Are you also using the original charging cable? This particular skull & co product can come with a 45 w charger. Im wondering if that wont cause any issues
It's weird that their black version does not support the OLED model when Nintendo's own original black dock supports the OLED model just fine. I would like to know.
Does the little piece of plastic (that is guide for docking) scratch the plastic bottom behind Switch? I'm scared about it so i'm still using the core drive only
hi didn’t understand from the video. does this mean i could use the old jumpgate dock on the oled as well? perhaps u could show why the black dock doesn’t work with the oled? @CTA-tech desk
I bought a PRO and it doesn't work on my Oled, I followed the instructions, all of my stuff is legit/original, but doesn't work, any suggestions? any idea? I don't like using dock as it is too big and I travel a lot (work). I wanted to simplify my life a little more. thanks mate
Thank you for the review, but I feel like you missed out some key elements. You say that the dock(the plastic piece that's not the core drive) is what you use with the switch. For me it's not. I want this for travelling, and I don't want to bring the dock, only the Core Drive. So: Can I use the Switch OLED with only the Core Drive? Also, for charging I would like to avoid the official charger. When I travel I bring only one charger with me for all my devices. You don't mention if this is supported or not? Do the Core Drive support regular PD-chargers?
Thanks. Firstly, I will try and get hold of someone at skull and co to see if you can use the core drive on its own. It’s not mentioned so didn’t discuss it as in past videos I don’t want to give false hopes. Especially in sensitive topics such as 3rd party docks. And as for the cable, as mentioned you can use anything that sends power I just happen to have an official cable to hand. HTH
Thomas. Thanks for that. I accidentally removed the reply. I’m so sorry. Glad you got it confirmed. Wasnt brave enough to test 😂 but as you say, makes sense it’s just a go between.
When you say one version is for the regular Switch and one is for the OLED- is that just the color, or are there actual mechanical differences between the two?
Question for everyone who has one: I have recently purchased a Samsung TV and ever since I have had random black outs mid game for a few seconds on the switch, I know I’m not the only one who has had this but I had tried everything else that’s been recommended and nothing. This is the one thing that I haven’t tried and I’ve seen someone say that this solved their problem. Has anyone else had this issue and have the Jumpgate be the solution???
I’m new to this thinking of getting a Nintendo switch oled what is the point of the smaller one also what’s the best case to get so it doesn’t scratch please
you said that these docks work with the switch lite? If they did thats a pretty big gamechanger to me. I'd much prefer the switch lite form factor while still being able to play on tv sometimes.
Fun fact no dock will work with the switch light as the switch light does not have the chip needed to perform the tv video out with an HDMI cable so stating that these switch docks will work with the switch light is false advertising.
Been watching your vids for awhile now. I got my OLED Jumpgate a few months ago. Now it suddenly stopped connecting to the TV. It only charges my switch.... Do u know if that means my jumpgate is busted?
I'm highly skeptical of the claims of that Skull & Co video. There are no registered cases of Switches getting bricked for using the wrong charger. All the brickings are related to docks somehow. This cannot be explained by voltage quirks. It's not hard to believe that many of those third party docks do weird things with voltage. But this doesn't explain how come using a different charger does not brick the switch. I have honestly charged my switch through tons of varying quality chargers and cables and never experienced a bricking. But I'm very careful not to try video output without the official dock.
Does the jumpgate charge the switch fast enough while in TV mode? For example, if I'm playing botw in TV mode and the switch is at 50%, will the battery decrease after an hour of play or slowly increase?
Dude it shouldn't brick your switch as it gives out the same voltage as the official nintendo switch dock and the main reason 3rd party docks brick switches is because 9 times out of 10 they dont give the correct voltage needed while this one does, and yes in the grand scheme of things it's your choice whether or not you want to spend the money on it but don't condemn one item just because most others have issues with bricking switches.
It shouldn't as is gives out the same voltage that the official nintendo switch dock and plus if your really that worried about it then just use the official nintendo switch power supply with this third party dock and you should be fine.
DISCOUNT CODE in the description. For some money off, I have left a link to the product and a discount code for you. ENJOY!
I have been using this dock for over two years. So far so good 👍
Good to hear
Are you also using the original charging cable? This particular skull & co product can come with a 45 w charger. Im wondering if that wont cause any issues
@@babyrage1763 I'm using the skull and co 45w charger, it works well with no issues
Skull and co at it again with their amazing products. Good god. Love these guys.
Been waiting for this. Great video 👍🏻
I was gonna get this but was so scared of my OLED bricking and me being £310 out of pocket this video has put my mind at ease

