brother races. He has an impecable reputation among his piers, multiple Touring Car Championships, in both TC & TC2000: Latin Americas most competitive and hard series by far. Sure for you Americans is nothing...so centered on yourselves. The CEO of Ford once visited and was amazed at the level of competition there. Both his race engineers now, are top class people, who chose to go be with him this year. He was about to beat in Indy and Detroit, the very people that now accuse him. Respect, beggets respect. Stereotyping and generalizing is wrong. Americans talk now about hate? and toxic behaviour? Moral high ground??
