I’ve watched a dozen videos on the Alberto knot, and I have to say your’s is the very best over all. It’s easy to see, and you give an excellent display and explanation of what you’re doing.✊ Thanks
i come back to this video every time i need to re-tie the Alberto knot. cant remember it for the life of me. caught my PB largemouth two days ago and the the knot stayed strong! thank you!
I'm old. I have to use bifocals to see and have a little arthritis in my hands. This is the perfect knot for me to tie an 8# leader to my mainline braid. Thanks for producing such a great video!
Thank you! just started changing from double uni to alberto... also i find it aalberto knot is much neater and easier through the guides compared to double uni... Thanks again!
I have used the double uni knot for a long time, but I must say, I think I will be tying this from now on just for that little bit of extra strength. Thanks man!
I'm not sure which has been more frustrating for me...learning to tie the knot itself OR finding a really great video that teaches it properly, easily and informatively, LOL!!! Yours met the challenge and it is the VERY best video I found!!! The camera angles are perfect, you explained the information in great detail in a very slow, deliberate, and easily understood manner. The result is that my very 1st knot as a follow-along looks just about perfect. I'm going to go fish it right now and hopefully I tied it as well as your video demonstrates! Thank you VERY much. I Liked the video and I subscribed to your Channel. I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can learn from you. Have a God-blessed Resurrection day tomorrow!!! Bob in St. Louis.
A buddy of mine ran some (crude) tests on this knot versus the FG, which won the throwdown by a pound and a half. Considering how EASY the Alberto is to tie compared to the FG, I will be using the Alberto from now on. It's a no-brainer.
As a newer bass fisherman i've been having a lot of trouble with getting the right knot to work with a braid to floro type of setup. Thank you so much for the upload, this has been the only video ive been able to find that worked for me. Super strong knot, easy to follow instructions, thanks again!
It's embarrassing but I've been tying this knot for years and never realized I had to put the tag end through the loop the same way as the original line, thanks for that! I'm sure that's why some of my Alberto knots fail when I test them.
What alot have said already, but you cover absolutely ever aspect of making this knot. Many others do not verbally describe every move. Well done. I will share this with my fishing friends.
Excellent demonstration of the knot. Very useful, thank you. I do different types of fishing. I often forget the knots!... I need to put up a chart near my bedside and get them all memorised- I've only been fishing for 32 years...
Amazing demonstration, that was one of the best knot vids I've ever seen. Great job at showing how to tie this with actually showing clearly and easy to see
I just tied my first floro to braid knot lololol i have always just fished all braid or all floro and thanks to your video i have braid line with floro leader 😁
Thanks for the tutorial. I have only ever used a double uni for my hraid to leaders but I want something better. The FG is just not going to happen but this looks like a happy medium and should go through my guides when using a braided leader for surf fishing
Thank you man, I caught a 20lb lingcod and 14 lb lingcod on the same day with this knot as my leader knot. And continue using this knot!! Caught many 8lb+ red vermillion rockfishs and 12lb Boccaccio rockfishs as well
@@FTWQ Came to thank you for another great season of rockfish here in California!! I caught many fish with this knot as my leader!! This knot is stronger and really easy to tie on a rocky boat. Or packed charter boat. I would catch my limits of huge vermilion and Boccaccio rockfish. With plenty of 15+lb lingcods.
This was a great explanation and worked the first try. I’ve had practice knots with other styles slip immediately with narrow slick braid. Though I may have done a bad job with those, this is it for me until I have a problem or see the others actually work. Thanks a bunch!
Awesome video! Best way to figure it out is to just sit down one evening and start practicing :) not the best for micro guides, but regular guides I haven't had an issue
I really like this knot. 35lb braid to 8lb mono leader. Caught a good size common carp at a river this Sat. Knot held up fine. Got hung up multiple times on rocks and or fallen trees under the water. Not one time did the line break at the knot always before it luckily. Hooked up with something big probably another carp but it felt like a tree limb until it started moving. Needless to say, I was applying a lot of force and the knot held once again. Seems like a decent knot to me.
Great video man! I’m extremely new to fishing and your videos have been super helpful. I just bought a new lews fishing rod that I want to spool it with braided line and attach a leader line. Def will be using your video.
Great video if you run your braid through the loop an extra 2 times at the end it gives you a little extra insurance that your tag end won’t slip. I’ve been using this knot for over 20 years and has never failed me. Use to be called an Albright knot.
Wow this is very good for following thank you so much for taking the time and the effort to put so much explaining into it it's very well done and I really appreciate it thank you so much. A buddy of mine Andrew send me the link here and I really appreciate it thank you Andrew.
Thank you for the video. I've been doing the FG knot for a long time. But I think I'll like this one better. It seems to make a smaller knot than the FG knot. IMO.. I just hope it can hold up as well as the FG did! Great video! Easy to follow!
I subscribed to your Chanel because I went fishing and caught decent size fish and the knot held through no problem 100% that's remarkable. Equivalent exchange I subscribed to your Chanel, thank you.
Had a fg knot on in a tourney the other day and had a wind knot so had to re tie. Just used this knot so i could get back to fshing. Works great through spinning rod guides you don't really need a FG. Kinda different though if youre running it on a casting rod with semi micro guides. Then you need FG
easy to do on the water with cold hands/wind/dark you name it....doin this knot for a long time perticulary good 4 light game thin braided lines up to 10lb. if not double uni is always in play but this 1 is way stronger and smaller. thumb up.
Thanks mate for a great video very informative and easy to follow 👍 I’ve been tying the Alberto knot for a few months now but I mistakenly thought I was supposed to loop the braid and wrap the monofilament/fluorocarbon around it 😬 No wonder I had so much trouble keeping the wraps neat and also loosing the leader on a few occasions 🙊
The next big innovation in line will be the elimination of knots between braid and fluorocarbon and use of a bonding agent and/or a small micro sleeve each line end can feed into and be sealed with heat or epoxy to bond the two lines together. People hate tying knots and a good engineer will put an end to the cumbersome knots. I am working on some innovations now to solve this problem.
Was so excited to learn this knot, I thought I executed it perfectly, fished with it most of the day,but tied a crank bait on it and came undone while casting, not sure what I did wrong
It hit the guide for too many times and get weakened over time. This is also happened with any knots that's not FG. I've lost a lure with Modified Albright Knot like this too.
This is a great alternative to the FG for a novice like me. My fg knot looked good and held up for a little while but came loose even after a few practice casts in the backyard. But this Alberto knot seems to be holding up great! Thanks for the video

