Runrig is the best Scottish band ever. N reminds me of my dad also passed on like Bruce i can remember my dad bouncing me on his knee as a wee girl so when i Heard runrig years later the tears were rolling down my face so many memories of my dad ❤x gbnf just like Bruce who was a legend ❤x
My dad is german and he's kinda obsessed with irish/scottish folk music. He's still playing in a band called "Fonsheen" and I grew up listening to said music. Runrig has a special place in my heart.
Is he on You Tube I'll look him up...my Dad Ronald Stewart is on You Tube...just for us the family...non monetised. Sad songs...mbeen through so much in life. He played With my Cousin John only 39..but we lost him in December 2020 just after the 2nd ld. He just could not cope with it all anymore...he was the most Sensitive Soul & a Very Gifted Musician. Lovely Voice he had too. A Son of Scotland & England. He went Hame...where Magical, Mystical Music is always playing. 🏴💙🦢💙🏴
Going to Inverness to Runrigs 40th solo was one of the most enjoyable solo experiences of my 66 years.🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴☮️🇺🇲😁😎😂🇨🇦🇧🇪
I'm soo jealous you did, nice one! (jealous of you being a fan between donnie and bruce, never sadly got to see runrig with donnie, would have been great!) But really to really reflect I have complete respect for the two of them, great lads! When he'd released one of his albums listened to one of Don's great songs Irene and had me in tears, great lad, I mean anyone that can do that to me I've got the utmost respect for!
Tide Lines are a great band though and Robert Robertson's a great singer I have to say that as he genuinely is! Though do enjoy Norrie MacIver though he's a great lad who took over from him with Skipinnish nice likeable lad, bless him!
I have been following Runrig since I saw them in Broadford in the seventies. The Year of the flood was my daughters first ever concert - we danced in the mud! and we came together in Stirling for the Final Dance.. I remember and I treasure all of it. INcluding the others like Duncan Chisholm, Julie Fowlis ("Fifty thousand people!"). a loyal fan.. (62)
I lost willpower to live in unemployment repeatedly eight years ago and suffered from severe depression. I assisted father who suffered from severe Alzheimer's dementia in those days, and I had to watch trouble of mother fighting against illness for breast cancer afterwards. It was sad cruelly very strictly. I came to think about only dying gradually. I knew totally nameless Runrig in Japan in You tube once. I was able to get willpower to live steadily by hearing the splendid music that I did including Loch Lomond of Runrig. Runrig is my savior. I will love Celts music and traditional culture in Scotland very much afterwards triggered by Runrig. I will go to beloved longed-for Scotland in the near future and thought about watching live broadcasting of Runrig, but I know that there was a dissolution concert in August in 2018 and I am sorry at all and am sad. I think that the re-organization of Runrig is difficult, but a wish will want you to reach it in future in McDonald's Brothers, Malcolm Jones Iain Bayne, Bruce Guthro, Donnie Munro if I can do it. Than a Japanese loving Scotland.
keep on listening to the good music full of love and hope, and pray in the hardest time for Hope! Don't give up! and if possible, trying to find community/service agency or raise money if necessary!
yes, good for you! That's part of the True strength, which I was lack of but trying to develop~ another great uplifting song from Runrig: Hearts of Oden Glory~
"The night the flood came pouring down; you won our hearts, you stayed around" i didn't, to my eternal shame. I went home because I was suffering from hypothermia.
I don't actually remember being introduced to Runrig and their beautiful melodies, they've just always been part of my life! I was only 10 when I attended Donnie's farewell and I've seen them several times with Bruce. Two very different vocalist with their own unique signature. I'll forever love Runrig!
Stunning!!! Just got this concert on blu ray and it's truly fantastic!! Love it so much!! I never thought I could listen to anyone other than Donnie on lead vocals but Bruce has a magical voice too!! Rory also is amazing and Malcolm makes that guitar sing! The music is truly inspirational!
+LaserTools OnlineRacingTeam flying up from Austria to stay in that "flood" for a day. Best day of my life, will never forget ;) Too bad i missed this one, but even the DVD gives you goosebumps
I've been a fan of Runrig since 'Play Gaelic' and 'The Highland Connection first came out. At least two songs will be played at my funeral. My ancestry is Barraigh, though, very sadly I've never managed to make it there. Còmhnaidh na mo chridhe, Runrig
The night the flood came pouring down I was stood with my three kids in that field my youngest Callum on my shoulders as we left my three sang book of golden stories as we walk up the side of the road moments like that never leave you
will never ever tire of hearing this song. my favourite Runrig song. Had the pleasure of seeing the boys at their farewell concert in Stirling last year. Thanks for the memories.
This song with the visuals puts chills down my spine, since I fear that there will never be a band quite as amazing as runrig - a band that was the musical score to my childhood!
Descansa en paz Bruce .tu música y voz siempre quedarán en mi corazón por ser una de las mejoras formaciones musicales que he conocido ...gracias por vuestra música
Wow, I never knew the extra bit for the farewell tour had different lyrics at different gigs. This one was magical. I'm going to have to watch every video from the whole tour now.
+lynsay18 "The Story" is indeed the last studio album, but they will still tour, so there will be live recordings and most likely All Access CDs. Best band ever.

I dedicate this not only to my mum, but the greatest teacher I had at high school. She may have given me the cruelest nickname on day one, but I gave her a result. I have always been a better person because of Mrs. Mary Scott, so thank you.

I am Japanese but there was a wonderful band in Scotland that sings songs that feel such a melancholy. It is very disappointing to notice this time. I'd like to continue working with Runrig for a long time: D

Have the same opinion... If there's one band, which is transmitting Scotland and its feelings, it's RUNRIG!
Cheers from Germany to all Riggies!

This song makes me cry on so many different levels, but even more now that they have told us The Story will be the last CD.
