Dude I play a few months out of the year everytime I come back I'm like wtf do I do lol I just start off with research and kill world bosses and stuff lol
Amazing! I wish people weren’t so reliant on damage and TTK. Some diversity in class builds would be such a lovely integration. I’d love it if people didn’t groan at full debuff builds
Appreciated this so much. Necro class is so fun to play and if not for this class I would have left ESO years ago. 2 Necro Tank builds, 2 Necro DPS builds and counting. Its has its challenges versus other classes but thats what I love the most about this class.
When the class came out I was like ooooh cool time to raise the dead guys...then when I started to play I was ok ok what, who, why, idk. Thanks for the guide though very helpful.
Correction. Pets do not activate ec. Skeletal arcanist and blastbones do not work. Ec cro can easily apply all 3 in aeo with minimum changes to rotation and damage loss is why they are most desired
loved this thanks my necro set rework, random flat stats for the 2-4 piece , at 5 piece , when you take dmg or use a skill, summon 3 zombies that stay till the end of combat, these zombies attack for x dmg every 2 sec and applies snare on enemies reducing moment speed by 70% ( dmg based on highest max stat) when these zombies are killed they leave corpuses on the ground and are resummoned every 20 ses.
Forgive me guys, going to rant here. I have mained Necro since Elsweyr. I have 2k hours on mine. The class has some serious pit falls that can be built out of, but at what cost compared to other more accessible classes like Arc or DK, NB, and so forth? Heals are expensive and buff management bogs down rotations. I have mained necro for years and will get hate for this, but oakensoul has saved me from giving up on this class altogether. The only real advantage Necro has right now is easy burst setup and dot pressure. But it's slim compared to the most basic DK build. I believe Necro is actually better at burst. But only just. It lacks all the things that make DK a clear pick as a daily. Necro eats up ability slots with gimmicky corpse heals and damage tethers when they should be combined into a single tether that heals and does damage. Full stop. Half of the corpse consumption skills should be collapsed into single skills or reworked altogether. They simply do not have the power that is required of managing corpses in a duel or high level arena. When a single resolve vigor will outheal the tether. I feel like Necro should be reworked to lean more towards pets for pressure rather than a debuffer, or aoe specialist. They should be overwelming to fight with mobs to make up for thier lack of mobility. The same way DKs are overwelming with dots and single target pressure. Ive said this before and I'll say it again. Blastbones should be reworked to be a bone flayer. When raised it is a fighter type undead that runs at a target and pummels them, snaring them by 30% for the duration. The longer it is alive the more damage it's explosion deals when it expires. Or it can be casted again to detonate early. But if killed early it doesnt explode so it's in the best interest of whoever its attacking to target it instead of the caster. I also believe that the flesh atronoch should be removed entirely and instead allow the necromancer to raise any corpse as a bone flayer up to 3 times at the cost of 30-50 ultimate a corpse much like overload for the sorcerer to solidify the necromancer's summoner identity give the feeling that you're actually a powerful mage capable of summoning an army. and create even more corpses to use in battle. Just simple stuff that make the class useful and fun... it isnt hard.
Even from someone who actually doesn’t mind Blastbones that much, having a bone flayer would be really cool. It’s really stupid to me that Sorcerers can summon three (PERMANENT) pets that have a solid mix of melee, range, and crowd control, while the Necromancer gets pets that are a janky kamikaze and a glorified DK Inferno. If any class in the game should be the de facto “summoner” class, it should be the Necromancer, not the Sorcerer.
@MeanAndPristine I couldn't agree with you more. I'm in love with style of necromancer. It's abilities look incredible, the execution in gameplay and power fantasy just falls short. It just feels like a warden with extra steps. No actual class identity that sets it apart from other classes. DK is the DoT melee attrition specialist. NB is the covert assassin that can move freely and setup devastating combos, sorc is a movement specialist and a master of positioning. Warden is an aoe buff specialist. Templar is a volley of unblockable stuns and enough melee damage to make the strongest tanks brake. Arcanist is arguably the most creative class yet. It is an AoE delete button at times. But I will call arcanist the king of group support. They do it all. But necro has so many gimmicks and wasted abilities that have nearly zero utility other than ulti generation. Even it's unique access to major vulnerability is outsourced to monster sets. The group res ulti is too monumentally expensive to be taken advantage of. Bone Goliath is an exception but even it's uniqueness was given to vampires on every class. Where is it's identity? Because summoning a single skeleton with a bow isn't what I had in mind when I think if elder scrolls necromancy where the soul cairn exists.
I hate the tethers and always will. The number of times the siphon beam just didn't touch the target standing right on top of it is inexcusable. Don't get me started on how it drops off in usefulness the moment there's movement.
My Necro doesn't use tethers and also no blastbones... The class is unfortunately a buggy mess.. Hopefully some day ZOS will do an overhaul of the class and make something that works.
I deleted my level 50 necro. I haven't played it for 3 years and still the devs ignore the multiple issues with this abomination. The only way I would play this class now is in werewolf form and stay in ww form as long as possible to avoid using necro abilities. Or as a vampire. Just use weapon abilities and skill lines like the mages/fighters/undaunted, etc. But i would rather play a nightblade or a dk.
I’m sorry but what kind of necromancer that doesn’t allow you to summon a permanent minion? This is the first necromancer, that I know so far, has no permanent summon. It actually kinda disappointing. I always thought that necromancer are meant to be a summoner class. Otherwise, great vid and thank you.
Necro is my least favorite class but not really because I dislike it especially, I do find them engaging in the right circumstances. I really love playing my necro tank in nornal dailies as its hilarious to see the team dish out ult after ult as I dish out colossus after colossus with Arkasis Genius and Drake's Rush and using necrotic potency, the ult generation is bonkers. Outside of that though I may have to experiment some more but I just don't get the strongest vibe out of it as I do with DKs and Wardens. Also yes I see many people mention EC for necro and I'm over here using it on my magden to great effect with backbar lightning wall of element, mage's guild scalding rune and then my typical frost skills thrown in. It's been working out for a lot of trial content with my guild.
Great vid!! I play on ps5, and I tried the Nobility of Decay set on two separate necro's and Detonating Siphon will not work on myself. Deaden Pain treats me as an corps as well as Renewing Undeath, but unfortunately, Detonating Siphon nor Braided Tether will work. And yes, I made sure Beautiful Corps is active. Do anyone know if this is a bug or was it nerfed? Thanks in advance if someone know.
Im not one for raising skeletons and dead stuff (gross), but some of those skills look fun, like the ruinous scythe as a spammable (I wish templar's jabs/sweeps looked as cool). I might try one eventually, maybe
Can this set just be backbard? I've looked to see if the effect would carry over to your front bar through a bar swap like wretched vitality, moonhunter, and some other sets
And yet it is the worst class for PvP: no good spammable (skulls are worse than weapon abilities), no important buffs (no major brutality, no major sorcery - these are just the basics, no major mending, no major expedition, no minor ones either). No important debuffs (no major or minor breach. Defile is nice and all but not enough). No reliable CC (2 second delay for a fixed-area CC is and easily dodgeable eternity in PvP. Not even dodgeable, you can just walk out of it casually). Very short buff duration for most of the abilities, turning you into a buff machine instead of actually dealing damage. All of this leaves you with but a few options in PvP relying on either proc sets or non-necro abilities just to be viable and mediocre and get your face torn by a dk or nb anyway. Finally, the class has no soul. No pet necro build? In an elder scrolls game? Seriously? The class has no identity and feels like a second-hand sorc (if magicka) or warden (if stamina) while losing to both anyway. It's just so much subpar. In PvE tho anything works because it is so easy in ESO. So sad that such a cool class is ignored by the devs, like PvP in general.
I’m a necro main and always will be, but all of the issues you listed have been a problem since the class comes out and they just keep needing it. You’re right too, it has no identity and is just a worse version of other classes
Your video could be shorter by not explaining things that do not need explaining. We just want to know the best way to build a necro while leveling. For example, we don't care how the spell works. We can read. Most of us are just trying to get ideals on how to build it.
LoL I've come back to the Game after a couple of years and I feel like I basically know absolutely nothing.
Dude I play a few months out of the year everytime I come back I'm like wtf do I do lol I just start off with research and kill world bosses and stuff lol
I played every day during the pandemic, and coming back now after 3-4 years. Idk what’s good and what’s bad lol
Returned after After 4 years and im totally overwhelmed. Lol
Honestly same logged in after all this time and need to watch a million videos
I'm like that today lol
Amazing! I wish people weren’t so reliant on damage and TTK. Some diversity in class builds would be such a lovely integration. I’d love it if people didn’t groan at full debuff builds
Ur explaining so well. Thanks man i really appreciate it