Thank you!!!
Best knot for tying braid to leader hands down.
I can do this knot because of the video, but I still watch the video every time I have to tie this. Thanks so much. Love this knot.
THIS knot is incredible. Never had it bust once and have caught plenty of fish on it. From Kingfish, bonito, sharks etc. Super quick and easy.
It's a beast!!!
It busts before the mainline does for me.
Bookmarked. After struggling with FG with my reading glasses, tried this and got it first time. Much appreciated.
Thank you! Hahaha I'm glad the video could help!!!
Same here exact same struggle and then this video made life so much easier thanks it is very much appreciated
This was probably the most helpful part of my day
Only knot i run! It has never failed me
Its a great knot!!
The is is the best and easiest way to join the two lines. That's for making it so easy!

Anytime! Both knots are great, but the Alberto definitely has a edge over the Double Uni.
Best video I’ve watched about the Alberto, the others where really stressing me out but this vid was informative
Thank you, and I'm glad this video helped!
Very solid example man, was kinda struggling and this broke it down 🤙
Right on! I'm glad the video helped!
Thank you! I really needed this and first time tying braid to mono so now I can fish again!
Glad I could help!
Great video. This is probably the only knot tieing tutorial where I tied the knot on the first try.
That is so awesome to hear! Thank you for watching!
I have used the double uni knot for a long time, but I must say, I think I will be tying this from now on just for that little bit of extra strength. Thanks man!
Exactly, definitely have more confidence in this knot with that extra strength
Awesome video. Good contrast of the lines against the black background. Thanks
saved my fishing life on the lake my friend, thank you a ton.

That is exactly how I feel about the FG knot. Just too much work when you can tie something easier and basically just as effective.
I had both hands on the line and my chin on the phone rewinding to keep up😂 but I finally got it! Thank you so much!
This knot, and in particular this video, remains my go to when attaching fluorocarbon leaders to my high vis braid. Thank you!
This is a first class video. Now stored in my favorites.
