I hear you Jackie. I’m a 44-yr-old African woman and I’m obsessed with this show. The Pivot is definitely crossing barriers. This particular episode has moved me beyond any other. I’ve watched it at least 4 times since it dropped yesterday. Darren Waller’s story is important. Much love to him and the whole podcast for engaging him like they did.

Most definitely, Miss Jackie. I’m a 25-year old African American. This story of Darren Waller has truly been incredible to witness. As someone who has never smoked or drank, it’s transcending to be a fan of a platform like Pivot, that put success stories like Darren Waller at the forefront, so they can teach all of us lessons on resilience, strength, and faith in one’s self, all while covering sports at the same time. Truly incredible. God bless.

As a drug addict living in recovery I want Darren to know that he is a great example of what is possible. Darren wakes up every morning with untreated drug addiction. The cure is abstinence. To the guys, there is always room for understanding. An addict in recovery's greatest achievement is in helping others to achieve sobriety. Great Show.

False sense of security will always be his downfall. Fred Taylor, Channing and RC don’t have to “act” like men, it’s just who they are. And they do it with strength, grace and humility

Watching and listening to Darren Waller as I’ve been aware of his story since the Raiders were on ‘Hard Knocks’, I’ve gotten the sense that he maybe hasn’t fully grasped how special he is. Not just his talent, but him still being alive. The fact that he figured out he needed to get clean and did while still young enough to be able to play in the NFL? Then to watch him now play at such an elite level, it’s great to see. Reminds me of Josh Hamilton in MLB. I worry less about Darren long term than I do Josh Hamilton.
    Proud of this young man.

I truly enjoyed this episode. Darren Waller I'm a fan and thank you for sharing your story. We can all pull life lessons from this. Fred you managed the conversation with respect and compassion. I loved the advise you gave Darren to be himself and the plays will come. By far this is my favorite episode

As a 30 year old man who is now 7 years clean, I know the struggles. Pain pills led to heroin, which led to prison. No male role models really, but to be able to watch this show and these men that I looked up to growing up, bring men like Darren on here. I think it is absolutely so very powerful. I appreciate every episode I watch!

Mental health can have many perceptions, with this pandemic my 2 boys were struggling at online learning. They are both extremely smart but were pretending to be online because the school system and us, as parents, demanded that from them. Whether it is in person or online. The youngest, 11 yrs old missed 2 weeks straight. The other one, 13 yrs old was always late to sign in, to
His online classes. When we approached them both and asked them why they were deceiving us. They both cried and said, “do you know how much it hurts to be lock inside a home all day without seen your friends. Do you know how hard it is to do homework when the teachers do not explain anything correctly through a computer screen. In short, it was an eye opener and very painful as a parent to here.
This story is so insightful, looking from outside, we see glamorous and amazing athletes. Never questioning what they can be going through.
Thank you again for sharing. May God bless the world and everyone battling with any type of addiction. May God bring peace to Ukraine and every human being. The world so needs it.

This was absolutely incredible. Thank you all for inviting Darren on the show, and thank you for being so transparent about your experiences, Darren. You are amazing, unique, brilliant, and you have a very powerful voice. Your life will make waves in and out of football. Addiction and poor mental health are very real, y'all. Therapy is incredible. For those who are hesitant, think of therapy or rehab/hospitalization as a reset/whole body check-in. Stay up, fam🤙🏿
