This demonstration in Amethyst is done on a Sri Lankan style machine by a master cutter with years of experience. Can you match his speed and accuracy in your preforming and cutting?

@@milansulc6871 no, mám v hlavě takové primitivní zařízení na ruční fasetování na šmirglu... Nějak se přece fasetovalo i v minulosti... Asi to nebude žádný festival, ale chci si sám vybrousit nalezený kámen do přívěsku z vlastního narýžovaného zlata... 😀 🌟⛏️❤️

@@InstituteofGemTrading thank you. I have been running into many rough's on eBay and bought a few that turns out to be undesirable. from what I gather, I need to be seeking "transparent" rough.

You could always facet/cut any kind of stones and, in your example Ruby even if it is not transparent. opaque, translucent or transparent, it doesn’t matter. Natural Ruby is very expensive, particularly transparent Ruby. If you have a good and facet-able rough Ruby, you still can facet it even if it is not transparent and/or not good translucent as It will give you the same experience and feeling of cutting a Corundum type stone. So go ahead and cut the kind of Ruby or Corundum you have, you will be OK. By the way, you can treat your stone after you facet it. If you know how to do it

I am going to learn to cut Montana Sapphires. The Sterling facet machine was recomend to me. Is their a US source or do I purchase from manufacturer?

The Sterling machines with faceter are $1,500 -$2,000. Then with the laps and transfer jig you're looking at another $750.

The water is supposed to carry out the the dust but it doesn’t hurt to wear a mask while faceting
