There is no one like us. They are Yin & Yang. Even after the ending of Season 2, he will remain with her especially after her delivery with the Cut. They certainly were a wicked game to each other. I agree with what you said. I also agree with a lot of the things that the darkling said. He’s right in saying that Alina is naive in thinking the fold is her only problem. He’s also right in saying that they will hate Grisha again. Anytime one grisha makes one mistake they are persecuted and the darkling has watched that happened for hundreds of years. Who’s can say that all Grisha will be good and all kings will rule well? One of Nikolai’s own kids could decide to hurt Grisha again or the next generation. The persecution of grisha will never stop. All that the darkling wanted was to put an end to the fighting and make somewhere safe for his kind. He truly cared for Alina we know this because in his last moments he wasn’t even angry at her. He was so proud of her when she destroyed the fold and when he thought of a moment of peace it was her. Unrelated to the tv show I love the “little saint” at the end of this edit it almost had me in tears.

one thing that differentiates darkling from the typical villians is that he's aware he's a monster, and while alina was destroing the fold he was astoniched rather than furious trying to fight her. he's so split between his love for her and his vengeance.
Their story is heartbreaking and sad on its own without writers butchering it. Darklina and Alexande deserved better this season. But this video is so beautiful, showing all their connection and complexity.
Well if there is a season 3 and he is not reborn there, I am not going to watch. This show is all about Alexander and Alina, they must give them their final !! All others stand around her like servants, he was the only one standing like man, mentor, soulmate, lover. All his words to her were true and if Baghra didn’t ruin their moment in S1 he could have done out of love everything for her!

And he tried to help her, but so that she was next to him. Yes, his methods of struggle and the liberation of his people were very dubious, but Alina could change that. Instead of finding out, listening to him, how he will explain Baghra's words, about the fact that he is the Black Heretic and only uses her for his own purposes, Alina simply ran away and immediately labeled him "enemy". That's why he was furious. Their relationship was going well, everything was great, Alina could correct him later, guide him, and they could solve this situation together. Instead, there is so much loss, pain and sacrifice. Because there was no dialogue! Did not have. A couple of Kirigan's proposals, and Alina's incredulous angry face. Mal in season 2 fulfilled his role as the Firebird amplifier. He was there to protect her until she became strong. And Mal had to die. But he was resurrected in a "dark" way, and it was immediately clear that he had become a different person. He no longer had feelings for Alina and the desire to protect her. He calmly sought his way. And says you're meant for something more. But I would say: for SOMEONE more. Alina discovers darkness in herself and ... at the end of the last episode, she sees with a very pleased face and a grin how that woman was sawn into pieces from her "cut". Not from the light, but from the darkness. And she has no regrets. So I think her power will soon take on dark traits and in the end it will turn out that only Kirigan is her "refuge". And if they want to overcome the darkness, then they can only do it together. And both become light. purely my opinion)

Also I don’t believe Alina would have regrets in that scene seeing as how she would die if she didn’t do it but lastly I have a feeling Kirigan will return but in maybe a Merzost way?
You are completely skipping the fact that Darklings way of love is very toxic. Its possessive and suffocating. He is deciding what is best for her and others without asking. He keeps talking about ruling side by side as equals but being violent the moment she disagrees with him. I dont really even think he loves her as much as he loves the idea of her. You might see that in their very first scene together he doesnt care about her in the slightest when she is just a mapmaker... but his approach completely changes the moment he discovers that she is the sun summoner. But i do believe that he could change, since i think that majority of his flaws were indoctrinated into him by Baghra when he was a child. Then they were reinforced by tragedies happening in his life. The moment he has chosen peaceful approach, he was immediately betrayed. So its easy for him to believe that caring for someone is a weakness.
I want a tragic romance: -Alina gets slowly more dark, by being faced with difficult choices -Darkling gets resurrected, and becomes slowly more good, from his love for Alina (but she keeps pushing him away) -season 3 ends with the Darkling sacrificing himself to save Alina and the world -she admits she loves him, he dies at peace in her arms - the end. … Let's all admit this is the best poetic ending, and works best with the plot so far 💘

No, it won't. The writers openly said they ship Malina, and they wrote the break up so they can find their way back to each other. Besides, they ruined the connection scenes so they could get rid of darklina romance.
The series ended and there won't be another part . Also as i read the books , this cannot happen . Even tho the on screen adaptation wasn't all that loyal to the books but to make this happen they will have to stray too far away from the source material. The third and final book ends with the darkling's death and alina faking hers so she can live her happily ever after with mal , away from the grisha in keramzin . Although i would've loved to see alina ending up with aleksander and the darking getting a redemption arc . It really made me tear up when i read his death scene and his final words ..."someone to mourn me" as he saw alina's tears watching him die "no grave" "don't leave me alone" cuz he didn't want people to have something of him to curse at forever.

The Darkling has so many layers to him, layers which only started to come off when he was with Alina, and what do they do? They kill him. Just ridiculous. I wish Alina tried to understand the Darkling rather than be her stubborn self, because there was always some truth to what he was saying. And also whatever he did in whatever way he protected Grisha and saved them, rather than be persecuted like they always were. God, I'm furious even writing this 😂. I don't think I'll be able to watch the next season without Ben Barnes as the darkling to be honest 😐😞
Loved the video! I adore this song even though I've never heard this version. S2 ending broke me, I swear. And I know that maybe I'm bias, because I think Ben Barnes was stellar as Aleksander and I usually have a soft spot for broody tormented characters, but I think there was at least a slight possibility for redemption for him. Also, I've never fallen so fast and so deep for a character in my whole life, to be honest. And again, BB has surely played a part in that but it's the strength of Aleksander values and loyalty to his people that really draw me in so much. Of course, he's done some despicable things too, there's no denying that. Funny enough he's made bad choices when he lost someone he loved. He created the Fold after Luda's death and when Alina rejected him he thought he had nothing to lose or any other choice than go full evil. That a coincidence? Me thinks not. And so yeah, here I am, rooting for the vilain.

