Splashdown on explo is fun, but if we want to make the fun argument all I ask is the devs give the weapon some synergy. Splashdowns 60 hit + explo shot does 95, why not buff either hit to actually combo together, why give it wall that doesn't help the special. Wall on firefin can block while you throw strikes. I just want kits with decent synergy, some of these kits can even remain the same if balanced around it at all.

@unl3ash3d95 idid try it out for a little bit and splash wall is pretty nice, but sadly when you press triple splashdown to defend yourself, the opponent simply turns their camera up at you. it is a fun weapon in zones.
The worst part about Dread Wringer is 99% of the time you can tell what the sub is of a weapon from looking at ink tanks on trailers but this had to be the one that they were miraculously using sub saver to disguise it and hurt our hearts.
It's probably very intentional at this point given that unlike both Sizzle and Drizzle, they have now started intentionally hiding subs and specials from the promo-videos for the new weapons (as well as for example in Chill season just…not having a promo video until the surprise triple splashdown reveal). With octobrush nouveau this also happened as well but I definitely get the feeling they don’t want all this speculation.

Another Gus banger let's goooo. Honestly explo is a horrendous kit, but I think it's a bit underrated in terms of how aggressively it can play in a casual environment. I find the wall more useful in defending against mid/frontlines by fighting around it, then using splashdown in those fights (yeah I know the main weapon is wayyy too slow to do this reliably in any lobby above 2000x power but plz give me this one)
as an explo main who frontlined the vanilla kit, having wall and splashdown perfectly compliments my playstyle and how i can play the weapon in a unique way where frontlining it unironically works
I remember Sheldon saying Dread Wringer 2 is a limited edition weapon. ...wonder how many the company who made it is gonna get back. All jokes aside, in my honest opinion, I kinda think the specials on these two would be better the other way around. The range on the Explosher would better suit having something to locate enemies, while the Dread Wringer having a Beakon with Trislam would be fun. Enemy thinks they can get rid of the Beakon? Yeah, no, slam.
Imagine if they at least swapped the specials around on these. Explo with wall and wave, dread with beacon and splashdown. They'd not only be better, but have at least some kit synergy.
It was dark times as a Hydra main in splatoon 2... had to wait so long for Cdra and it was so painful having to use a Splashdown backline to play my main. Nowadays I am just so grateful to have the Vanilla kit we do in 3.

Custom Explosher is clearly meant to make up for the weapon's main weakness, which is at close range. The splash wall is not meant to be used in the same way as ZF charger; it's meant to be used to get nearer to the frontline and take ground. It gives you something to protect yourself when someone gets too close for comfort. And if you are thinking of what SPECIAL would help a weapon at close range, choosing Triple Splashdown makes sense. Also, since backline weapons are usually in a position where jumping is safe, they're uniquely able to take advantage of Triple Splashdown's ability to activate while jumping to teammates in the frontline. I love explosher and this kit, and it tends to work quite well for me.
I feel like c-explo is on of the best kit's this season, next to 52.deco C-eliter since it's more of a backline weapon wall and splashdown complement it well. It definitely needs buffs, but QR, swim speed, LDE and special charge up to make it "better", this weapon isn't my pick for Comp or Xrank, the vanilla kit is way better
While I'm still more salty about Reef Lux Deco due to it being a missed opportunity for inkjet, or a potential triple splashdown weapon in that season, leaving either Enperry or CBlaster with the ability to get Inkjet, or Reef lux getting tacticooler- and I could go on for 12 more minutes but the tangent police intervened- these new sloshers hurt in a different way as Beakon wave is literally my dream kit for Explo as it would finally expand its playstyle and actually be a backline with beakon after Ballpoint got defiled with its second kit, while the weapon that did get that kit is the one slosher that doesn't easily combo with wave, and is the one slosher main weapon that I really don't like playing much at all (despite 4-starring the original dread the season it came out)
from my expirience, there was a explo that deliberately went up to me to use triple splash to kill me and jump back to their base when there was nothing to do. and dread-d was made to troll us but its alright cuz its semi ok
ok so the problem with wavebreaker is that it breaks easily. if we want to make it not suck, there should be some sort of punishment for attacking the wavebreaker. maybe once it gets below 25%/50%/75% Hp it releases a smaller, but faster wave as well. that way it not only punishes users for attacking the special, but it can also be more punishing to weapons that have object shredder, releasing multiple miniwaves at the same time, doubling or tripling the damage
When I saw the kit for CExplo... I was sad. I played it the other day. It felt so bad not being able to do anything while i had my special charged but no ink. The vanilla kit is just so much better it's not even a competition.
I know it was a disappointment for most people, but Dread D is the most fun I've had with a slosher so far! The kit makes so much sense after playing it for a few days. And it is as you say, slosher with beakon on certain maps is a godsend and helps a lot. Also Dread paint output feels more meaningful when you have something else than Reefslider as a special.

