Who else is watching this again, after the sad death of Bruce Guthro, who recently died aged only 62yrs old? It has been such a shock to us all, may he sing with the angels.
I only recently found out about Bruce's passing and was very saddened by this as he helped keep Runrig alive after Donnie left. Many wonderful years listening to them, their music really reached a part of my soul as an Australian with Scottish roots, I can't explain it but it feels like they helped fill in a gap in myself that is perhaps my Scottish heritage. RIP Bruce and thank you Runrig for all the years ❣
We have a tradition in the car each summer when we visit the Highlands. Stick Runrig on when we’ve nearly made it to the holiday cottage! Blast out our favourite tracks as we drive through Glencoe.
I was at the last London show, and many tears were shed. These guys had been such a huge part of my life for over 40 years. Runrig is gone, but the music and memories remain forever
I am so happy to have 'discovered' RUNRIG on the internet 5 years ago. . .I now own ALL their releases. From this Iowa girl, from across the pond in America : Long live RUNRIG forever through their gift of music!
am I the only one that wants runrig back?! They are my favourite band and its my childhood I want them back. the first time I was at a concert was when I was 4 and it was my idea and last time i heard them was 2017 live aalborg. and this vid made tears in my eyes Thansks for the memory
hørte dem for første gang som 3 årig og min sidste koncert, var deres sidste i danmark. de er kæmpe legender, og super undervurderede ville også ønske de var her, men de har satme også fortjent deres "pension"
They are elderly gentleman now .Apart from Brian and Bruce, who is still performing. I did see an interview where Calum was saying they would Consider coming back, for 20minutes! For the Right festival or Benefit! Shut up Callum! It would take longer to set up the equipment Stop being Divas Iam actually glad they stopped when they did. I don't really want to see geriatrics such as the Stones and Fleetwood Mac dragging their tired old carcasses out time and again to milk the cash cow one more time. Life moves on. We will always have the music.. And in the meantime we have necowmers to enjoy.
I just discovered them a little to late as I’m writing this and browsing the internet. I now they retired in 2018 and lead singer passed away but I love their music. I will have to purchase there music from now on. I’m American and have always loved the Scottish people but someday in my older age I will visit your country and never leave !
I was at their last gig, right at the very front. I cried after the gig. And I wasn't alone. It's a miracle Stirling didn't flood. I remember Iain Bayne when he was a 16 year old working at the record shop in St Andrews on a Saturday when I was a student there. I bought a lot of records off him.
I miss them sooo much.. my mate n me go to Harris walking..every year and driving up the M5 at 3:30 am to Uig to get the ferry..with" Road Trip" on full blast was the start of a great week looking to our seeing our friends katy and Neil Mackinnion at Grosebay..
How can a band with such poetic songs and huge following , just stop. Clearly they still enjoy it. Today's music is bland and undistinguishable from each other. Come back RUNRIG and show the world how it should be done. You're missed.
Scotland's got the lot , great friendly and industrious people, beautiful country ,incredible mineral wealth, bountiful seas and lochs , scenery to die for, wonderful Whiskey ,all it needs is Freedom.
I'm an American, and I live in Ohio. In December of 1996, my sister returned from a semester of study in Aberdeen. With her, she brought back the Runrig CDs: Mara, Amazing Things and The Big Wheel. I've been a fan of Runrig's music ever since. I saw them in concert in June 1999 at the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on the 'In Search of Angels' tour, and again at the concert in New York City, two of the best concerts I have ever been to. In this video, Bruce said, "Runrig will cease to exist.". I disagree, I say Runrig will live forever.
Amazing! They have a documentary coming out in October so keep you should look out for that aswell. I wish there was more footage of the New York show, would love to have seen that!
I agree with you, runrig has original fans, and new fans , I saw them in Manchester, never stopped listening to them, so emotional with songs that don't date and has meaning for so many. Once you hear runrig your transported , once a fan always a fan .
@@andymac2935 agreed donny left on great trems we saw that when he dueted with Bruce Pete left and Brian took the keys to keep the greatest band in the world and the music of Scotland alive and for that we are blessed
@@alastairclunie7232 Well said. My partner would not countenance Donnie: he was a bit marmite. But it all changed when Bruce appeared. If they had Bruce earlier, who knows? If the Donnie devotees still want him he is Still performing.
@@hogwashmcturnip8930 Donnie was Great, Bruce was great. My mum loved them both, my dad preferred Donnie. Me ? I loved the rawness of the Donnie years, but I also loved the polished performances of the Bruce years. It was a thing that grew, culminating with the incredible night in Stirling. I was there in 1991 in Wolverhampton Civic Hall, I was there in Stirling 1997, and again in 2018. Thanks to every member of the greatest band in the world over almost 30 years for me.

Runrig and Bruce solo, gave me so many good concerts, in Denmark. I am still listening to the music 🎶
Rory and Calum don't just write songs, it's also poetry! The lyrics over the years are nothing short of beautiful!
