Mdawg you need to go into your game settings and go to tackle load indicator and switch it to pro that way you know about your line your rod and your reel damage I hope this helps😊
The drag mechanics were changed in the latest update - when the stress bar is flashing red, the weak point in your tackle will deteriorate rapidly (a cynic would say that this was done to make Mile perch grinding more time-consuming, inspiring people to buy the ocean DLC). You have to set your drag one below max. In the game settings you can set the tackle load indicator to pro, which will separate your rod, reel and line, so you can see which is the weak point.
Hi Mdawg, I saw that you locked your reel when fish is pulling and that wears it faster drastically. But the weird thing is, why the reel got most of the brunt but not on the leader?
Yeah you can’t max drag it that’s why your gear is wearing out the reason the leader isn’t is because the reel wears out because it’s in the holder it’s weird that way so drop the drag down 1 notch and your gear will be fine

I think mine snapped on the bottom when doing a shard turn while trolling. Took like 30% durability off.
This map is broken in so many ways and the Devs really need to fix it