i just like necromancy because its silly
This was incredibly helpful, thank you a lot! I just started the game and i am loving this class
Been waiting for this, thank you
Just coming into the game this is a perfect guide for a new person!!! you got a sub and like for this WELL DONE!
When the class came out I was like ooooh cool time to raise the dead guys...then when I started to play I was ok ok what, who, why, idk. Thanks for the guide though very helpful.
Thank you for necromancer guide
Been waiting on this one!!!!! Yessss
Very useful and informative video, thx!!!

Thanks for the video Xynode!
Anybody know if that necro class set can be backbared and the deaths favour stays active on the front bar?

Lol the intro just threw me back to the minecraft video dubstep intro days

This seems like a skill tutorial for stamina necro dps which is not great outside of pvp. What about for mag necro?
Venom skull don't apply poison quick which is a issue.

"Gross". It's a video game.
Dragon Leap and Magma Armor chapters - just some mislables
So interesting thanks🎉
I want a minion Necro…. 😐
You mean like the companion? Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they add one for this upcoming expansion

Beer and cake in the chat

Shame on me for not being subscribed
xmmm so no army of death ?
Not even close to what a necromancer it - The ESO design version is 100% BS
Cool class but not $29.99 cool
First
Dude...this is an hour long
57mins 6 seconds actually, but you were close :)
And worth every second!