Been waiting on your review before buying, glad i waited for a bit. Just one question, can you play the dock without charging it?
It needs power to work 👍🏻
Great video. Wonder if it will fit in my Mumba case. 🤔
This is awesome, good one
5:03 Have you tried using the Skull & Co Jumpgate Dock (OLED) with the Skull & Co 45W GaN charger?
Same question also... Good day
What the heck? This thing is brilliant. Instant buy for me. Thanks for the great video on this!
Does the little piece of plastic (that is guide for docking) scratch the plastic bottom behind Switch?
I'm scared about it so i'm still using the core drive only
Your original dock also has that. It's only to direct the Switch to place its USB female port on the USB-C of the dock.
Great video! Really enjoying your content, i also used your discount code and took off 12 bucks from my order. Thanks!
One of my favorite youtubers thanks for your videos😁👌🖐👍
Appreciate it 👍🏻
Really nifty 🤔
But I do wonder if this dock can also work with other hand held devices…
I have the original one and plugged it into my laptops thunderbolt port so i can use it as hdmi for external monitor.
Is picture quality the same as if you use the original Switch dock. I read online that the quality is slightly degraded compared to the original dock.
The same
The same if you buy the proper one for the proper model you have. Buy the white one to future proof yourself just in case you bought the OLED model.
You can safely use phone chargers with this dock? That's actually kinda nuts. Gonna have to look into getting one of these
hi didn’t understand from the video. does this mean i could use the old jumpgate dock on the oled as well? perhaps u could show why the black dock doesn’t work with the oled?
@CTA-tech desk
Just ordered one with your code, thanks!
Can you also just use the core component and connect it directly?
Nice video. I wonder if the NeoGrip’s Plus Grip works fine docked at the JumpGate without the grip touches the desk.
They do. Using the large grips it just pushes the switch forward a touch, but works fine.
Has it been justified why the previous iteration of this dock no longer works with the Switch OLED?
It outputs a weird aspect using the OLED. Don’t know why
@@hotdogzz6268 yeah, it only outputs 480p. I'm not too convinced with skull & co's explanation tbh.
@@fyeahkenji it's so weird, they should have made it work. But they lowered the price on it though.
I'll buy it definitely!

Is this model compatible with the original non oled switch?
Ilike thevedo nice charro

Does!!👌👍
Does the maxi case fit the nintendo switch power bank powercore 20100? The info would be greatly appreciated
Not working, is there a specific HDMI to use?
Tobad this dock dont support 5.1 sound. You onlye hear left and right but when conect normal dock 5.1 works
Anyone know of a dock that is compatible with the satisfy zen grip??
I have the original jumpgate dock. Why can't that one be used with the oled?
Why they didn't do black oled version

you said that these docks work with the switch lite? If they did thats a pretty big gamechanger to me. I'd much prefer the switch lite form factor while still being able to play on tv sometimes.
Only to charge. Lite won’t connect to a TV no matter what you use.
What about air flow???
Still working fine after a year of use? do you recommend it?
Is there a dock that supports to dock the switch with a case on?
Can you use the sd card slots at the same time?
Fun fact no dock will work with the switch light as the switch light does not have the chip needed to perform the tv video out with an HDMI cable so stating that these switch docks will work with the switch light is false advertising.
What type of power cord do I need to get for thus dock?
Does it increse the fps from handheld (30fps) to tv mode (60fps), like the official nintendo dock does?
No it doesn't. Even Nintendos official dock isn't capable of doing do this, it's only a TV output source
is this a new model or just a white paint version also is the latest switch update still works on the jumpgate??
Yes, it’s a new model
£40 on Amazon for a dock is a bit steep no matter how safe it is. But, thank you for the review
wait does the OLED jumpgate work with the original Nintendo Switch?
Been watching your vids for awhile now. I got my OLED Jumpgate a few months ago. Now it suddenly stopped connecting to the TV. It only charges my switch.... Do u know if that means my jumpgate is busted?
Hmm, that sounds odd. Ping Skull n Co an email just in case they can help. They are very helpful and may be able to suggest some things
Question, do you know if the original core drive is compatible with the switch oled?
Only from what I've read, no it isn't, its not compatible.
Why can you not use the original dock? Why do you have to buy the old lead white model. I have the original I just don’t want to buy another one.
Do I need to buy a Nintendo Switch charging cord and plug in order to use this to charge my Switch? Or US everything included?
You need to power it yourself.
@@CTAtechdesk Thanks for the reply. But that news is a bummer. Do I need a Nintendo branded power source?
Does this work with the g case ?

Will this work for the red box switch?
How does it fair with using phones?

So absolutely no chance of it bricking the switch?
it write pre-order, when will it release?
It’s available now, links directly to it in the description 👍🏻
So is safe? I ordered it one week ago but had some doubts about my purchase
Mine just bricked. I’m frantically trying to find out how to fix it 😢
can we use core drive directly to the switch?
Yes 👍🏻
I really wish they still shipped to Canada....
Does it works also with the steam deck?
It might, it wouldn't hurt to try and see if it does, but sadly i cannot as i do not have one.
Does the jumpgate charge the switch fast enough while in TV mode? For example, if I'm playing botw in TV mode and the switch is at 50%, will the battery decrease after an hour of play or slowly increase?
It’s the same thing
But why i still doubt the 3rd party dock still can make switch brick 😔 cz no 3rd party dock (cheap or expensive) give us guarantee "no brick".
Yeah get that completely. Do watch their video though. It’s very good
But does it work with a mouse and keyboard with out getting a game sir device?
You’ll need an adapter for k+m to work.
Wish it had an ethernet port.
Yeah that might suck but you can't expect it to have everything and not to mention if it did it would be more expensive.
Yeahhh I'm not using any 3rd party dock. Not risking it. I don't care what they say it's not worth the possibility of bricking.
Same here! I also don't use other power adapters with any of my electronics.
Yeah. Completely get that, no matter who tells you it’s safe, if you don’t want to risk it, don’t.
What's bricking?
Dude it shouldn't brick your switch as it gives out the same voltage as the official nintendo switch dock and the main reason 3rd party docks brick switches is because 9 times out of 10 they dont give the correct voltage needed while this one does, and yes in the grand scheme of things it's your choice whether or not you want to spend the money on it but don't condemn one item just because most others have issues with bricking switches.

Or for a second TV?
Or if you want to use the dock with pretty much any grip?

No it's not, it is a good thing to have if you are going anywhere and you don't want to take the bigger dock with.
The reason why most folks are looking for an alternative dock are just:
-Portability
-Better cooling