Splash Wall isn't awful for Explosher like if Custom had Splash Wall and Crab Tank I think it'd be pretty good I think the whole "Triple Splashdown is a panic button" was the exact mentality the devs had tbh like "If a long range special is good on a short range weapon then sure the inverse must be good too!" but unfortunately it's not
Explo is such a healthy back line for the game since it can be so mobile compared to other weapons, but Nintendo truly does not want the weapon to succeed. It’s only gotten one sorta decent kit that then got nerfed into oblivion (s2 custom explo)
The Splashdown is an excellent match, but the wall sub not so much. The biggest difference between the explosher and other ranged weapons like Chargers and splatlings is that you can shoot over objects, which allows you to use the environment as cover. Splat bomb (self defence) burst (ink your area), or Auto-bomb would have been better. Best complimentary sub for explosher would be burst. The kit is not horrible but would have worked much better with machine
I can’t believe the lack of weapons with crab tank this late in the game. And I’ll bet when the rest of the secondary kits come out next season, none of them will have crab tank again.
I think the thing that bothers me about wave breaker on dread is just how poorly it combos. 1 wave hit and 1 dread hit does 93 or 88 damage depending on if it was the first or second hit. It's just barely enough to not kill, and combined with how easy it is to break or just jump over wave breaker, I feel like its combos just don't work like they should. I think it's special either needed to be something that does ~60 damage so one hit could connect for a kill, or been harder to avoid to make its 90 damage hit more threatening.
The regular explo isn't great. Point sensor just let's you know when you are about to die. At least the knew explo has some defense and a special that can kill
This is a wild take. Explo is the best weapon in the game for point sensor. It literally allows you to track people behind cover with your AOE, wall-ignoring backline. And ink storm is just a better special than splashdown, especially for a backline that paints and has strong combo damage. If anything, explo will at least survive because the vanilla kit is fine. This new kit is much, much worse.
The vanilla explosher allows me to play a backline weapon like a backline weapon. I actually knew how to support my team thanks to the kit. With the custom explosher, the wall consumes way too much ink, leaving you with only 2-3 shots after if you had a full tank. And imo splashdown is awkward for explosher because you're basically a sitting duck until someone tries to flank you and you use it as a panic button. It's just lacking the support capabilities that the regular one has/was meant to have.

Dread D’s kit also sucks and is dreadful. It desperately needs a sub to help combo onto its slow kill time and help with its movement. Beakon is not it. Wave breaker is fine synergy-wise, but wave breaker is one of the most underwhelming specials which does not help with the weapon receiving beakon.
I don't like the sentiment that kits feel "random" in this game. Almost feels like people are saying it in similar faith to "this was made by AI" to encompass things they don't like. If the kits were randomly-generated there wouldn't be these weird theoretical benefits like Splashdown defending the Explosher if someone gets close to it or flanks it, kit's probably meant to be like a weird KGal kind of deal. Idea didn't work but it's there.

missles sound broken on explo, they would never. this is like giving it burst bomb (which would also never happen) beacon is fine, itd end up like liter which uses it finish, but backlines are living beacons anyway. explo is uaed to fighting without a sub so it woundt do it any harm i think.

It's a one trick and that niche is done waaay better on a lot other weapons. Also, beacon has other benefits. Of u run sub pwr up ur team jumps in faster, idk if it stacks with their own super jump stats. If I had to pick a back up then, kraken. Explo could be the ultimate anchor but Nintendo refuses to give non shooters good kits. (Or make good kits in general at this point) I'm still praying that explo gets some more shot velocity and rework the slosh too. I don't understand why the explosion isn't built into the shot, it makes the weapon really wonky for no reason. Too often I slosh a ppl and they swim right thru because the paint part is always behind them. But then painting ahead of them doesn't do very much either. This gun, and many others are cucked simply from wacky design overall. They could easily put double tap on inkbrush, make run speed boost rolling speed, dapples is begging for more rolls/range, etc. Its honestly infuriating.

Explo can spam missles way better than goo ever could because of its ridiculous paint .wiper missles removes the need for brush missles completely as nobody uses missle brush in comp anymore.

Ive wanted a weapon with Beacon/Breaker since launch and i LOVE Dread D so much. I adore it for QR builds and I'm 4 stars in as well

@yuujinner5801 broken? Idk man if splatana can get it I don't see why explo can't. The issue I have with explo is that you can really do anything besides paint.
It's a one trick and that niche is done waaay better on a lot other weapons.
Also, beacon has other benefits. Of u run sub pwr up ur team jumps in faster, idk if it stacks with their own super jump stats.
If I had to pick a back up then, kraken.
Explo could be the ultimate anchor but Nintendo refuses to give non shooters good kits. (Or make good kits in general at this point)
I'm still praying that explo gets some more shot velocity and rework the slosh too. I don't understand why the explosion isn't built into the shot, it makes the weapon really wonky for no reason.
Too often I slosh a ppl and they swim right thru because the paint part is always behind them. But then painting ahead of them doesn't do very much either.
This gun, and many others are cucked simply from wacky design overall. They could easily put double tap on inkbrush, make run speed boost rolling speed, dapples is begging for more rolls/range, etc.
Its honestly infuriating.
@@KNGDDDE i mean goo was literally picked at the start of the meta just because it was a backline missles . flingza is used more dominantly now because it can actually fight. missles explo dwarfs goo in every way except the theoretical sub. missles wiper is broken but theyre not competing with the same niche. Explo can spam missles way better than goo ever could because of its ridiculous paint .wiper missles removes the need for brush missles completely as nobody uses missle brush in comp anymore.
