Hi from Australia. Runrig is a truly phenomenal band and social phenomenon. Its longevity is both amazing and justified. Donny and Bruce brought beautiful soaring voices to some of the most eloquent songwriting. The songs are just wonderful. I watched a video of them performing in Frankfurt and the Germans knew the words to Loch Lomond !! I would have loved to have seen them live. What a throughly fantastic and memorable band.
I never saw them either but a long long time ago I was walking around the very quiet streets of Lochmaddy in N. Uist when I turned a corner to see the two MacDonald brothers walking towards me. I smiled and one of them said hello as they passed by :-)
Was there with my daughter in Copenhagen for their final concert on the continent. Loved it, but also my daughter did, she was brought up with it! This is the old time favourite of all bands. Shame they stopped, but fully understandable, after 45 years!!!

I think it‘s quite possible that Blair Douglas (who had left the band „ages“ ago, and MP Pete Wishart, either had other obligations, or did not want to appear and keep the event to the band as it stood the last 17 years.
Our Highland (and Irish) Dancing studio here in South Africa is in it's 95th year (4 generations) and your voice and Runrig are heard each lesson during warmup. Wish I could have been at The Last Dance. RIP Bruce Cha bhithidh a leithid ami riamh.
The word legend gets thrown about loosley not here though yer man bruce is that and some the passion in his voice put a lump in your throat just spectacular

Seen the guys at the old ferry boat inn,Kyle before the bridge was built. Going back years.small pub,about 15 people.fantasic is an understatement