But everyone including his own mother called him evil for creating it. He only ever seems to make drastic actions for love. He loves the Grisha and he was taking drastic measures just to try and save them from persecution. And yes once he feels he's lost Alina forever, he gives up trying any diplomacy and goes straight villain. I need more justice for his character. How about we end it with Alina and Aleksander losing their grisha powers so that both can live happy peaceful lives raising a family.

I watched the whole damm show just for them. I hope to see them again in season 3. Alexander deserved better, he loved her but the only mistake he did was choosing power over love.

I read books and there bond was incredible, sometimes Alina herself come to Aleksander and not to try to hurt him but because she feel loneliness. And his death was so sensitive in books, Alina mourned him, she felt sorry for him...

And Baghra lied about a lot of stuffs too and Alina didn't give the chance to say what really happened, Baghra wasn't there to see what happened but her words were passed and accepted like a holy book. Baghra said that he wanted to make the fold. He didn't, he tried to make amplifiers for his followers to make them strong. She said that he intentionally made the volcra and they were women and children l. He didn't, the volcras were the soldiers who came after him, he turned no men, women, nor a child into a volcra ( men, women, and children probably were eaten by the volcras but he didn't turn regular people into monsters) She was the one to tell him to create a problem only a grisha can solve but when the fold happened she acted like he had nothing to do with it. She told him to dispear then to come back later with a new identity. Then, again she acted surprise to Alina when she told her about his different names like she wasn't the one to give him that idea. Baghra is a master class manipulator.
Even the relationship between Nikolai and Alina has more potential than Malina ,though show has tried a lot to illustrate a true love between them. For me I still ship darklina due to the chemistry between them in s1 and the way Ben Barnes act as the darkling , I just can’t hate the darkling and stop liking darklina!
Malina is a sunken disaster from the beginning. They're so desperate to make that crap happen that they literally made him part of the Darkling's family so now people that claim that the Darkling is "so bad look at his family," they now have to say that about Mal. And don't even get me started on how bloody ridiculous it is to think that Baghra can be redeemed but NOT Alexander, she's the one that taught him to be the way he was FFS.
I want to see a full conclusion of this dynamic instead of the "good one" pulling away because "evil". I've wanted to see that since watching Legend as a kid 😅
I really think he got hurt seeing how easily she gave up on him and once again he got seen as the villain but not just by anyone but his own kind, and someone he saw as a potential partner as he said his “equal “ someone he was catching feelings for, someone who made him feel less alone and with her she felt used because his own mother made her see it that way, i mean it clearly shows how into him she was getting how she decided to take that intimate step with him to me says a lot… the whole time i seen her as someone who felt used and betrayed by the person who became very important to her, the moment when she was talking to his mom and told her how she still felt him and how he was the first person who made her feel important, you can hear it in her voice and see it in her face that she was hurt by all he has done after what happened between them. I think that’s heartache when you love someone and have to let them go because they’re not good for you specially when she told him they could have had it all and he could of made her his equal… ugh its like a love that hurts they deserve so much more

Sankta Elizaveta will bring him back to life (a reference to the bee in the series), but then he will be imprisoned in oak. I haven't read Nikolai's dilogy, but I've seen spoilers.
Another Saint who was in love with him will bring him back, they there will be something that will destroy the entire world, so he sacrificed himself and got into a tree where he will be punished for eternity. Zoya somehow becomes the queen because the story doesn't know logic. Alina and Mal are married, also she lost her power (this should have been in this season but they changed it because the fans hated it in the books ( so I guess their solution is to let them break up, let her be corrupted, so Mal can come back and save her, finally she would lose her power just like in the books)

I don't think he was against destroying the fold per se but more against destroying the fold when there are no other alternatives.

She told him to dispear then to come back later with a new identity. Then, again she acted surprise to Alina when she told her about his different names like she wasn't the one to give him that idea. Baghra is a master class manipulator.

Even the relationship between Nikolai and Alina has more potential than Malina ,though show has tried a lot to illustrate a true love between them.
For me I still ship darklina due to the chemistry between them in s1 and the way Ben Barnes act as the darkling , I just can’t hate the darkling and stop liking darklina!
Malina is a sunken disaster from the beginning. They're so desperate to make that crap happen that they literally made him part of the Darkling's family so now people that claim that the Darkling is "so bad look at his family," they now have to say that about Mal. And don't even get me started on how bloody ridiculous it is to think that Baghra can be redeemed but NOT Alexander, she's the one that taught him to be the way he was FFS.

I really think he got hurt seeing how easily she gave up on him and once again he got seen as the villain but not just by anyone but his own kind, and someone he saw as a potential partner as he said his “equal “ someone he was catching feelings for, someone who made him feel less alone and with her she felt used because his own mother made her see it that way, i mean it clearly shows how into him she was getting how she decided to take that intimate step with him to me says a lot… the whole time i seen her as someone who felt used and betrayed by the person who became very important to her, the moment when she was talking to his mom and told her how she still felt him and how he was the first person who made her feel important, you can hear it in her voice and see it in her face that she was hurt by all he has done after what happened between them. I think that’s heartache when you love someone and have to let them go because they’re not good for you specially when she told him they could have had it all and he could of made her his equal… ugh its like a love that hurts they deserve so much more

Alina and Mal are married, also she lost her power (this should have been in this season but they changed it because the fans hated it in the books ( so I guess their solution is to let them break up, let her be corrupted, so Mal can come back and save her, finally she would lose her power just like in the books)
