i never heard of this gimbal and i will look into it now! i have a canon c70 and although a lot of gimbals say they can carry the pay load of that i just want something that i can use without having to break down my cam first. i want to be able to just slap it on and go as opposed to take off everything. I might have to look into this!
First! Great seeing you back on youtube! :D Awesome job on the review. Loved the B-Roll and quick insert shots. After using the ronin for almost 3 years now I can definitely appreciate a gimbal without a stand haha
Yep. I personally never tried but I've seen photos of people using their RED with this gimbal and it definitely balances a lot easier because of its form factor.. In terms of recommendation, I would also explore the new DJI solutions as well... this is a great gimbal if you want a sturdy and dual handle feel but it can also get heavy on your arms overtime.
i was sad when i saw the price too, especially with the existence of gimbals like the ronin s2.... but i suppose it's being compared to the gimbals that are being used on big budget movie sets maybe.
In pro filmmaking world. To be fair, the Ronin 2 (not Ronin S2) and MOVI each cost upwards of $7000. The RS2 and RS3 Pro come in under $1000, but both only have a rated payload of 10lbs, while this Letus Helix Jr. is rated at 10-15lbs. So for heavy setups, this may well be one of the best and lower-priced options.
@@JOMprodBeta Yeah, I think it's largely about the payload it can handle. The RS2 and even RS3 Pro are rated at 10lbs max, while depending on who you listen to, this gimbal can do up to 15lbs. Cinema cams and their lenses get heavy.
Trying to decide between the C100m2 or the XF405 4K camcorder for run & gun nature/travel videos that I shoot mostly handheld. The xf405 will produce 10 bit 422 to an external recorder. Hard decision. Would very much like to know your opinion on this. Thanks!
hmm. i wouldn't recommend camcorders based on the lack of flexibility.. if not the c100 mark 2.. you should look into the mirrorless series offered by canon or sony
i still use it with the c100 mkii. it also works well with other heavy cinema setups like RED or BlackMagic. though.. the market is releasing way smaller cameras with awesome quality that will work with the moza air 2. more to consider now in terms of your setup
@@terryvideo Agreed. My wallet doesn't agree with my desires on getting a new camera unfortunately lol. I may go the BM 4k or EOS R next year. This just seems like a better setup. Moza and other gimbals doesn't give the same flexibility for angles.
Absolute pile of junk. I've owned two, unfortunately. Last one is currently sitting in PDX as Letus couldn't even be bothered opening their office so i just told the courier to put it in the trash where it belongs. AVOID this product. Just take the advice and you'll be happy. Honestly they should call them HELLix as my experience has been HELL !!!!

yeaa one of the reasons why i got this gimbal.. just easier to get on and off. Workflow speed matters when you're a one person team

Thanks man! hahaha #facts
Do you still own this gimbal and would you recommend for Komodo dragon

wait!! what!!! budget????? this is 1k some brooooooo
For a heavy setup though. This thing does 12 lbs. If you look at other gimbals with this payload they will run you for more than $1K.

HESSS BACKKKK ! I WANT THIS GIMBAL !
hahaha. i'm back. it's nice :)
Do you still use this gimbal for the C100 II or is there something newer better you prefer?
Loving the quality of the video bro. Great review also 🤘🏾
Thanks bro
Great information! Are your still using it? Also IOS this compatible with the Glidecam systems?
Yes!
@@terryvideo awesome! yes for still using it or yes for the Glidecam compatibility?
@@BuildABergGroup yes for both 👌
Thank you for doing this video. Great feedback.

@@dudepersonvids we forgetting the existence of the zhiyun crane that can hold a lot more
@@dudepersonvids yes but not the perspective I am talking about
Thanks for the video. What are you using for your rail monitor mount? The Letus rail monitor mount is really pricey.
Thanks James. I took my old follow focus rail and drilled a hole in the center.. basically customized it to work, it still need some adjustments

what Camera Backpack you use for c100 mk2 and this Gimbal?
I currently use a backpack that can fit a phantom 3.. recommend drone backpacks - will make a video on this in the future.
Sorry, way too expensive for what it is! Good review though.🙂
Great video, will it work with the urs Mini Pro g2?
Yes but you will have to get a power cable
без боковой ручки камерой пользоваться неудобно
Can the shotgun be installed?
I haven't tried with a shotgun.. but i've seen ppl do it. i have placed a zoom h1 on top and it works
Legit
