    It appears the benchmark charts invert the Fury and Studio. You mention that the workstation GPU are important, but it shows the Studio (RTX 3070) topping the charts with the ProArt (RTX A5000) in the Solidworks chart.

    There is another aspect to it I 'd like to mention: (Obviously) extensive testing by HP. I have an old HP 2760p running since 12 years. I has been through 30+ countries. Regardless the jungles of South East Asia, high-altitudes and cold in Nepal and India, the cold in northern China, the tropics and humidity in Africa - and of course torture-like travel conditions to places like these. It never failed - EVER - not once ! Still running, and I am throwing at it what needs to be done. Obviously hardware moved on and my eyes like a bigger screen with age. Yet, this build-quality and hardware stability aspect can be important to some folks.

      Yep, and the only thing you will ever need to do to get to run nearly as fast as a brand new computer is stick a SSD in it and maybe a few extra GB of RAM.

      Same here. I have a Zbook 15 G2 almost 10 years now. Weights about 3.3 kg! Have been with me from the North of Norway till Tasmania. It never failed me. Only replaced the keyboard twice. Thinking about a Fury now, but will keep my old machine for "fieldwork"

    You forgot abaout the mil810h certification on the zbooks. This means they are much more resistant to tempreture low - 29c°as high 60c°, also they are proven to be shock resistant as well as sand resistant. Which is for a specific group really important (Field Technician).

    I love the build quality of the Z books. Also, If you can shop around and have time, you can get Z books 40-60% off. I'm not sure how much you can get off of a new ProArt.

      I have a Zbook Studio G3 (7 generations old now). Did one battery replacement. Lost the rubber on the bottom. Fingerprint reader stopped working. Other than that, still working like new after 6 years. No case flex, no display problems, no OS slowdown. Of course, it is now going obsolete because it doesn't support Windows 11.
      Back then HP offered a free 3 year onsite warranty and a friend actually had to use it - a HP came to his house, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the motherboard - all paid for by the warranty. My warranty never got used, but it gave me peace of mind that HP supported their products to that degree.

    Compared to the older generation of workstations, these days are laptops built in rather shady ways to strip them out of every gram. When you look at used laptops, even expensive ones, it's pretty common to find bent display lids where you clearly can see where some object pressed against the display lid created a permanent valley into it, not a big fan of the fact that you nowadays need to buy a rugged laptop to get something that did not get damaged in your bag just by a bit of pressure from things around. The last easily upgradable Zbook I would likely spend money on was Zbook 17 G6 with Blu-Ray drive for large video file backups and fully upgradable internals including GPU at still reasonable 3,2kg for a 17,3" laptop but that thing has some manufacturing quality control issues and whining coil sound presentation apart from extra price for Dreamcolor display and Quadro graphics performance and similar visual quality of which you nowadays can get much cheaper, though you can forget about Blu-ray drive or upgradability...

I have a beast pc here at home but if I have to go do a live presentation in front of a client and they want me to make changes on the fly, I need a laptop that can do so without causing embarrassment as it coughs and splutters.

      Blender is more gpu oriented, and is updated frequently since its open source. Getting the RTX is the best. The cost benefit advantage from a workstation gpu isn't much. AMD is a big no no, because they don't have optix ray tracing

      @@batmanonholiday4477 won't recommend the m2. I actually have an m1 max with me, I've purchased the zephyrus g15 and looking to sell the mac. The M chips need to get hardware ray tracing, essentially becoming gaming laptops, until then, macs are a no go. I'm facing other difficulties too, blender is open source and constantly evolving, apple is very closed in nature about their systems. So with a mac, you'll always be a year or two behind where blender is

      I am an architect and had one. Lasted 3 months before the mainboard & GPU started failing. The wifi and bluetooth mediatek cards are awful and drops connection a lot. Before the hardware failure, I had numerous driver issues even after updating everything. Event viewer had 1000's of warnings & errors. Also note that ROG laptops come with an insane amount of bloatware hogging ram. On startup the laptop had over 250 processes running. Maybe I got a bad egg, but search reddit, you will see a lot of issues with the M16. Still patiently waiting on Asus to refund me....

These programs need H series CPU that have more core for algo trading. But i do not decide a work station or gaming PC . • @aaronbredon2948
      @aaronbredon2948 Рік тому

      If you need Stability - go with a workstation.
      The Zbooks have a thermal design that supposedly works at keeping the case cool without getting too loud.
      Within the Zbooks, the Fury allows a lot of storage and memory plus better connectivity at the expense of additional weight. The Studio has a lower memory and storage capacity and has a lot fewer ports.
