Funnily enough my Elite Zumo trainer just seized up randomly as well. This happen to me during lockdown, and I was going to take it back, but then realised no one has stock anymore because they have been flying of the shelves. I decided to open it up myself and take a look. The problem was that clearly the tension of the belt was incorrect as it had slipped off the runner and was jammed up against the plastic housing. I completely unwound the tension screw and re-centered the belt and tensioned again. Not had a problem since. It feels better now then when it first came out the box in all honesty. Apart from that one issue, I have been very pleased with the trainer. Connects easy to my tablet and zwift. Definitely good value for money imo.
Good review! I was thinking of buying a Zumo but will leave it now until the end of the year as I'm quite happy with an Elite Novo Smart Trainer (wheel on) that I got from Halfords in March 2019. Using my British Cycling discount it only cost £180 and I really like it. I have spent a lot of time calibrating it which makes a big difference. I've tried quite a few smart trainers over the last few years. My first being a 'wheel on' Bkool. I then tried an Elite Drivo, a Cyclops Hammer, one of the first Tacx Flux and finally a Wahoo Kickr which I kept. I had the Kickr for 8 months but decided to sell it even though it was the best. The latest ones are supposed to be even better but I haven't got a spare £1k I want to spend on a trainer. An Elite Zumo next for me and might even get one sooner if the UK government ban outdoor exercise due to Covid-19 :-(
2wheelsonline love you hear your experience is good with the wheel on trainer, I did look at many but I thought il go direct drive incase I regret it. I think you will love it if you try it deffo worth it
I just got one from Halfords as they came back into stock. Paid a princely £529 for it, but with this never ending covid situation I think it will be worth it.
Hey Andrew I paid the same I didn’t even have BC discount but totally worth it. I know this sounds weird but the money you save on coffee and cake is actually over a year close to the cost
So how do you still find this trainer? Still worth it? I am thinking of getting one, main concern is noise level, is it just as loud as wahoo trainers? How loud is it actually? Like a hoover noise level? Fan? Washing machine?
Hey mate! Yeah still using it all the time at the minute! It all depends on the flooring it’s on if I’m brutally honest gimmie a few days and il make a video of how it sounds… and some tips to get it much quieter
So I've just bought one today. When I put my bike on (and I've tried other bikes as well) it's so hard to pedal and even when I change gear. Wondering if you would have any idea
Have you tried to run the spindown calibration test in the myETraining app? Also check out this thread over at the Zwift forums for more useful tips on how to fix the resistance issues with this trainer: forums.zwift.com/t/issues-with-elite-zumo/142588
I bought the same unit myself, finding it very capable and the feedback and useability of it is fantastic for the price.
I think it’s amazing value for money
Not many reviews of this Turbo, thank you so much. Definatly the one I'm going to get in winter. Quiet and affordable.
Really good bit of kit

I think Shane Miller's Lama Lab test says it all about this trainer.
Mate I just watched this! Incredible
Hi Robbie thanks for the review. Do you know if you can use a Campag derailleur and chain on a Shimano cassette on the Zumo without any problems?
Honestly I have no clue mate I’ve never owned anything campag
Thanks for the comment though :)
No worries thanks for getting back anyway man. Cheers 👍
